Orel: GGs tonight. I’ve really been working on my super basic E Honda to compliment my Blanka. Maybe one day I can actually pull off the tricky Honda stuff instead of just waiting for mistakes that don’t always come… and maybe I’ll work on teching throws…maybe…
I can show you stuff, but it has to be in person, that’s really the only way you will extend your game (besides not focusing as much) because usually people reach a ceiling and most of the players here are at their peak right now…
dude I agree,… our last match I was jabbing and it was coming out SOOOO slow… I’m not sure what’s going on with my connection… I still get good to great connections with people in South Carolina, but lately I’ve been getting crap connections with people over the plateau… I even had a Charter guy come out and test my signal strengths and I’m getting a strong signal strength / quality and a consistent 20meg down / 2meg up,… its really disappointing because most of the people I play SF4 with are over your way!
It may be my router that I’m using thats causing some problems… I may have to change it out… I just spent $100 on a new Motorola Surfboard Extreme modem and it ended up to not be the problem (anyone want to buy my other one? Terayon TJ715x - $35)… but right now I’m running a refurb Linksys WRT110,… I’ve never ran refurb stuff and was hesitant about it, but now its looking like that is the problem…
and YES I mash… what I’m usually trying to go for is option select (?) by hit jab+short when I anticipated a throw but I usually double(triple)-tap it and it causes the legs… but yes I need to break it bad… I do it in block strings and get punished SO bad for it!
G-ram: ya sry man I saw your message after I selected chum for my last match. I’m really trying to improve my game with her so that’s why I used her so much. I’ll go akuma primarily next time… Man I was surprised how effective chun’s jump back fierce is, it seemed especially effective against gief. But man what I really thought was funny is how I kept going for cr fierce during lariat and Just how bad that whiffs, it goes right through his legs!
@Krayzee: I wouldn’t rely on that too much, you for sure caught me by surprise but the last time you did it I just light greened toward you and spd’d. Your Chun is getting better though. I need to play you and Eddie more, I just freak out against her and start mashing like crazy.
Sev,
Good games today man. That was a great learning experience. Especially with Super and Ultra setups. Lunch games are fun! We gotta keep at it seeing how I am still learning new things.
P.S, Balrogs dash ultra is easy to do! Why didn’t people think about this before.
Yes very good games today. I am finally getting better at seeing and blocking the Tatsu shenanigans and my rate of tech’d throws has gone up as well which was my main goal. If only I could land the tough link combos more than 85% of the time we would be in business. I should be free again tomorrow, and Thursday as well if you want to get in another session. I know you were planning to go to the ville this weekend but I cant make it.
Also anyone on this side of town going to power play tomorrow I would really appreciate a ride out there. My wife will have the car in the evening and by the time she gets back it will be too late to make it out to cordova. I got gas money and dinner if anyone is willing.
Ya I’ve played it the last couple of days. It’s super fun but man does it get frustrating. I’m trying to make my team Polymar, Frank West, but can’t get Frank’s combos down.
Not yet, I’m waiting on my wired adapter to come in (or more aptly money to PAY for the adapter). I bet it’d be great if I was playing with people from MS/TN.
As far as who I play, I’m leaning towards T-Blade/Chun, but I came up with an interesting team last night consisting of Saki/Roll. I call it Team Sushi. Zoning for days, and an insane keepaway game. Only problem is I’m not good with Roll and matches take a long time.
