Packers are headed for the playoffs. It’s a good day.
And the Predators are on a winning streak. Even better day.
FlyMike: A lot of the normals have a lot to do with it because like I said, you can’t just figure them out. I will still play Tekken occasionally and when I find out what my schedule is with this MK book/game I am going to get ass raped by Cody once a week as a “break” from the game because I truly do like the game but it is not friendly if you want to play it other than casually with your buddies.
Also, Orel uses who, Christie/Eddy? Even seasoned players can’t block their shit ALL the time…I remember I had this conversation with Richard when he was first playing Tekken at how he originally thought they were highly skilled characters, but against most people (unlike Street Fighter) you could just press buttons and not even move and still win half the time and I mean POUND the buttons. I know against higher comp you can’t do that, but that is why casuals like that game and MVC2…gives them a sense of accomplishment. There are more amateur players at MVC and Tekken that thing they are good just because of this type of stuff.
I am not saying Orel can’t play the game, in fact I am pretty sure I would lose 10-0 to him in Tekken, but there is some unpredictable stuff against those two unless you are on the top top line as a player in Tekken.
Don’t get me wrong I am well aware that shit won’t work against really good players, but the margin is slim for that…and the game being as dangerous as it is, there is a reason the game is played 3/5 rounds and not 2/3 rounds in tourneys…too much rides on one-two juggles…
But this proves it:
“Oh, I didn’t know that I should’ve got my ass up.”
“Oh, I didn’t know I should’ve remained on the ground.”
“Oh, I didn’t know I should’ve side-rolled.”
“Oh, I didn’t know I should’ve teched.”
“Oh, I didn’t know I should’ve got up and blocked.”
“Oh, I didn’t know I should’ve toe-kicked.”
“Oh, I ididn’t know I should’ve got up with low-sweep.”
“Oh, I didn’t know I should’ve got up with toe-kick.”
“Oh, I didn’t know I should’ve backrolled away.”
“Oh I didn’t know I should’ve rolled forward.”
I don’t even know how to do all of those things STILL, lol…so much situational stuff and if you guess wrong, you are screwed. One mistake can = Ultra level damage every single time…
I miss Guilty Gear…
I think Tekken should let you choose which style to use in the next one: old or new style, I was starting to get the hang of some char before they changed some things around in. 6.I was better with T4 Yoshi. Lol
I think I will get back into MK, the only other fighter I was good at. (And K.I) that wasn’t made by CapCom.
I’m taking the whole week off this time, I’m not missing Marvel again.
.
Jeez, an entire Sunday wasted on playing Super Metroid with my dad.
I feel like a kid again.
FFFFFFFuuuuuccckkkk my internet. blows up a satellite
Lol, i’ve only been playing that game on and off for months.
GGs to Krazeejl
I am so. bad. at that game. It took us like 2 hours to get that gravity suit, because… I forgot there was a Chozo Statue who would take us to the room. crosses eyes And then my dad just kept exploring and going into places without telling me, so I would lose my place on the map and be like… fffff lemme find you again. Oh and kudos to me for leading him somewhere to get some super missiles and being like “Oh yeah there’s a mini boss fight.” That thing was harder than the actual boss. :[
GGs to Chris and Eddie and everyone that came out and played AE with me and my buddies from Cookeville. I absolutely fucking loved playing as Yang. MAYBE FINALLY I have a character that I enjoy playing and want to stick with in these games.
I’ll be back down in a few weeks for more AE. At the latest, I’ll drag have a dozen people up there for MVC3.
Also, in for Final Round. Gotta rep dat Mahvel.
GGs to Shawn and Memphis Josh.
Ken, Cody, Dhalsim, Ryu, and Bison are the top tier in this game.
Heh.
Yeah GGs to the cookeville crew today.
Koontzey: We gon play da shit out some marvel. Every time i come to cookeville, we get together for marvel. Also, finally landing that damn rekka, rekka, fadc, U1 was tits.
Edit: Also koontz, are you on aim?
something tells me I’ll be playin the hell out of some MVC 3…
Well, just got back to Murfreesboro after a week and a half in Obion county. Now that the unbearable family-holiday festivities is over and now that I’ve taken my girlfriend back to Lexington, I’m going to play AE and super until my eyes bleed.
Tomorrow I have to get some serious packing done, but I’m going to try to get finished at a decent time so I can head up to GG for at least a few hours…
Edit: Oh and as for MvC3 while I highly doubt that I’ll try to play that competitively (I suck at MvC2 all around) you can bet I pre-order the collectors edition the first day it was available to pre-order.
Today is Joshua’s 15th birthday! Happy birthday to my amazing son! I love you Josh!
Ok, finally posted a date:
http://shoryuken.com/f7/mwc-2011-original-midwest-championships-june-17th-18th-sat-sun-nashville-tn-261348/#post10035688
I will need some serious help on this tournament so I am going to create a staff (free entry, free food, free whatever) for people to help me with the tournament…
Right now I can count:
- Negro Justice (Marketing and running)
- Shawn (if not busy and can do stream)
- Richard (possibly)
We’re going to need systems and TVS (each setup gets you TWO free tournament entries) and we’re probably going to look into a temporary internet solution for the event for possible stream. We are in the planning stages of this but this has been pushed to June because of the high traffic of stuff going on in May including a slew of unannounced tournaments…
This will be held somewhere in the mall, but NOT at the same location that we had SBO at. It is possible we will do Tekken 6 but I need to confirm with the Tekken community if it won’t be a waste of time…we can do a high roller tournament on it and stream that even if entrants are an issue, but the date should stick as of right now…
Jason you can count me in to help out MWC in any way. I can bring at least one setup and help out with whatever. I’ll ask for that entire weekend off.
Ya I’d be down with whatever you need, setting up the venue or whatever lifting and shit needs to be done. Also I got a setup for sure.
