@gdbell - You have managed to get on every single person’s nerves in this thread, and people are ignoring you. MAYBE you are doing something wrong.

Stop money matching people on the forum. If you want to MM someone, fine; do it in person. Seriously, just stop. Also, stop saying people are “slaw” and that you’re going to “spend time in the lab” and show them how much you have improved. You’re free to most of the decent players in TN and you have no room to talk. Even if you were good, talking all that trash would get old and annoying regardless. You’re sounding like a broken record. You keep saying let the sticks do the talking but you do exactly the opposite. Humble champions are respected more than loudmouth scrubs.

Sometimes I wonder if you are just trolling our thread because otherwise I don’t know how you could be so aloof of your situation and standing in this scene right now.

I played a little at EVO and Final Round, and I’ve played some with Vice at Red September. I loved the fast-paced nature of the game, and I can understand why a lot of the Gear scene went to it.

And I agree completely that GGAC > BB. I wish Aksys would just make another GG, but I understand that Sega Sammy owns the rights. BB isn’t a bad game, it’s just inferior to GGAC, and much slower. it’s very beginner friendly, though. Hell, it’s the game that got me into competitive fgs.

Hmmm, maybe I should start bringing a PS2 with a copy of MBAA and start inviting the Gearheads to play it.

I have only seen him play one time over a stream and he looked a lot better than me. Don’t get your panties in a bunch!!! And for people wondering about MBAA, it’s like trying to explain the film Inception. You just gotta experience it yourself. If you don’t fine. But everyone else is glad they did. That’s pretty much it.

EDIT: Ok, I’m feeling pretty generous. Last post before bed and i’ll try to open some eyes. 30+ charas. All of them with 3 grooves or “moon styles” (Crescent/Half/Full). These styles don’t simply change your systems,mechanics, how you play, etc., but also normals, moves, specials, all that. So it wouldn’t be a CvS2 type deal(I am fighting Sakura in A groove, I can expect not that much diff from C groove except custom combos and eventually guard meter rape). No, here it’s akin to about 60 characters because of the styles.
Look at the select screen and its easy to see numerous “Evil Ryus” for charas. Or a vampire schoolgirl, not knowing that she’s the real grappler of the game over a guy that throws you across screen, and dunks you into the ground, among other command grabs depending on your moon style. On the surface, it boils down to if you don’t like nice artwork, great music, cool presentation, or anything else, you cannot deny that these characters have the moves and combos that make you go ouch. And they are all different. The anime hentai porn girls become 100x cooler once the fight starts.

Also, the community is VERY helpful to beginners and scrubs like myself. Even though I know a few of these guys back from when I played GG, the scene is tight and dedicated. Check the MBAA forums here on SRK. Yea that’s me asking random ques at 4am and getting instant responses and links. So for guys worrying about accessibility, jerks, elitists, whatever dudes complain about, it’s all good. And furthermore, you do not have to have a GG background to get into this game.

And like I said, if for some reason it does not appeal to you, at least you will bump OST in car. Even got hip hop tracks that seem like they came straight from 3s. In all honesty, this game kinda has my mind blown. I wish I wasn’t so narrow minded and got on it sooner. But whatever, that was just a heads up for whoever cared.

Blinky: the mall doesn’t have internet issues, it was the coffee shop. The guys there had neversetup astream before and the bandwidth was just horrendous. We have internet at the arcade but it’s way too far to reach…

Also, it’s not an “if” for MWC, it’s a definite. I ran it from 1996-2009 in Chicago exclusively sans one year in Nebraska in 2003. The tournament has been going on since 1994 and I was just too burnt out this year to do it correctly which is why Keits asked about taking it over that year…I also had ST SBO on the brain anyway for us…

I know the “geography” seems a bit weird, but the Midwest is a huge area. When we did it in Omaha (extreme West part of the Midwest) our numbers were affected because it’s an 8 hr drive to Omaha just from Chicago so almost everyone east of Illinois did not attend. Right now Kentucky is considered the Midwest instead of the South region wise in many areas and we’re what, an hour from Kentucky? We’re also only 4 hours from St. Louis, 4 hours from Indianapolis, etc. This is precisely the same driving distance for them to Chicago anyway, so it should not really be that much of a difference and I think the “new” city environment would be interesting for everyone.

This also gives us time to prepare because we will need a lot of help with it…

For the tournaments I am thinking a “legacy” day on Friday with older games (some arcade) and the actual big day on Saturday. The kicker is leaving early…we did fine this time around getting out at 9-10pm but in Chicago we usually run until 11pm and one year we were playing GGSlash until 4am (2 arcade machines and a 50+ man tournament)

Oh, and Duckie, from what I understand the rights issues between Sega/Sammy and Arc Sys have been pretty much resolved. If anything, Arc probably just wants BB to simmer for a bit before they bring out another GG. But when that day comes…:rock:

Pat’s playing BBCS, G-rammu wants to play BBCS, I’m definitely gonna be picking it up and getting my Bang game going again. Everybody talks shit about CS because all their favorite characters got nerfed, but I play Bang, so I don’t have dick to complain about because he jumped from ass tier to the very top. 99 problems and my main ain’t one. Picking this up on 360 fyi.

Also picked up T6 for PS3 last night after getting creamed at SBO. Practicing on T6 PSP isn’t enough. My Lee’s getting better, but I really REALLY need to work on spacing, quit grinding arcade and thinking I’m better than I actually am and start putting some real matches in. Pat, Doom, anybody else in the Murf/Nashville area wanna start working on Tekken for real?
