If anybody is still thinking about getting BlazBlue: Continuum Shift but is still on the ropes, Challenge mode will straight up teach you everything from pokes to BnBs to advanced when-will-I-fucking-use-this combos, much like Street Fighter 4’s character trials. It’s actually closely modeled after SFIV’s challenge mode, but a little more comprehensive: you can watch the computer complete the challenge as a demo to see how it works, you can have it show you the names of attacks or the raw button inputs, you can reset into the optimal position on the fly, and you can hop from whichever challenges you want. I’m on Bang’s 4th set of challenges now and they’re kind of ridiculous…but they let you see new combos you might have missed and let you get vital practice with ones you want to learn and keep in your bag of tricks.
So yeah, if anybody’s not sure how to even play the game but wants to get in on the action anyways, I think it’s been mentioned in the thread already, but the game will teach you the ins and outs of the game if you stick with Challenges enough.
Speaking of challenges, one of Bang’s BnBs links two strong hits, one medium hit, a nasty wallbounce, AND a super. Top tier baby booyah

First I want to apologize for running right out after we were putting away set ups. I wanted to stay and talk for a moment but my phone had died while a million people were attempting to get ahold of me. Top of the list was my girlfriend who was likely to cuss me out if I didn’t make it home before midnight ET so please excuse that.
Second, DAMN YOU SEV! I played 8 people in a row and won them all (something 24-4 overall, I think) but I was dog tired. It was already a long day and I literally was five minutes from having bought a new 2010 Honda Civic. I was not in the mode yet damn jerk :lol: . GGs to everyone I played.
I can’t remember who uses Vega but he easily could’ve taken that game from me - super solid.

Plutonium: Stop trying to anticipate EVERY SECOND OF THE ROUND and punish when you can. You got Rose! There were moments I couldn’t even move because you were spacing properly and using her beastly pokes. Don’t panic on wakeup. You are so close to destroying a lot of people. Be patient.

Edit: I don’t like how it’s a loose spec dependent on 4 technologies. I’m not sure that it’s an elegant enough solution to ever catch on. I’ll keep my eyes on it.

I am going to try and have a permanent top 10 thread here with results of when rankings change week by week (like the NCAA tournament) for the area. It’s a lot more fun seeing the top 10 metamorphosis over the weeks…
