Ha, I know you were just messing with me for the most part, but great games man. I look forward to more soon. I really am having a hard time figuring out how to wake up properly and how to dash+attack. I also have to look up some more combos I believe. I came up with those in training mode, but I know he has to have more launchers then just the ones I was attempting.

Bro…admittedly I was trying to troll at first, but then I got a quick reminder that I was playing DIMO! GGs again. Yea movement and waking up is way diff in this than Tekken. Those fundamentals you have from Tek already gives you a kickstart(I see that now in your play). But alot of it you have to dump.
I just want to personally let you know that you’re using a monster. Ok? And I know you can see some of that strength right now even at this point. Yea he has better, more stylish, and difficult combos. Mostly revolving around his Iai kick. But what you are doing right now is just fine. Would’ve personally preferred to see you with THE BRAD SHOW but you seem to be clicking with JackBoy.

I don’t know. But we got a beastmode room. You should prob hit up VFDC regularly too. They have a shoutbox where you can chat and ask questions and shit. You could hit up Numbers, ask him specifics. I told him I got a few guys wanting to learn the game. Get all your basics down first, then worry about why Lei should or can do what he does in certain situations. You want to get as much personal time in as you can so that when peeps drop knowledge on you, you can soak it up and visualize.
If I were you I’d fuck around in training mode a bit each day just going through his commands, stances, and transitioning, knowing what moves come out of what. You may not know what it’s purpose is, but just try to remember that move exists. Go in.matches and try to recall and place shit. Win or lose. You’re just trying to cop a feel. After a day or so of this, THEN ask and worry about other stuff. I swear this’ll make it better and easier for when you come up on the juicy Lei-Fei shit. And because you copped a feel first you’ll personalize it and won’t be a flowchart clone.

Um…I wish I had something like easy to give you that would help. I am still really new to him and he has so many moves, stances and set ups that its kind of daunting. But here is a little of what I know already.
-Kyo Stance (4PKG) seems really good for pressure. He gets a quick string that ends in either a mid or low, has a way to crush 2P and gets a pretty fast low on its own that either staggers or knocks down. And a big dmg juggle starter; its high but it feels like it beats other attacks. 3P-PKG goes right into this and even if the opp blocks the 3P you are at plus frames anyway. I think this is the most strait forward stance
-Kai Shiki (8PKG) I might have the name wrong but I know the notation is right. Its the stance where he is on one leg. I love the auto mid/high punch parry this gives and make liberal use of it VS chars who have quick strings they like to abuse. This seems like a transitional stance to me unless you are really reading their attack you dont just go into it. This is a work in progress I just bring it up because I love Sabaki and this stance also leads to PK then PG on hit which looks bawse
- Set Ups: I wold suggest going to training mode and using the settings for the dummy to react after blocking something and see what you can come up with. It has all the most common options available and I think this helps. By doing this I found the following sillyness, which I have done in real matches, though it does require good spacing
:Lei in reg stance open or closed
:6 PK, PKG (A quick high overhand punch attack that leads to Hai Shiki (that stance is 2 PKG on its own btw)
:When spaced right even if the opp blocks the attack Lei moves out of the way to avoid most of the general follow ups (2P, 5P, PG and a lot of mids)
:From Hai Shiki you then K which is a launcher. Which will whiff punish just about anything your opp did at that spacing. Even if they waited you can still use K as a counter hit set up which still nets you the launcher. Even if they block the K it puts you in Kai Shiki (8PKG on its own) meaning the opp cant punish you with any mid or high punch attacks and you have a simple mid/low mix up from that stance as well as an evade roll
:If you did hit the launcher you end up in Kai Shiki and do the following combo K, P, PK. The combo ends in Yuns lunge punch. (Pro tip on some of the cast you will cross over the opp as you hit them with the lunge punch. Which means if they quick rise in place you get to apply back turned stuff)
And that doesnt even cover all the options from that set up as there is more you can do once you are in Hai Shiki but it was feeling a little wall of texty as is lol. Im on vacation until the 16th so if you want to try and get some online games in just let me know when. I am still beginner level though

Some serious words for a minute on all this girl/relationship stuff…MOST girls don’t really “get” games in general. Girls generally do not understand the point of them and most girls don’t get all the random shit talk and geeky shit y’al do. That being said, all these girls also aren’t acknowledging that there are different levels of “gamers”. Every girl over the age of 18 has messed with some ass who put anything and everything before her and was probably the most pissed by his games because she couldn’t comprehend that as being important at all. Almost every chick you will ever meet in life was screwed over as a teen girl by some dude she thought was super hot or whatever but he did her “wrong”. Not to belittle some of the actually serious situations that have happened but a lot of times you have a young girl who catches feelings for some dude who’s just trying to catch some ass. Fast forward 5 or 10 years and chick is still bitter because she just knows it wasn’t her fault so she is on a quest to find a “real” man who doesn’t bother with boyish things, like games. MOST women who will stand around and judge a guy for real based on whether he plays games or not are not really interested in having a partner or a relationship. They are interested in telling their friends that their guy is the better man of all the men in the group. These are chicks who care more about your bank account balance than you. I give Sev a lot of shit for games. You guys all know I will shit talk you and poke fun and call you geeks and whatever. I tell Sev all the time that I don’t know anything about games because I was popular in high school! lol Bottom line, gaming is one of his hobbies. I love him and I wouldn’t want him to be deprived of a hobby just because I don’t play or get it. We make sure we balance our time together. I am really upset to think that some of you guys are thinking you would need to change what and how you enjoy things in order to have a gf! If she doesn’t think you’re a cool person for whatever reason, keep it moving. Yes, it’s important that you are respectful, clean, smelling good is mandatory, funny, polite and employed (or in school) because no one wants to be with someone who has no self respect or ambition. Those of you that know me know I don’t pull punches. You want to be in a relationship? Be happy with yourself so you can be a good partner. You just looking for a friend, be honest with whatever chick so you don’t help create another bitter girl. Be honest with yourself about what you can contribute to a partnership and honest about who you as a person are. If you would rather game (or do any hobby) than spend time doing just about everything else, you probably don’t need a gf. There are plenty of good partners out there in the world but you can’t find one if you can’t be one.
To shorten, dress how you like, do what you enjoy and shrug it off if you hear some shit about it! You listen to all these people trying to “run game” or “play” the field or whatever and all you will succeed in doing is being miserable. Be a productive member of society, wear your protective gear and enjoy your life. Make your life what you want it to be and the right partner for you will find you when you least expect it.
