Ok guys you are speaking my language. I’ve never been able to get into the “feel” of 3D fighters but now I’m tempted to give it a shot. And, $15, for real? What’s it called exactly? What’s the version? I haven’t been keeping up, the last version I played was “Virtua Fighter” in the arcade. (Shit was weird btw)
I see what you did there.
Honestly though, to what extent do combos/juggles enter into VF? I do want my fighting games to be fighting games, not guitar hero.
@hiryu
Yeh I play VF, gotta get back in the groove. I play Eileen and maybe Pai since i played her in VF4. But for now Eileen since that’s the only person ive played in 5
There are combos in the game but they are not super long like Tek or BB. The game is, IMHO, more about solid reads and set ups than anything. Certain chars do have more in depth combos than others. Like most Goh combos are really simple where as Lei Fei has more button presses if he is doing stance changing mid combo. Others have combos that are just frames but they are usually pretty short.
@ Abe: Strictly Taka Flocka Flame in this. People who have a problem with that can E.A.D. and die. Dude is an honest man. Jeff is only for trolling and money matches. He is the Candyman, and therefore his name shall not be spoken.
@ Cale: Don’t ask. Just go forth. Resolve will light your way.
Here is a vid from the last hour or so of our private room last night. We and other players were literally in it ALL day, since like 1pm. This footage was at like 10pm. Great level play and commentary. Don’t mind that guy who’s raping everyone for the first 30 minutes or so. He’s just a high level jap player. Nothing more:
I was like OMG he’s gonna beat that Sarah…aww shit man. According to VFDC apparently that dudes (ChaMama3) a beast. And he is NOT Japanese lol.
@Cale, the version is VF5 Final Showdown. 15 for the base game no DLC. ALL DLC is cosmetic ONLY. On the real though with few exceptions all you need is an understanding of the system, and the ability to read and setup your opponent. Exec barrier is very low for most chars.
Mike and I can prolly answer any general questions you may have.
One person told me that he’s not, and that he just played in Tokyo a long time. More people seem to want to believe he’s a japanese demon spirit though. Majority wins.
And you saw what happened right? Everyone was hung up on that it was won if he hadn’t broke that last grab. Like when I stopped 6KP string and hit him with hcf break. I went for same setup AGAIN but should’ve used hcb grab!
But peep this, and I know you probably did because you see everything. But match was over WAY before then. When I got the CH 6P splat on wall. I should’ve 66P+K bounded him, canceled into stance->P+K and just finished with wall combo ftw. Could’ve really gotten more because that was a high ass splat. Overkill combo either way. But I wasn’t expecting that 6P to connect let alone CH wallsplat! That was just supposed to be a “gtfo me” 6P lol. Fighting dude is tense as hell. You want to get your damage and just get the fuck back. Which is why I had a guaranteed wall combo ftw and ran away like dumbass. Way before the “throwbreak heard around the world”. Shit man lol…
BRAD “THE BRAD SHOW” BURNS. Do it. Do it now. If he has meter he does EX B+2. Brad > Bruce. Even though you won’t believe it at first because dude is such a douche. 30 secs with him Dimo. 30 secs. And you will see. I bullshit you not.
K. I know every direction is a number…someone tell me what numbers go to what directions…i know I could go scramble for the answer in some search, but I dun feel like it…VF a downloadable game or game disc?
VF is downloadable only. $15 for the base game aka everything you will ever need if you don’t care about costumes. $5 per costume pack, or $15 for a combo back. Each combo pack has half the cast. So if you care about costumes its $20-$45 for the game plus as many costumes as you give a fuck about.
Customization options are pretty solid, hundreds of items per character supposedly. Plus 5 default costumes.
Aoi is very tricky, she has some similarity to Asuka in that she has a parry/reversal “stance”. She can also free reverse almost all moves with the correct read, even moves that normally cannot be reversed like double hand attacks or shoulders. She can even reverse down attacks. I.e> if you try to stomp on her while she is knocked down she can reverse that shit too.
She also can cancel certain strings leading to delay/throw mixups. So say she can throw out a punch combo ending with a kick. Next time she may cancel the kick and go for a throw while you hold block expecting an attack. She might also delay the kick…etc.
Lei is a stance monster, he can freely transition in and out of several stances, leading to some very confusing and graceful offense as you go from stance to stance. Each form usually has several moves that can come out of it, leading to mixup chances. Also stances may have special properties, for example he has one stance that will auto-reverse any mid or high punch or elbow thrown at it leading to damage and kd. Another stance has strong attacks out of it with parry properties etc. Think Wong Fei Hung from Once upon a time in China.
Pretty much every Blazblue character in/around Nashville plays on 360. There’s like 2 or 3 who don’t, and as far as I know there’s no real difference in the versions of the game.
Me and Bishop are on PSN. Honestly, some people say XBL has the higher level of players just based on a few guys who’re XBL exclusive. But when they aren’t on, it’s brain mush scrub matches. That’s why many of those guys have both systems. PSN has the higher number of players overall by an obscene number, and way more of the intermediate guys just under top level. So you’ll find way, way more good matches and comp on PSN. Too many high level guys have been whining about XBL when certain people aren’t on, and they just end up spending more time on PSN.
my god since i moved to Nashville my online has been so ass…take it I had a wired connection in memphis, and now I’m runnin wireless, but this is ridiculous…some nights everyone is a one bar in SF…cant even access Netflix from XBL some days its fine, but more often than not, shit tons of lag…wtf…been meaning to call Comcast and get on they ass…
