Yea, the training mode is nice. But it ain’t got shit on VF4Evo’s. No fighting game does. It force-fed all the intricacies of the game to you like a japanese episode of Sesame Street.

True stun and dizzies? Or are you simply getting hit by frame advantageous stuff and you can’t attack before they can? First order of business is to know what you got hit by. If it’s +frames to where they get mixup or are able to interrupt you attacking right after, or plus frames where they get a guaranteed attack after. Of course you wouldn’t immediately recognize what you’re caught up in. Until you know what it is, best solution when you see that you’re in a frametrap situation that previously locked you down is to just BLOCK. Don’t do anything but block. Then if someone goes for a punishable move, you can react accordingly. But it is possible for someone to frametrap you and do +frame moves in succession. And all you know is you’re blocking and they’re pressuring you so you try to attack and boom! But this is for you to read. Usually if someone goes for another +frame move after another, you can interrupt. But if you’re wrong and they do a move within the frames of their adavantage and you attack, then you’re on your back. But this is just general 3D fg stuff. It comes to a head in this game way quicker though because you may just have to learn about frames and punishing at an earlier stage than with Tekken, SC, DoA, etc.
Long story short, I’d block until they do something that I recognize or know I can punish. And then you don’t wanna block too long and get grabbed. Or duck and catch mid or launcher or even crouch grab. But this is the risk you run. And them too. Game is just straight reads man. And complete knowledge of other characters. So it’s definitely a grind even to play mid level competently.
P.S. Even some moves that LOOK like 2Ps give +frames on hit. So it may not be that the move is really fast but also that you may be at a slight disadvantage on hit OR block. Also keep in mind that 2p is special low and you can block it standing or ducking. It’s just a tool. And isn’t for high, low mixups like some people seem to think.

Is it generally the big attacks that have the most disadvantage? It feels like rapid monkey girls punches and aoi or pai punches don’t ever give me time to do anything.

Just play against people that aren’t me, Bishop, or Jose and it’ll probably be a better experience, 100% death combos will definitely turn a new player off.
@Mike yeah Ggs to you as well. I’d cont. To play if more people up here played this game. Seems whenever im in Memphis is when ill be able to play it lol.

Ok so how is vf’s online and for the love of god how is goh? He is pretty much the only reason i want to play this game.
VF has the best netcode of pretty much any fighter to date right now. You should buy it just because of that.
