I have to agree with you on the thrill of not dying and losing your loot. Only reason I’m playing softcore is because of experimentation/learning the game. It is training me to actually make mental notes of how to use the terrain to my advantage in certain areas before I confront that champion pack or elite monster. Also you get to crunch numbers on which armor works best for your passive skillset (i.e. do I sacrifice vitality for more armor or raise up my attack speed vs. gaining more dex to kill things faster…etc). I’m an old D2 number cruncher and had spreadsheets that did nothing but auto calculate stuff for me when I input stats on my character with/without gear equipped. It was that part of the game that brought me in this endless vortex of testing things out in D2. Another added bonus of having access to your non-hardcore characters: you can test things out in softcore and see what works…and then apply them to your hardcore characters (assuming your gear is closely spec’ed out to match).
I do hope that 1.0.3. doesn’t mess things up. I’m going to wait until then before I dabble in the realm of D3 hardcore. RMAH is screwing up the softcore economy at the moment and it’s getting hard for me to buy/sell my junk.
P.S. Cale, I don’t know if you knew this or not but if you are playing against a vortex affix, you can hug walls and corners to sort of mitigate the risk of being pulled in right on top of a desecrate or plague pool.
This game is cool, and I hope RMAH cleans itself out.
D3 Hardcore (and softcore inferno too, honestly) is awesome for us sadomasochists who love games that make Dark Souls look like Final Fantasy Mystic Quest. About to beat Softcore Inferno, I have the gear now, I just need the time. Unfortunately, I don’t have any of that. It will be nice to relegate Softcore to where it should be though, farming gear to sell to chumps for real $$ while I continue my progression via Hardcore.
@Cale I meant what’s the real point, besides personally just wanting to do it, of having a hardcore character.
Worst Elite mob I’ve seen yet: Fire chains, molten, arcane enchanted, extra health. Lawd.
On a side note, who’s going to EVO? I know Josh(ragingraven ) is and so is Sarah. Anybody else? I’d go if i could tag along with anybody lol.

Back on UT3 on pc. Forgot how fun this game is and it runs a heck of alot better on my new pc of 2 years ( lol!!) than my last pc that died. Any of u still have this gem?

You’re an encyclopedia and I know you’re seeing now that 3D games allow YOU to be more creative in that regard. Real viable “technology” in this shit. If you play more and get more experience in real matches you’ll be golden because you already understand the game better than alot of people who have been playing it for years. Idk if you took a seminar on it or what. But I know who I’m going to when I want to test something out or know the properties of something from every single angle on every single character from this amount of range lol. Also looking forward to when you put more time into Mysterio. I know he has some crazy shit once he gets going. And btw:

Little Rock, AR is going to be holding a Marvel tournament on Friday, July 13th. $5 Venue + $10 Tournament fee ($15 total) with free pizza and drinks. No matter what the amount of entrants are, the minimum cash prizes are set as follows (could be higher depending on turnout):

3rd - $50
