Tell your anger/frustration stories and habits

Rofl thanks bro.

So playing seth vs gief, I’m in corner and he keeps jumping up and headbutting trying to guess me jumping out of the corner - so I jump up baiting the headbut then buffer ultra on the way down to release it the second I land and trap him - of couse buffering the ultra ment I input left, so I walljump straight in to his headbut; instant stun, full strength ultra, dead :<. Made me mad.

Ahah this exactly. I keep forgetting about the fireball thing with Abel/CL at least when I’m not playing my main, after a few hours.

Sometimes when I’m tired and not really in a good mood -or slightly angry- I can’t even distinguish anymore between a cross-up and a regular jump-in, especially with Ken, his jump is shorter than Ryu somehow. That’s the moment I usually convince myself into taking a pause ;p

Considering Gouken’s anti air needs to be timed very precisely (much like Sakura cr. HP) that can be very annoying indeed. Add a generous amount of lag to that and you really have to be calm not to lose it completely sometimes ;p

@HawkinsT : you mean Boxer I guess (not Gief). Btw love your secondary but his roundhouse needs nerfing :]

Nah, zangief’s headbut stuns seth in one move if it’s a counter (and as I was inputting ultra I hit PPP, so a heavy punch came out as I was flying towards him) -

Also, no one nerfs Chuck Norris =).

The only time I get mad is when my moves don’t come out when I think they should and I will just mumble my disgust under my breath. Being a SF scrub compared to most means I go in expecting hard matches and when I lose oh well scrubs are supposed to lose so I take it all as a learning experience.

I used to go through controllers one after another but I evolved past that stage thank god I can’t afford to buy them all the time.

The problem I have most is when I want to do a fucking Ultra, and Capcom’s fucktarded Dragon Punch shortcut comes out and I fucking teleport. Seriously, now that I own a fight stick, I see how overrated it is.

And fuck you Capcom, for pandering to autistics who can’t do a Shoryuken.

I also like it when i land an ex-tatsu with Ryu in the corner and the last hit dizzies them but i still execute the ultra.

Poor headexploder, your thread got closed because you just should have posted your story here… anyway, I typed up a long response and the thread got closed before i could hit reply and the gist of it was something like yes you’re not alone… I get angry too… but I play worse when I get angry, when I can laugh off my loses and keep in good spirits, I play better overall, even if I still occasionally fall victim to random, crazy bullshit like lag or something… so… ya… laughter is the best medicine.

speaking of which, i just threw a remote at the wall and shattered it. reconstructing it helped calm me down though.

 • jumping at an opponent and having them walk a few inches forward, going under me, catching me from behind on the way down and throwing me

 • bison’s cotdamn knee crosses me up even when his knee smashes me right in the face. WTF?!

 • taking forever to get as good on a stick as I am with a pad.

Yeah, almost as bad as the autistics that can’t do an ultra and always get srk or teleport instead. Am I right?

Seriously though, I keep seeing people blame their input errors on capcoms shortcuts - ultra takes priority over srk for example, so if you were actualy inputting an ultra, an ultra would come out - it’s your lack of muscle memory, not capcoms shortcuts, madcatz fightsticks etc. that are to blame!

Way to completely miss the point. It’s not missing the ultra that’s the pissoff, it’s getting something else that puts you in so much more trouble than you would be if the shortcuts didn’t exist and nothing came out. In Bison’s case, you want to punish something with an Ultra payload, but instead you get a teleport that says “Here, let me deliver myself right next to you and tie myself up in recovery so you can get a punish you didn’t earn”.

Yeah, I used to have the same ultra/teleport problem playing as seth. Then I got better at the game.

Missing your ultra and subsequently teleporting right next to your opponent can be extremely frustrating.

I hardly get mad when I use Sakura though.

Again, your supersleuthing prowess has correctly detarmined that Seth, like Bison, is a charge character and spends a lot of time crouching.

Oh wait.

Funny, I only get mad when I use Sakura.

Sorry, I didn’t realise correctly performing the ultra with bison gave teleport.

Oh wait.

Eh, I sorta get what he’s going for… Though the actual process is exactly the same as the one where you do a DP motion instead of an Ultra motion when trying a double-QCF Ultra, it’s something that, unlike doing DP instead of Ultra, wouldn’t happen without the shortcut.

The new shortcuts are basically all about leniency… You can do a downforwards-downback-downforwards motion instead of a forwards-down-downforwards motion to do a DP. A forward-charge Ultra allows you to do the quick back-forth motion as downback-forwards… And if you input downback-downforwards instead, then you get the DP/teleport.

Which kinda sucks. But technically, it doesn’t suck any more than doing a teleport instead of Ultra as Dhalsim. Two moves have similar inputs, and not inputting the one move perfectly instead gets you punished.

Be militantly stupid. It’s an attractive quality.
