Alright, lately I’ve been playing a shitload of Tekken and have been ignoring any and everything Capcom related as of late. So anyway I’m on Tekken Zaibatsu and this guy that works at GW that posts there is talking about how Gameworks was bought out by Sega and how the powers that be there are interested in holding tourneys in their venue. As I hear, the equipment there is actually in good shape. Now, this is where I’m gettin at. GW only has Marvel 2, 3S, and soon to be DR (2 cabinets I’m sure), now if they were to allow the players themselves to run the tourneys there (assuming the equipment is up to par) would you guys be interested in going to tourneys there? Would you be interested in making that the “new place”? They’ve already held a Tekken 5 tourney there that I heard was pretty good.
I’m already sure I know what the answer is hahah, hopefully you guys prove me wrong. I know they’re lacking a couple games (CvS2, A3, ST, etc) but as I understand it, if you show enough interest in a particular game, they may be convinced to get that game. Anyway, reply back with your honest answers. I’ll be going there anyway once they get DR so yeah.
I know I’d go there if people started going, it can be a little expensive, but I’d be curious to see how the however much it is for however many hours deals would work out… those deals would probably be cheaper for the people who get beasted on (like me).
I’d be willing to go on ONE condition. And that’s basically how good the sticks/buttons are. I’m not expecting P360’s…however I expect the sticks to function fairly well…and for the buttons…I’d hope that they all work.
Other than that, its a great idea. I’d love to start playing tourny’s again! Maybe not even tourny’s though…but just the friday night thing that we used to always do.
I think portland in general is down for whatever to be honest. I have only been to gameworks once...... but that was when i was maybe 16. But in the grand scale, It what matters is the quality of the sticks and buttons. but if mandel throws out his word that everything is straight. thats all i need to know im pretty sure everybody else down here would agree. Nobody here really gives a crap about CVS2 down here. we can live without it. and we don't have A3 or ST down here so that explains itself. Everybody should put there 2 cents in and let people know what yall think. Cuz if you want the Northwest to revive then do somethin. Even if you don't like the Gameworks, just say so, just DON'T BE A DICK!!!its always easier to hate then appreciate.

As you all know I suck at Marvel so yea I want a 3S tourney. It’d be even more dope if they got a CvS2 machine. I’ll say hell yea for the tourney idea but I don’t know about going there just to hang out. Not sure how the prices are after Sega took over but GW is expensive as hell, maybe Deezo can use his pull to get them to drop the price to at least 50 cents a game for the fighters… I know they have their happy hour thing but Thursday nights are hella inconvenient at least for me.
Jetay hit it right on the head man. This is all about scene revival really. I wanna see just how badly people wanna play yknow? I hear about people around here playing all the time, but I wanna see if they’ll take an opportunity that’s presenting itself. Yeah GW has been super ugly in the past, yeah they’ve thrown shitty tourneys in the past, but I guess you can say with new management comes new opportunities.
As far as games go, I suppose they would probably only need CvS2. But considering the amount of interest it has up here, I would guess that they don’t need it. People have always played Marvel, 3S, and Tekken up here so maybe that’s all they need. Dunno, maybe some CvS2 guys can post up with their opinions. I think the amount of positive feedback has been good thus far, I hope more people post with their thoughts. It’d be really helpful.
Yeah if GW gets a DR machine I’m down to play there. Not all the time tho, considering my current ride is and 8 cylinider, a GAS HOG! But as far as touranmetns and shit, yeah that’s a good idea. The food there is way better than narrows pussy ass shit.
As as far as the oppisite sex goes, I don’t talk to fucking 16 year old girls (narrows) but I do talk to 19 year old girls (GW).
Personally anytime I heard of a seattle tourney I would come, as long as I had the money and transport. I’m down to play pretty much anything. I’m just a scrub looking to get better.
I like CVS 2 alot and would love more tourney’s but alot of people don’t. 3s is good I wish I was better at marvel and T5Dr. So host away and if I can find a ride I will come.

I’m assuming these tourneys are for more than just T5?
What would the pay system be? I haven’t been to GW in forever but I’ve heard it’s somewhat expensive now (even back when I went they were). And would GW be a new friday night spot also, or would we just start with tourneys and see where it goes?
