I’m liking Houdini more and more, I’m a sucker for magic (being I’m black that might not be a surprise).
The Strain, they can’t write child or female characters for shit. Child can barely act but they still give him plenty of screen time. Hacker chick playing the damsel in distress, hard exterior but she’s fragile, she was pouting hard this episode, we can all see where this is going, just have sex already.
Ef’s wife
Spoiler
so she got 1 of those worms in her, is that all it takes to become a ‘chosen one’, everyone that has turned into a zombie vampire seems to have had their body’s overridden with worms
MasterChef
winner
[details=Spoiler]Glad Courtney won, even though she was extremely lucky that Leslie can’t tell the difference between sugar and salt
lol Elizabeth’s husband fainting seemed so staged
lol at Elizabeth saying “Courtney deserves it” being dubbed in so obviously
[/details]
Apparently Courtney has nudes online, I hope her little brother never google image searches her name
THE STRAIN–yeah, it’s interesting to see the angle going on with Kelly the Wife. I’m assuming she will be one of the chosen, more sophisticated ones since Master met with her personally. It was also cool to see how the vamps see the world…they apparently have some special, enhanced vision that shows the nervous system, heart, blood, etc. of living things.
Kelly was also looking quite hot in this episode… but still not hotter than Eph’s other girl Nora. Mia Maestro is serious business, folks. That little booty-jiggle from the previous episode, and the visual of her pants getting taken off so suddenly… still on my mind.
Dancing with the Stars– Emma is another hot one…she’s dancing with what I guess is a NASCAR guy…? I’m assuming since they had a “pro racer” outfit theme for their first dance.
Janel and her dance partner Val whatever his name–yeah, these 2 have already hooked up. There has only been 1 episode aired and it’s already quite apparent that dude is hitting that currently. This was an easy one too, since they definitely appear to be extremely attracted to each other. It must be quite nice to be a fly on the wall when they have some alone time… on tonight’s episode, they can already be seen kissing each other right on the lips, saying “I love you” and all that jazz. What a life…it must be so good to be him right now…
Janel is from Pretty Little Liars, by the way… that show may have just gained a new fan. ABCFam has a great track record of having deliciously hot young girls on their shows; I just got away from watching that network completely in recent years, ever since they gave up on having any kind of quality Saturday morning animated lineup, and certain other things I’ve forgotten about at the moment went away as well. Yes… Janel is indeed THAT hot that she might just be worth watching a show that would otherwise not hold my interest.
*Smokie Robinson is on performing right now… dude just looks peculiar now… like how some people have that strange look to them when they’ve died and have been “prepared” and made presentable for viewing at the funeral home.
Normally I don’t watch this show but it was on so why not. I only caught a glimpse of it - stage 3 or whatever where no one ever finished it in the past on US soil…and like 3+ guys finish it. First Japanese guy was patient and thought out each step pretty well - pretty emotional - everyone was rooting for him since it had never been done before on American soil. Then crazy rock climber from Italy(?) sped through with crazy wingspan. Then another Japanese guy did some anime flying shit it was nuts.
Alright, let me talk about it more as I just finished watching it. I’ll say the spoilerific stuff later.
There are three teams for this one. USA, Japan and then Europe. Europe is kind of crazy because they only had 2 people who had actually been on a Ninja Warrior run and then they had champion rock climbers. Format was much different too. 3 heats for each stage, each heat giving the amount of points as an entire stage from last year. If a tie happened after Stage 3, it goes to Stage 4. Now the spoilers.
[details=Spoiler]Japan got shut out. Even with not one but TWO finishes on Stage 3, they could not win a heat because they happened to get beat on said Stage 3 runs in faster times. Other than Stage 3 though they completely washed out again. One of their guys couldn’t even finish the freaking Warped Wall.
Stage 1’s record time was broken twice. Once by Joe Moravsky and then it got broken by a European who damn near went sub-1 minute. It was ridiculous. Stage 2 was ridiculous in its own right.
Stage 3 was crazy. Four freaking finishers. 2 Japanese, who unfortunately for them did it too slow. One European, and then Brian Arnold did it for the US. Another European made it to the Flying Bar as well. Every single person who made it to the Ultimate Cliffhanger beat it. They better hope that the ANW makers don’t decide to be douchey and change it to the fucking Sasuke Crazy Cliffhanger. They’ll be wishing they had the Ultimate Cliffhanger back. Main thing to note was due to how things went, the US and Europe was TIED. Thus…Stage 4.
Stage 4, a 77 Foot Rope Climb. That’s taller than Sasuke (66 foot). Rosen vs Scholl. Both finished in a time that would’ve completed Total Victory. Scholl ends up winning by .3 seconds because Rosen whiffed the buzzer on his first attempt to press it.
Europe wins the competition…yeah, the team that had no one ever make it past Stage 1 and only had 2 competitors who ever even competed in NW before. World Champion Rock Climbers man. They dominate those late stages. If Rock Climbers could find consistent success to make it to Stage 3…whew…gives me the willies. But that’s the issue. Those early stages wipe out the Rock Climbers before they can make it to their grillhouse.[/details]
I highly suggest anyone with even a PASSING interest in ANW or Sasuke in general to watch this event. Certainly much better than last year’s.
Heading into the season finale, I wonder how it’s all gonna play out. I’m just glad the bad guys are finally making their move, oh and the master is still one ugly-ass bastard.
There’s already too much stuff for me to keep up with everything… I’m on board with Sleepy Hollow, Dancing with the Stars, Teen Wolf (though I’ve missed several episodes yet again), Gotham and The Strain… but now my older shows are coming back with new episodes–> Walking Dead, The Vampire Diaries and The Originals… and then on top of that ya got The Flash! There’s also “Beauty & the Beast”, though I doubt it has much of a future, really… then there’s the miscellaneous shit I enjoy watching, like Dr. Drew on HLN, which annoyingly has a prime spot at 8 pm every night (obviously that’s in the way of sooo many things…and they stopped repeating it later at night…now the channel just puts Forensic Files repeats on from 9pm going forward.)… and this isn’t even counting the stuff I already have lined up on Netflix.
*sadly, I’m guessing “Friend Zone” is now a thing of the past on MTV… I haven’t seen or heard of it in a long time.
I think television is better than it has ever been…but now the problem is that there’s actually too much stuff to really keep up with… not enough time to watch all of it, unless you’re already retired, or you are a kid with the luxury of having summer vacations and all that jazz.
The line-up over at CW’s Saturday morning section was stale… but at least it was something… now it’s all over:
The only thing at this point I suppose is really Nickelodeon, for TMNT. CN doesn’t really count for much anymore since they murdered their own Saturday morning line-up quite a while ago. (*I still suspect they were actually sabotaged with a mole several years ago, and he’s been working his “magic” of killing them from the inside out ever since.)
Top Chef: Duels
Dale vs. Tiffani
How you gonna say you got this/your own challenge (Dale), then almost fuck things up, to the point of narrowly winning?
Vegan challenges are usually interesting, however. Especially when you consider the pedigree of a chef that isn’t versed in the cooking style.
Jennifer vs. Nyesha
Despite her record in ‘bacon & eggs’ challenges, I wouldn’t mind if Jennifer prepared such a meal for me, lol.
Great duel challenge and contrast of styles between the two challengers, though.
Stephanie vs. Kristen
WTF… Really?!
Despite the ‘closeness’ of judging, did people not see the disaster of the eventual duel winner’s dessert course (sinful) and realize the overall impact it could have on the entire meal offering (especially considering the duel theme), even with the earlier presented two courses (the second course being a highlight round winner for the duel winner).
I can somewhat forgive the over-emphasis on flavor stuffs versus technique, but I tend to favor technique, though.
This needs a rematch, IMO.
Art vs. Kevin
Southern folks likely appreciated this episode, particularly in the tense of old school vs. new school.
I’d like to see Kevin vs. Hung in a protein breakdown challenge. If you’ve followed TC over the years, one should recall the speed in which Hung broke down three chickens (IIRC) into parts during a relay challenge.
The Knockout - Finals
Welp, shit…
Interesting format, where winners make it into the final round and compete for the opportunity to re-enter the main competition at the TC: Duels finale
It appears that none of my picks are making it back in to the Duel Finale.
Considering the two favorites as picked by Wolfgang, it’s like picking the lesser of two evils.
Official winner will appear on TC: Duels finale show.
random culinary theme: US chefs cooking SE Asian food stuffs
All in all, my picks went on to win the duels, for the most part, with only two one major upset(s).

Person of Interest
Jesus doing work, yo.
Watch him go Outlander status and hunt down Samaritan like it was the Morwen(?), or something.
Cara Buono was a nice surprise, especially with the English accent.
Criminal Minds
Jennifer Love Hewitt was a nice surprise on the premiere episode, and the short-ish do is nice, as well.
random musings: You’re The Worst was a fun show to watch.
ANW: USA vs the World (Japan and Europe) was an alright watch.
If ‘the World’ is the tagline, the ‘scale’ of the competition needs to be larger; needs more global teams to participate, versus being an invitational of sorts. But that will only happen if the competition goes global, overall.
Stage 3 stuffs, were WTFLOL, considering the stigma.
