Television General Discussion

Hell yeah…there is once again a nice array of hotness on the new season of Dancing with the Stars. Beth Mota and my baby Lolo Jones…just those 2 right there, along with Cheryl Burke is enough to get me to watch; the others are a bonus. I’m hoping the delicious Erin Andrews returns as the co-host.

Top Chef Duels
Antonia vs Mike
Antonia with the sweep (3-0) in winning her challenge against Mike was pretty sweet.
Italian challenge ‘duel’ was quite fitting for the competitors, which Antonia had gone on to win.

CJ vs Stefan
The ‘foraging’ duel was interesting, given the competitors backgrounds, and all.
Shailene Woodley was also the most interesting celebrity judge, given her interest in foraging concepts.
Stefan, you had one job… and that was to prolong my winning chef streak, lol.

Takashi vs David
Takashi with the trifecta - both chef challenges as well as duel victories.
I did like that the duel (bizarre ingredients) was the theme. It would’ve been more interesting if it happened to be ingredients that Zimmern (guest judge) disliked, that were to be highlighted instead of the choices, as a twist, lol.

The Knockout (ala Last Chance Kitchen)
Hmm…
My pick for a comeback victory to go to the Final Round is out (Brooke).
Welp. I guess I’ll have to root for someone when they end up in there, later on, I guess.

Legends - TNT
Episode 1 highlight: Ali Larter lap dance.
Sean Bean is having fun with this role, maybe even channeling his past roles in each of the ‘legend’ personas he assumes.
Randomly waiting for a specific Boromir moment from LotR to happen, lol.
Tina Majorino sports a short-ish hairdo.

Food Fighters - NBC
Premise: home cook goes in and challenges mystery professional chefs in a series of rounds with dishes/recipes that they are familiar with and wager their preparation vs the chef in an attempt to progress forward and win money. ‘Final Round’ chefs appear to be of the notable variety who have been featured in various Food Network shows.

Erin Andrews does return as the co-host and IIRC from reading somewhere that Julianne Hough joins the panel of judges.

In the Comedy/Sitcom category I’ve been hearing good things about “Selfie” (John Cho and Karen Gillan from Doctor Who), same goes for “Marry Me” (from the same people that made Happy Endings).

I just really hope both shows can keep-up the quality after the pilots air.

“Gotham”, “The Flash”, and “Constantine” have plenty of potential to me. The 1st and 3rd worry me, but 2nd at least has “Arrow” as somewhat of a template creatively.

Ah, looks like the ANW US vs World rematch is on!

Anybody else digging The Knick?

Yes. These last two episodes did exactly what I wanted them to.

The STRAIN–so, I’m wondering if it’s an oversight, or just another thing that sets Eichorst apart from the common vamps… his reflection in mirrors shows up normally like any other person. If I recall, Abe stated that their reflection appears like a blur in a mirror.

Master Vampire shows its face at the end of this episode, and yes the moment is quite awesome.

*Mia Maestro shows some serious leg and booty in this episode too…you can’t go wrong with that. She could piss on my chest and I’d be ok with it.

fucc da kniccs :coffee:

anyway

All the other official hunter vampires makes me think Blade is just gonna turn up and wreck shit up

Nora still gets on my nerves though. Bitch they are souless blood suckers! fucking vampires!! Shes acting like an old person carrying a fluffy bunny is getting killed.

The dream ends again this year.

At least the rematch is next week.

Masterchef…I’m rooting for Leslie to take it all.

Sad that Christian is gone before Cutter…but glad that Cutter is also gone.

Whoever wins this Masterchef deserves it.

Christian was a shoo in for top 3, they rig these things to cause as much drama as possible.

Leslie has been the dark horse throughout, he had a very shaky start but he doesn’t give up, he has a huge chip on his shoulder, he is like marmite for me, I can only deal with him in small doses. I really disliked Courtney at the beginning she came off so fake, her princess like persona has rubbed some people (including myself) the wrong way, but unlike the others she hasn’t started any beef with anyone, doesn’t have a stick up her ass and has just been consistently churning out great dishes (I think she’s only tripped up twice). I’m hoping she wins.

Watching Houdini, they have thrown so much money into this, it’s so over produced :wtf: the cinematography is so over the top, it’s very jarring for me at times. It’s not what I expected at all. I’m half way through the 1hr30min episode, so far it’s been mildly entertaining, I’m only really enjoying it when he pulls off the tricks illuuuuusions.

Finished Dexter, thought it was a good series over all. Had some “ehh” moments, but people over exaggerated how bad the finale was. Like, really over exaggerated.

On a related note, I had no idea Michael C Hall did Broadway. Holy shit, the guy has an amazing singing voice

Good lord he thought it was good…

sigh

???

It’s not just the finale. Ehh doesn’t cover it how bad the latter half of seasons were. You’re right, the finale isn’t mind bendingly horrible (it isn’t Vanilla Mass Effect 3) but it was just the culmination of a ton of bad things with the resolution no one wanted.

The guy just binge watched the entire show, I’m not that surprised at his reaction. We’ve given many years of our lives which made us become emotionally invested in these characters. We’ve seen Dexter and Deb grow as people and overcome many challenges, but the last few seasons we saw more and more sloppy writing and characterizations of the stars and co stars, the finale was the final blow. Majority of fans believed that there couldn’t be a happy ending for Dexter but the way the writers ended it showed a complete detachment from the characters they had originally created, it was also rather insulting how they hyped up the entire season but gave us a turd. This was around the same time Arrow, Luther, Boardwalk, Homeland all had their finales air too, so we could clearly see a huge gap in the quality of writing.

I stopped watching Dexter at season 3. And you all are giving me no motivation to finish it lol

Dancing with the Stars wooooo my baby Lolo is looking so DAMN TASTY right now…like those legs have been oiled up a bit. Then on top of that we got Erin Fuckin Andrews in a TIGHT blue dress… Bethany Mota is coming up soon too…then Julianne Hough has like 80% of her titty-meat and cleavage on display. THEN there’s my baby Cheryl Burke… the hotness this season is off the goddamn scale.

EDIT-- Bethany is on right now…holy shit her ass is looking so GOOOD. The thighs and that little booty…they speak to me.

Thats the idea!
