That ending for True Detective, can’t wait for next week :clapdos:
Top Chef: New Orleans
Final 2:
Spoiler
Nicholas
Nina
I’m okay with this, though I would’ve rather wanted Nina vs Shirley in the finale.
Nina is still the chef to be beat, so Nick has to cook his ass off to win.
The preview for the season finale looks quite interesting though, with Judges Table discussion being somewhat highlighted.
Bourdain would’ve liked the Quickfire Challenge, mainly cause it featured Spam, lol.
Also, the finale being held in Hawaii again (Maui this time around) is pretty cool as well.
The Taste
Nigella was wearing a dark green dress this evening.
Welp, random drama tonight:
Spoiler
Team ‘Hot Mess’ (Nigella’s Kitchen) is done.
Basically, Nigella’s last remaining chef walked out for some reason during the judging of the Team Taste Challenge.
The funny part was that the team didn’t have the worst taste, it was runner-up.
Like, the female contestant just dug out and left Nigella standing there, alone.
I’m pretty sure that if you were a guy that was cooking in Nigella’s Kitchen and was more-or-less the last hope for the team, you’d love the one-on-one time with her, lol.
Oh, yeah… Ludo’s Team won the Team Taste. Whatever though.
Marcus was happy that he didn’t have to eliminate someone from his team, since they had the worst Team Taste.
notable quotes by Nigella:
positives:
- “It’s quite bold.”
- “This is an “open wide” situation.”
- “I don’t know what this is, but I like it.”
- “…but I wanted more!”
- “…it can be tilted in one direction.”
negatives:
- “I didn’t find it enjoyable.”
- “Not looking forward to it.”
White Collar
Welp, the ‘Kahlan Amnell’ arc has concluded.
However, the showcase of good girl/bad girl persona stuffs was a nice sight, though.
I liked her 3rd look (srs bsns mode).
AHS: Coven
’Seven Wonders’, indeed.
Was considering writing up a witty number list of stuff counting down from seven to one, lol.
Grimm is getting better…I loved that episode with the wesen street gangs a couple weeks ago.
White Collar
The twist with the new love interest was easy to spot halfway through her disguise. But it was an interesting twist none-the-less, and it was well executed. He didn’t forgive her or tell her that he’s still in love with loved her, he stuck to his guns and got her to peacefully give up.
AHS: Coven
It wrapped-up nicely except for a few awkward plot holes.
I mean how did [details=Spoiler]Kyle kill Madison without her using her powers to defend herself?
Is Papa Legba in charge of hell in general? Because Fiona shouldn’t be trapped in his domain since she couldn’t make a deal with her. He make couldn’t make a deal with her because she had no soul, so how is she stuck in hell with no soul?
Misty died and everyone moved-on to playing tag with transmutation. Madison I get, but Violet and the rest should’ve been a bit more serious about the gravity of the situation.
Violet’s killer vagina, what happened to that problem? Was Kyle the solution?
Does Delia being the new Supreme mean her eyes can magically heal now?
Queenie has passed her life force onto another, why couldn’t she do it again? And why does she automatically get kicked out of the running when she has already performed that particular power in the past?[/details]
Thoughts about stuff:
Spoiler
Maybe Madison felt some remorse for her (overall) actions, in regard to the ‘triangle’ scenario, and decided to accept her fate? Doubt it, though, lol.
That, or there was something else in play considering Spalding’s appearance at the end. He likely saw that Madison considered leaving the academy and decided to ‘intervene’ as such.
Papa Legba is likely a gatekeeper of the spirit world, besides being a spirit deity in the voodoo culture of the show.
Fiona admitting her true feelings to Cordelia in their final scene together might’ve had something to do with her finally having some semblance of a ‘soul’.
That, or Axeman was lonely in the afterlife and wanted some company, or something. Maybe Papa Legba found some ‘worth’ in Fiona after she died?
Transmutation test was somewhat lolz, considering it looked like something from that movie Jumper.
I was like, “Someone gonna get hurt.”
As for Zoe’s intercourse problem… who knows?
Maybe it’s still a problem, or something.
Cordelia passing the tests of the ‘Seven Wonders’ recognizes her as the next Supreme, with the benefit of full health status conditions. IIRC, the status of the Supreme was touched upon sometime during the course of the show.
When did Queenie perform Vitalum Vitalis earlier on?
Regardless, at the time of the testing of the ‘Seven Wonders’, she was unable to perform it then when it mattered the most, hence disqualifying her from becoming the next Supreme.
Random thought:
Papa Legba could’ve probably cruised with Kananga from Live and Let Die.
Fuck me this looks awesome…
^ why does it say “an original series” ??
…err nice Av
that’s interesting. Robert Rodriquez made a network.
now Quentin needs one
lmfaooo fez
yeah, ahs the coven is riddled with plot holes. i caught up on all of it and watched the final two episodes as they aired, and im just like, this shows aight, but damn does it have plot holes galore. just making up shit as it goes along, and or forgetting shit. you already laid out most of what i thought.
the overall problem was like their magic worked when it worked, and then just conveniently didnt work other times because of no reason at all. lol. im a human voodoo doll who cannot be hurt, unless im retardly choosing to get fucked by a minotaur, or getting shot. as a human voodoo doll, she had some of the greatest powers of the group, but its like the writers never explained how it worked (unless i missed that), and since it was too broken, just randomly turned off her power at times.
the regeneration of delia’s eyes was definitely cray. just gonna randomly have powers like that, even though your mom couldnt keep herself from dying by regenerating her cells. lol
whatever, the show was cool overall. i wouldnt watch it again, the cast is too ugly, and as per the usual, the show was kinda gross for me. lol. i enjoyed voodoo immortal angela bassett the most. the old racist immortal, and precious the most.
Jack and Chloe got exported to the UK?
Almost Human episode with the Gina Carano robot was an interesting watch.
The dropkick and Bionic Leg/Kick scenes would make for some good gifs.
Top Chef: New Orleans
results and overall thoughts on the finale and season
Spoiler
Winner: Nicholas
Runner-up: Nina
Fan Favorite: Nina
Nick’s Team: Jason, Louis, Brian
Nina’s Team: Shirley, Stephanie, Travis
It was up-and-up, overall, with the courses (out of four) being split between the finalists.
Judges’ Table deliberations looked pretty agonizing as it came down to the finer details.
Nina deciding to do two extra courses (amuse bouche and intermezzo), was a nice touch, though, in regards to her culinary background.
Course breakdown was 2 to 2; Nina taking the first two (crudo and pasta/goat) and Nick taking the last two (duck and panna cotta)
I wanted Nina to win, primarily to carry over the momentum of a female chef winning the last competition. That, and she performed quite well over the course of the season with the food she cooked.
I’m okay with Nick winning though, cause he turned things around going into the finale and he pushed himself to do well.
LCK was ridiculous for the two winning streaks.
I do think Louis deserved to come back, based on his performance alone, even though he took out some other chefs I would’ve liked to have seen again.
Random highlights:
- A scene of a bikini-wearing, Padma, emerging from the water.
- Guest Chef diners, which included Morimoto (of Iron Chef fame) and Sheldon, from TC:Seattle.
- Sous Chef picks were standard picking process, unlike blind taste picks in some previous seasons, which I thought was a more interesting scenario.
- The group/family dinner for the finalists was a nice moment.
- Got to see Janine and Sara again, which was a bonus, lol.
Overall, I felt that this was a solid season in regards to the talent, and the showcase of food/culinary themes that are native to New Orleans, was interesting to see.
Is Agents of Shield worth getting into?
no
Nope, not really. Maybe things will change but as of now no.
The Tomorrow People is getting much more interesting now. I won’t say it’s officially in “Must Watch” territory, but the plot and character interaction is coming along well. I’d say give it a watch (at least up to this week’s episode) to see if it’s worth your time going forward.
Still gotta catch-up on Psych and Raising Hope, I need my comedies man…
Obligatory “Damn Olympics Break!” mention

You’ll have to catch up on Psych quick then. This season has been announced as its last.
And I’m not complaining too much about the Olympics Break just because of the fact that I’m in a middle of a move and I don’t get TV access until Tuesday >_<.
Still have to find a stream for TWD though.

Is it bad, if I find all the supporting characters more interesting than the main character?
