So Girl Meets World finally got picked up as a series. To celebrate, I present this potentially NSFW image of Topanga/Danielle Fishel in a spoiler tag.
Im really enjoying graceland right now. Are all usa shows like this because I definitely get the same vibe from suits. I do wish the main guy was different from mike Ross though. They could be brothers or something. Serinda swan in daisies and bikinis all day.
Dexter comes back next week. Im really waiting for breaking bad though.
USA Network, Thursday nights for Summer 2013: Shows featuring guys named "Mike."
If a certain other show was part of the schedule, there would be a trifecta/hat-trick/etc. going on, lol.
To me, Graceland feels like a number of USA Networksâ shows (Suits, Burn Notice, Covert Affairs, White Collar) put together into one, particularly for instances where you have a lead character living a dual-life scenario in regards to their workplace environs, which often makes for some interesting entertainment with interactions between other characters.
Paige is cool and nice to watch, lol.
Iâm surprised you donât mention any Jaime Murray stuffs, in regards to her role on Defiance, or am I thinking of someone else who is fond of her?
You late, lol.
Itâs been airing with back-to-back eps for this season.
Next week should be fun, considering the promo that was shown.
Thoughts on the season so far;
Spoiler
Hoping for the Jâs (Jordan, Jessie, James) to go far, with maybe one of them taking it in the end.
Team Challenges are kinda lolz; Win, and your team is safe. Lose, and some of your team is safe.
suits was the first usa show i watched and now graceland. even from the promos they all FEEL like the exact same show. with suits and graceland that isnât necessarily a bad thing but iâm not rushing out to watch those other shows because then itâd be too much.
i do love jamie murray and julie benz (rip gaia+rita ) but i donât watch defiance because the pics i saw of her in it made her unrecognizable so i didnât see the point. i heard the show kinda sucked anyways.
Defiance doesnât add anything new to the post-apoc sci-fi genre, but I donât think itâs a bad show per se. Itâs pretty in line with other original SyFy series, in that the writing isnât premium cable level, but it still has interesting characters in a unique world. Jamie Murray plays her part very well, and I think she would have been a great Circe Lannister in an alt world. They also give her some surprisingly sexual scenes. I guess Lost Girl showed SyFy writers whatâs up lol.
I caught Hannibal, but too bad no one else did lol!
I think there is one notable loose end in terms Will Grahamâs situation, and that is Miriam Lass. The mysterious killer was supposed to have killed Miriam because she was suspected to have gotten close to figuring things out. So how can Will be legitimately tied to her death?
It is a bit much at times, especially if you follow all those shows, which I somewhat do, lol.
Itâs all about those scenes when Stahma is featured bathing (preferably by herself) or when she was in bed with Kenya, lol.
I also watched the season finale of Hannibal last night.
That featured meal made for an interesting scene/conversation.
Now to wait for a cookbook of featured recipes and new episodes next year.
HmmâŚ
It appears that 72 Hours has made the move to Friday nights on TNT.
Tonightâs episode featured the Island on Lanaâi in HawaiiâŚ
âŚand some drama cause someone quit the competition.
He wasnât though, it was Abigailâs friend, some other girl whose name I canât remember, Doctor Sutcliffe and the girl in the oxygen chamber thing. Miriam Lass is associated with the Chesapeake Ripper
[details=Spoiler]Crawford and the FBI havenât connected the dots that the Copycat/Chesapeake Ripper are the same killer. Will figures it out(maybe not that heâs the Chesapeake), but that Hannibal was the copycat and set Will up.
That was a great scene in the Hobbs house. Willâs realization was well done and Will gets shot and ends up in the identical spot that Hobbs died when Will shot him. I remembered that scene early in the season when Abigail said Hannibal should play the voice on the phone and Will gave them both a lookâŚthat was cool that it was a piece to Will figuring it all out.
The implication that the âvealâ Hannibal and his doctor were eating was Abigail was pretty fucked up too, she knows what Hannibal isâŚinteresting to see how that will play out, looks like series is not gonna be bound to Will working with Hannibal on serial killer of the week setups, but actually be driven by story.
Final scene was great too, uses the same piece of music from Hannibal, same front perspective shot they used on Clarice in SOTL. Series was getting a little tiring with Willâs constant psychological breaks, but canât wait to see how theyâre gonna play Will clearing himself and going after Hannibal[/details]
USA shows do mostly live up to their slogan of âCharacters Matterâ. Basically they take simple TV premises and slightly tweak them, and then they cast/write characters that have personality or some sort of chemistry that makes it work. You know relatable enough personalities to an audience, quirky humor, and a nice dash to keep things interesting.
I donât watch the networkâs shows too much because of other stuff that grabs my attention, but they do have a successful formula that works most of time. Not to mention advertising any new programming well ahead of airing time.
I knew [details=Spoiler]Gideon was tied to Miriamâs death but I thought that Will and Jack knew (or heavily suspected) he was being manipulated into thinking he was the Chesapeake Ripper. Therefore still leaving some doubt as to who really killed her.[/details]
Ah, thanks for all that! I actually forgot I missed a pivotal episode involving Abigailâs secret. Oh well, great season anyways and I look forward to the next season in 2014.
Falling Skies is good imo. It wonât win Emmys, but itâs a fun watch.
Iâd say it is better than The Walking Dead in terms of character interaction. Not everyone is blatantly brooding and shitting on one another in the middle of trying to survive.
And the alien invasion angle has more room for exploration than the zombie apocalypse, you still have selfish humans and alliance issues but with a little more subtly. Itâs not quite as dark or gory, but the writing is better.
