Television General Discussion

I can’t wait for the premiere of Hannibal

It premiered last Thursday, I forgot about it but NBC had it on their on demand channel…

I’ve been with the show since it first premiered, and I think it is an incredible work of television.

Watch ‘The Americans’ people!

They’re also reshowing the premiere on Wednesday night at 10p.m. ET, so I’ll watch it and then watch the encore showing of The Americans at 11.

Americans is so good. Wish more of you guys watched it so we can all talk about how great it is.

Anyone watching the ITV drama Broadchurch, stars David Tennant (Dr Who). It’s like The Killing, two detectives trying to find the murderer of a young child.

Apparently, Vegas has made the move to Friday nights on CBS, with it’s return/remaining episodes.

@Million
Melinda Clarke made an appearance on this past Friday’s episode.

I watched a show on PBS called The Mind of a Chef, which features David Chang and is narrated by Anthony Bourdain.
That pork bushi, a take on katsuobushi (bonito flakes for dashi stock), is a pretty interesting concept.

Oh hell yeah, I’m on that… last I saw of Ms. Clarke, she was a regular on Nikita. I’m behind on that show by a whole season, so I am not sure if here character is still alive there or not.

A&E had a marathon of Bates Motel last night, but I still managed to fall asleep before the episode I missed was on (episode #4).

*I think Vampire Diaries and the other CW shows are back to new episodes this week.

Would it really be a spoiler if I tell you whether she is still alive on Nikita?

Nikita is still going strong in it’s 3rd season btw. Not going to go into any details, but it is pretty damn good. There’s a few twists you can see coming, but it doesn’t matter since they’re all well executed in terms of the season’s big bad. Still there’s a few episodes left, so there are some things left that have yet to play out.

Any reality tv fans should really check out Australias My Kitchen Rules which is basically a cooking show but with 12 teams of 2 and 2 teams representing each state. The first 3 seasons were good but compared to season 4 that is airing right now they’d probably be considered really boring.

Usually on shows like this I always go for the contestants with the big personalities so if you watch it, don’t hate me for being an Ashlee and Sophia fan hahaha these girls have their cooking on point and they are the most entertaining team the show has ever had. Seriously, I mean I know all the talk inthis thread is mostly about shows like Breaking Bad and Mad Men but if you are into reality shows or cooking shows, this one is the show to watch.

I approve The Americans, only watched 5 eps really liking it.

Just caught ep2 of Hannibal, I’m looking forward to each episode like I did back in season 1 of Dexter, can’t recommend this show enough.

Ill watch Nikita for Melinda Clarke, if it all. Maggie Q isn’t a good enough incentive. There are way hotter hybrids out there (like Mandy Lieu) that they could main-character-force-slap onto an American show. We aren’t watching them for whatever talent they’re purported to have, at least IMO.

did you get to the scene with elizabeth and claudia (don’t remember which episode it was)? that was such an awesome “holy shit” moment. best scene of the show so far.

i’m watching hannibal but not really caring about it too much. davinci’s demons was ok. it’s very pretty though. it will probably be impossible for it to live up to my beloved spartacus but i will keep watching it for now. hope it doesn’t turn into another camelot though. i was going to try defiance to watch gaia (jamie murray) but the reviews on it haven’t been great so i think i will skip it for now.

Any promising new summer shows starting up? I know I’m elated for new seasons for certain existing shows, but is there any upcoming new series garnering some attention?

That’s a shallow motive for getting you to look at the show. But hey, if that’s what it takes for you to watch it (and in turn being surprised by it’s quality), then I don’t really care.

I’m going to try Hannibal out myself, i’m additionally waiting for the Dexter s1 right now because i just read the story and it sounds awesome. I normally use IMBD as a source if it’s worth it… if it’s less than 7+ stars then i’ll likely ignore it.

I’m only into 3 shows right now: Supernatural, Walking Dead and Game of Thrones… I will add a bit more to my list.

first 2 episodes were ok but I doubt Id watch more. these characters aren’t even interesting. and they suck at acting. the redhead is so bad lol. psychic is OK at best. he’s trying but he’s also a random nobody.

lately Ive been watching workaholic. its funnier than I thought.

it is fucking awesome. especially S1. why would anyone not watch dexter :coffee:

Us guys in the asian countries are not as fortunate with these tv shows which is why there are loads of pirated cd stands holding the series for a bout a 1$… I’m getting impatient already with the time of DLing the 1st season so after this i’m likeing going to one of the flea markets to by the rest of the series.

Holy fuck, that girl doesn’t put up with anybody’s shit, that was great. I really like the fight choreography in this show, there have been some vicious scenes.

Re. Hannibal, Mikkelsen who plays Lecter just has a great screen presence, the show is written pretty well in my opinion, you are constantly wondering what he is going to do next, and you can see there is slither of humanity within him even though you know what he is. Now we’re left wondering if he is supporting Agent Graham or he is trying to turn him into a monster like him.

So i’m starting with Dexter and i’m already at ep 5. Shit is good. The scary thing about this tv show is that Dexter is actually one of the guys i would want to be… which aint good.

Show is awesome though.
