Television General Discussion

Never seen Supernatural, but is it all religious and such???

It didn’t start off that way, but around the time I stopped watching it was getting into religious themes and I bounced. I personally take religion too seriously to have it used that way. I liked it better when it was just urban legend type stuff.

The great thing about that show to me was that it covered so much… I’m surprised it’s still on at this point…because the Winchester brothers have had to deal with just about every supernatural thing you can think of. Skinwalkers, vampires, werewolves, wraiths, the ā€œleviathansā€, different types of demons, Hell, gods, angels, I think there was a wendigo at some point… shapeshifters, a ā€œtrickster godā€, the biblical ā€œHorsemenā€ of the Apocalypse, Lilith(?), Cain, Death itself, and there was even a leprechaun a couple of seasons ago. There’s probably other stuff too but that was just off memory there. The show is also a mixture of serious, often very thematically dark episodes and episodes that are hilarious comedy gold…edit—haha, one of my favorites of all time was the one where Sam and Dean somehow end up in an alternate reality… a version of Earth where they were indeed characters on a popular show called ā€œSupernaturalā€, and find out they are actors Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki! Oh that was classic, man…

*sidenote–fine ass ā€œMaggieā€ from Walking Dead was on there in the early seasons as a character named ā€œBellaā€ā€¦it’s CW so of course there’s some incredibly hot girls thrown in for good measure.

seasons like 1-4/5 werent then they introduced angels. but even so they bounce around all supernatural themes including different countries different depictions of religious supernatural stuff. but overall christian/judaic versions of angels and god trump everyone.

So, after about 2,241 years, the new season of THE STRAIN will be on 8/28. The wait is so terribly long on that damn show…and the new season is apparently just 10 episodes. At this rate, the guys playing Eichorst and Setrakian might actually be dead before we get to season 4…and they’ll surely have to change actors for that kid yet again.

Ohhh and they need some fresh new hotness on the show now…
yeah

Spoiler

since things did not end well for the lovely ā€œCocoaā€ and the hot latina last season.

In other news, THE FLASH continues to be amazing, as usual. If you like superhero stuff and still have not watched this show yet you should be ashamed.

edit–oh and speaking of shows that took their damn time coming back— Beauty & the Beast apparently comes back for a final season?! haha I thought that show as canceled a LONG ass time ago…I forgot it ever even existed for a while, actually.

Looking forward to the new strain season… i take its going to be nuke winter/vamp world this season?

I gotta say I like watching the flash, but c’mon, it’s not THAT great. It’s like they HAVE to show at least some super power shit, but then it’s the same drama repeated over and over. Like 90% of the episodes have someone saying ā€œAre you/we ok? You’re acting a little weird.ā€

Also I don’t think I’ve ever seen a character more bitch-made than this Wally.

Final Trailer for Dreamworks’ Voltron Remake…

Person of Interest is back and I just binged on the 3 eps, so good.
12 Monkeys has been the fantastic for me, it had solid last season, this season has become more gripping as all the pieces come together. This week’s episode was a mind fuck :open_mouth:

POI came back?!

i aignt mad at all. i wonder if one of them will get replaced by the princess at some point.

heh, that brought back some memories… and at least it’s not the terribly lame other thing that was passed off as ā€œVoltronā€. I don’t even care which one originally was first… if it’s not the Lions version, it’s not real Voltron for me.

Surprised NBC gave the greenlight…

^sheeeeit, that will most likely get canceled SO fast (it sounds like a 1-time SNL bit to me)…especially since it’s NBC.

Anything Sci-fi related doesn’t last long on NBC.
I’m still surprised Grimm is on the air. I guess someone must be watching it

lol single white females that keep funding those stupid werewolf movies. they are grimms audience.

Muppets got canned. despressed

I’m not. NBC has a lot of success with workplace comedies. It’s probably the reason why they ordered the series.

whoah whoah whoah on The Originals just now… :wow: I can’t believe they just killed this major character like that… even in the context of what was going on, that was still like a bomb out of nowhere just now… holy shit… that’s 3 major character deaths just in these past 2 episodes.

ohoooooooo but THERE’S the curveball! This show, man… goddamn I love it…

The vengance… in on!!
