Sawada’s clearly only there as a joke, and no one’s voting for him. People are voting for Ingrid, so that gets me more upset.
I don’t think it’s a good idea to suggest a character for their playstyle. It’s probably going to get changed a lot in the transition.
But, assuming that there’s the same percentage of boring characters in both sexes, you’d still see a uniform distribution instead of all of women clustered at the top.
I don’t disagree with Jun or Kuni being popular so much as I disagree with shit like Oro being ranked below the bison dolls and Sakura (EXCITING CHARACTER DESIGN). If Jun is the most popular character or Karin is the most popular character, they probably did something right and interesting. But you really can’t say the same for every female fighter in the SF series.
But now I’m entering Thought Police territory.
But Final Fight is part of the SF verse and has been for ages now, or did Cody, Guy, Sodom, Rolento, Hugo and her own appearance in SF3 not get that across? Ingrid’s been in one non-canon SF game and was designed for non-SF game that most people prefer to forget. Its hardly the same thing. Its like if Morrigan appeared in the non-canon SSF4AE Ultimate Max! Edition, no one would claim she’s part of the SF verse now.
Personally it makes me sad that anyone is beneath the bison dolls. No one is more boring than them when you can just vote for, y’know, Cammy.
I had a dream last night that I was playing Q and his b2 was his b.mp and it launched and it was amazing.
Maybe yes… maybe not. We have yet to see the kind of game that TxSF will turn out to be (solo, tag or whatever). Plus, Harada and the Dev Team could always work from their base playstyle and bringing something pretty nice. Ingrid in particular could use her fireballs to extend juggles, since they’re angled diagonally - instead of a proper zoning tool in the SF games she’s in.
I do agree that between Oro and Sakura, Oro would be my pick - since he’s yet to make another playable appeareance, and Sakura is pretty much a given in the roster somehow. Luckily, the poll is only a tool for reference - and not something set in stone. <3
TxSF will not be canon either. So what difference does?
The fact Ingrid was playable on some sort in two different games (CFJ and PSP Alpha 3) is more than a solid base to pick her design notes and work something on it.
Any drama about the poll is dumb, the Tekken team knew right off the bat the most popular characters on the poll would be ones people haven’t seen in ages
That sounds like a hot dream, tell me more
Its a non-canon SF and Tekken game. Not SF and Tekken and any characters that have made crossovers with those, which is why I used the Morrigan example. The 5 PS3 characters in SFxT annoy me enough already.
He had Total Destruction as a non-super standing grab and it was roughly as mediocre as it is now but at least it didn’t cost meter.
Hnnngg yessss
call the devs and tell them to get on that
Technically, Ingrid is an “original” character. If Capcom really wants to, they can easily retcon her or something, bringing her to the SF verse.
Don’t be bitter due to “intruders”/guest character/whatever in the game. The more the merrier (especially to learn match-ups yay! <3)
I got CVS2 for like my 13th or 14th birthday. When I first saw the character select screen, my face exploded.
Even though this is not guaranteed, I’m pretty happy to see that piece of shit Rufus dead last lol.
More choices lead to less options.
Not always. It really depends on a series of factors.
If the Tekken series itself is an example, the huge roster of characters added a pretty good depth on the subsequent games.
Imo, he and El fuerte are the worst characters ever in the past years.
My wishlist:
SF:
- Q
- Alex
- Dudley
- Karin
Tekken:
- Armor King
- Jun
- Michelle
- Miguel
Top 5 SF (ATM): Karin, R. Mika, Alex, Ingrid & Q. If these 5 were in the game for sure -> instant buy, no doubt. They’d also actually would fit well in this system.
Wait… how does Poison’s background does not fit Street Fighter, when you fight her in Final Fight, which was suppose to be a sequel to Street Fighter?! lol
I just didn’t want her in, because she was more iconic as a background character and also I didn’t want the weirdo fappers to win…
I don’t want Ingrid in TxSF though. (Watch she get in)
Between her and Karin, I’ll take Karin and I don’t really care for her neither.
I already got my Chun, so just give me my Jun and I’m in there.
Tekken has superpower modes in it that function similarly to supers like this, for example if you connect with Bob’s full d1+2 he gets electric fists. I imagine Q’s total destruction would work in a similar way.
I’m not really as excited to see how SF characters will play in a Tekken game like I was for the vice versa in SFxT partly because I’m growing tired of Tekken and secondly because I don’t have as much of an affinity to SF characters that I do to Tekken characters. Since this game is far off I would probably feel like playing some Tekken again by the time it comes out.
It’s hard for me to see how many of these SF characters will play in this game just considering the mechanics in this games and the lack of moves that SF characters have. The average Tekken character has what about 80 moves at least? The SF characters will be getting a lot added to them and as a result might not feel the same. They’ll probably focus on a lot fewer moves for their playstyles. Considering a lot of SF characters have projectiles they’ll probably do something will the system to make projectiles more useful probably more like they are in SCV, but they will most likely pick a cast with the fewest amount of projectiles as they can, but of course they have to keep in the most popular ones.
I expect the roster to be like this.
Tekken
Jin Kazama
Heihachi Mishima
Kazuya Mishima
Lars Alexanderson
Asuka Kazama
Devil Jin
Law
Paul
Nina
Anna
Hwoarang
Chreddy
Kuma
Roger Jr
Alisa
Miguel
King
Street Fighter
Ryu
Ken Masters
Chun Li
Gouken
Akuma
Cammy
Blanka
Balrog
Zangief
Cody
C. Viper
E. Honda
T. Hawk
Makoto
Ibuki
Alex
Given what Harada’s done in the past I think there can easily be 60 characters in this game (30 SF, 30 Tekken). Many of the Tekken characters are completed and just be ported over to this game, especially with TTT2 being a recent game. Just tweak them and they’re all good.
What if he also puts Pacman and Megaman? Like, the real ones, fighting on their lonesome. That would be great. Tekken’s done wacky guest characters before, I don’t see why they wouldn’t do it here.
I’d put in the eight world warriors and four shadaloo bosses, six characters from SF3, four characters from SF4, six characters from the Alpha games and two from the Final Fight games.
SF2: Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li, Blanka, Zangief, Guile, Honda, Balrog, Vega, Sagat, Bison.
SF3: Alex, Hugo, Dudley, Elena, Ibuki, Makoto.
SFA: Adon, Sakura, Gen, Dan, Rainbow Mika, Karin.
SF4: Abel, Rufus, Juri, and (…groan…) Crimson Viper.
FF: Cody, Guy.
12 + 6 + 4 + 6 + 2… 30. Every SF game is represented. I think really they only have to make thirty characters since all the Tekken guys are present and accounted for in the engine already.
What if he surprised us though and pulled in literally everybody from Tekken 6 and then made ten more SF characters?
A game with 80 characters?! Be still my beating heart! I know that sounds crazy but given Tekken’s history of massive rosters it actually seems doable, especially if this game is gonna come out in 2014.

Any guesses? I’m thinking Ryu, Chun-li, Ken, Nina, Kazuya and Heihachi were decided first.
