Isn’t Ingrid just some Sakura rip off
They better not follow Capcom’s mistake on the disc-locked DLCs. Street Fighter X Tekken pissed me off. >:(
Ah thank you, I forgot about that poster.
So like, When did the Mishimas became super heroes?
After watching the Tekken 3D Movie, the only thing that came to my head is how Over the Top their powerlevel was
Since the beginning dude. You have to be super to survive a death drop.
Mega Manz.
Shit.
For some reason i always thought they were only Extremely Good Fighters.
But now that i’ve seen Heihachi powerbombing Kazuyan on Jin through about 4 floors my mind is kinda broken
Hahaha. Kazunyan.
Oh yeah.
My heart is EXPLODING with happiness for the STAGGERING amount of love I’m seeing for my main man “Q”. I wonder where all this “Q” love came from? (not that im complaining!) There are literally 2 characters in the SF universe that will make me buy ANY game they are attached too (which is good for my wallet, since they’re only in 2 games), and those characters are “Q” and Hakan.
How much do I love them? I fucking HATE SFxT, hatehatehatehatehatehate it, but I would have insta-bought it if “Q” or Hakan ended up in the roster. yeah, I’m willing to throw my common sense away for these two.
but now, to see Q in the top 5 of a poll that EVERY mainstream, casual SF fan will vote for, to see him at the TOP!? and too see him in easily more than half the “wanted lists” here? aw yeah, that makes me happy.
outside of personal LOVE, I can see both “Q” and Hakan working VERY well in Tekken. Both characters are not known for being very flashy in the SF universe. they dont have projectiles, no crazy anti-gravity jumping moves, no special fire or ki effects on their moves. stylistically, very sleek and to the point. Both come from footsie heavy games (SF3 and SF4) so their origin games support a Tekken style export. Both have good sets of normals, and Hakan even has a whole 2nd moveset’s worth of command normals, and Q’s “style” is loosey goosey enough that the tekken team could EASILY add more to him. just make it clumsy and hard hitting and BAM, great Q move. They both have metagames that are strongest on the ground, so transitioning to a primarily grounded fighter like Tekken wont change up their plan much. Both also have interesting mechanics that could transition in really cool ways.
Q has his taunt (if that doesnt come with him, you’ve left behind a big chunk of what makes Q), his stellar Juggle game (he was a heavy juggle character in 3s, so he’ll just get naturally jugglier in TxSF), and some cool super arts (especially “Total Destruction”. I can see that being WAY more effective in Tekken).
Hakan of course has his oil mechanic, which, IMAGINE THAT SHIT WITH 8 WAY MOVEMENT. JUST THINK ABOUT DAT. Oiled Hakan is slippery enough in 2D, in 3D, he’ll be TERRIFYING. His command throws already have some of that high/low game that Tekken command throws have, as well as a Oki throw game with oil dives. Oil slide would actually be pretty good in Tekken I bet. He already has air juggles into oil slide, so there are already combos for the Tekken team to take from. The only thing that might be hard to translate is his Ultra II, but that could literally be translated into a “Kick-counter” rather than an Air counter IMO.
so yeah, Q and Hakan. I want them inside this game [S]and me[/S].
.
Q is an underappreciated character. I’d love to see him extrapolated on and given more context. Ono said that he’s a “dead horse”, but, well, you know how everyone feels about Ono.
original character design (homicidal robot detective?) and an under-explored fighting game archetype (charge character/ Grappler combo)=** DEAD HORSE**
The shoto archetype which has been explored to the ends of the arth and back again= TOTALLY FUNKY FRESH AND IN NEED OF REVISITING!!!1!
fuck ono. that’s some straight up bullshit.
hopefully Harada has better taste in fighting styles.
Harada has much more professionalism and style, you may like what he does if Q gets in.
I hope ono has like a 2 percent influence on this game
I expect this game to turn out somewhat like SC5 where it has aspects that appeal to 2D fighting gamers.
thats actually a parody vid showing how stupidly lame it will be if it was just like tekken but with street fighters in it
like someone said the moves in 2D games create the character. what you guys seem to be expecting baffles me
I think the character transition from 2D to 3D is actually going to be ALOT more difficult than the reverse we see in SFxT. ignoring the difference in Moveset size between the series, this is literally a situation where they are given “incomplete” (by 3D standards) characters, and asked to build them up to proper fleshed out characters. because just 3Difying 2D characters will make for a GODAWFUL 3D character. 2Ding a 3D character, while not perfect, still theoretically makes a workable character.
like, as other have said before, how the flying FUCK will Harada make characters like Vega or Gen work? Even supposedly simple characters like Balrog fall apart once you realize all his shit is sidesteppable. How do you make him a fully fleshed out 3D character WITHOUT making him “Black Steve Fox”?
Ono had it fucking EASY translating Tekken characters to Street Fighter, and I really don’t understand why alot of reviewers and journalism sites make such a fucking big deal out of it. If Harada can **succesfully **translate most of the Street Fighter cast into a 3D environment and still have them feel like Street fighter characters, then I will be impressed not only as a fighting game player but also as a Game Designer.
I’m pretty stoked
Also, just something to keep in mind: Like Macarratti said, it’s easier to come up with new moves for Q because he has a very distinct and recognizable fighting style. This applies to other characters as well. This is one of the reasons that the characters chosen for TxSF (Outside of the auto-picks like Ryu) should be ones with unique-looking normals and fighting styles.
For that reason, I’m hoping we see either Necro or Dhalsim.
Also reassuring is how well Namco-Bandai is currently doing financially. Right now they are set to increase net revenue by around 90% in 2012 compared to 2011. Almost double (thank you, Dark Souls). They are also a richer company than Capcom already. I doubt they would be money-grubbing with us or troll us like Capcom has been seen to do lately with bullshit DLC or beta releases. They have the lead, so why not release a great product? I’m eagerly awaiting this.
Harada is probably looking at Capcom right now and laughing his ass off.
