El Fuerte could work. I just imagine a corny gimped version of El Blaze, in the Tekken engine.
El Fuerte do have potential - his run could be implemented in a good way to force mixups - high/low variations and a feint, for example - as well his throws being command-ones; making him a true mixup character in a environment best suited for this playstyle.
Because they haven’t even begun working on it. Harada’s current focus is Tekken Tag 2.
They started working on it, it’s probably just the art assets and brainstorming. Remember the Ryu and Chun Li models and footage?

The vagina advantage is in full effect on the OP’s results lists (I know, I know, they’re not the most recent ones). Apparently, it doesn’t matter how boring your design is, as long as you are born with two x chromosomes and aren’t a panda, you will have a fanbase that is bigger than anyone else’s.
Look at the top five characters in each list; three women for SF, four for Tekken. Look at the overall distribution of female characters; the lowest human female character in Tekken, Jaycee, is still not even in the bottom twenty. The lowest Street Fighter character (Juni, such a fascinating character) is the 27th lowest. Out of the fifteen female SF characters, eleven are in the top 20. People need to stop clicking out their votes with one hand.
Still, if Q gets in, I’ll be happy. I’m surprised by the support for him, but he really does fit into Tekken better than most SF characters do. The five I hope most to get in (without being obvious picks) are…
- Q
- R. Mika (She’s like El Fuerte, only she doesn’t make me want to rip my own ears off and is actually kinda funny. Kinda.)
- Urien (Well, at least I wanted to see Gill until it was announced that SF characters were having the traditional control scheme for SF. Dammit, Gil would actually be pretty damn cool with a Tekken control scheme.)
- Twelve (Because I would love to see how the hell he’d look in 3D)
- Go Hibiki (Why is he even an option on the poll?)
It doesn’t help that a lot of the male character designs are boring. On the plus side, a good gender ratio for females doesn’t hurt, as long the character themselves bring good/new gameplay.
And since there are more male characters than the female ones, chances are that the biggest number of “boring” character designs are the male ones too.
Jun and Kuni are not surprises in the ranking - since they will most likely never appear again in the canon games - so having them in TxSF is actually a godsend for their fans.
Why the fuck are people voting for Ingrid?
I wonder myself who the bloody hell would want Ingrid back. A character of her background doesn’t belong in Street Fighter. She is the very definition of Mary Sue.
I like her (and so other people - shocking, isn’t?)
And on the plus side, she’s a character full of haters - so it’s even better!
People used this same argument against Poison’s inclusion on anything SF-related - and as of today, you know what happened…
Screw the haters, I say: BRING THE TROLLISH MARY-SUE PSYCHO SOLDIER TO TxSF! 
How is Poison a mary sue at all? She doesn’t even have superhuman powers besides ‘owning a riding crop’, which kind of precludes her being a mary sue in a series in which Akuma punched a meteor out of the sky.
Of course, if you’re talking about DEVIL POISON, then that’s different.

I need to meet the people who use Poison to represent themselves. My life is not NEARLY interesting enough.
I don’t recall Poison being a god. A god who goes around claiming that she innovated the power source that has been long associated with Bison for years, solving Ryu’s internal struggle by just kicking his ass and transport herself into the far future to check on him. This isn’t even going into that she a leftover from a god awful game which is best left forgotten. Poison at the very least came from Final Fight which is SF sister series and had cameos in SF games.
Poison is not a Mary Sue. But her haters kept telling that she was not part of the “SF verse”/“unworthy” of being on it or something~ - lol you people, I really need to BOLD everything I quote?
Either way, her absence in the poll saddens me. But at least she got her proper debut.
She’s been in a fighter before, it’s her re-introduction.
That Final Fight game was atrocious, though. It makes CFJ a gem in comparison.
