Tekken movie coming soon

Movie was decent. As mentioned earlier it did have cheesy parts. When Xiaoyu screamed nooooo in a sad scene, everyone pretty much laughed. I’d recommend it to anyone interested in Tekken, but for entertainment value only.

I gotta admit, I alughed at that scene. It was filled with so much narm that you couldn’t help laughing.

@WINBACK
Does that include it being out of character in the live action movie? Didn’t the Williams sisters and Kazuya have a threesome?

Tekken is pretty Narmy anyway.

I find it weird when people go to a movie based on game and get a movie with a story on part with the source material. I haven’t seen this movie yet so I can’t honestly say but from everything I’m reading it sounds exactly like Tekken’s narrative. Cheesy and goofy as fuck.

Dem Tekken Girls, you know what it is time to do while watching.

Glad they making a movie tho. I probably buy it.

and who the hell picked the voice actors, why does kazuya sound younger than jin?

Negative. I’m a huge Tekken fan since back when Tekken 1 dropped. Difference between me and you, is that all the as you put it “Ling/Alisa/'teenage-animu-girl-plot”, didn’t bother me nor take me away from the movie. I enjoyed it for what it was.

This movie was gdlk.

Shout outs to my man WINBACK.

I was laughing my ass off the entire time. So bad it’s good. It was entertaining, so I can’t be salty. Fuck that new guy though. Waste of a character.

lol, I’ll agree with ya’ on that.
The movie was hilariously bad, the entire time me and my buddies were laughing (shit, even the crowd).

Some parts, I could not tell if the movie was being serious or not.
Like the shower scene, seriously, how the hell was that part suppose to be serious (after Xiayu leaves)?!

In reality, let’s be real: the movie was GOD AWFUL!
Your laughing 90% of the time, when there was like only 2 or 3 jokes in the movie that were supposed to make you laugh, but came as lame ass anime weeaboo jokes. Outside of that, the movie seemed like it was SUPPOSED to be serious, but holy shit… I just couldn’t take the movie seriously at all.

I guess all Tekken movies are supposed to suck, or something - Friend of mine after we left.

If anything, Lee is what had me laughing in the movie. Its amazing how Namco evolved his character from being the bastard adopted son of Heihaichi who hated Kazuya to being this rich, inept guy who throws a thumbs Up every time he’s on screen lol

^ You forgot that he’s somehow a school teacher now.

And they need to make his jumpsuit from this movie into a costume.

His english voice actor is what made the character for me at least. Him being a school teacher with zero students and yet he’s still teaching the class was good for a laugh too.

Yooooo,

Just remembered the best part of the movie.

“… I FAILED!”

dead

This type of mentality really gets on my nerves. Just because it’s based on a video game means it has to be completely shitty. That reminds me of the early 90’s comic book movies where they tried to make them as campy as possible

Eh It’s less about accepting shit (If this movies shit then it’s shit) and expecting more then you’re going to get. Gamer’s have a habit of setting their expectations way high when it comes to kind of stuff. I’m not saying accept shit, I’m saying set your expectations realistically. Tekken’s mad dumb narrativly, expecting much more then that is setting yourself up.

I am not asking for a oscar calibre movie or the Citizen Kane of videogame movies. I just want one to not fucking suck

As for Tekken’s narrative, I remember hearing a rumor [not sure if it’s true or not] about the writers leaving after Tekken 3. If that’s true, it would give a explanation of why the story for Tekkens 4-6 are the way they are right now [Too much focus on Jin, Kazuya wasn’t originally intended to be there, yet was put there because of fan demand and created all sorts of plot holes in the process, competent characters being reduced to joke characters, making it so even a plot important character like Wang in Tekken 5 [who actually has a connection to the game’s boss] wouldn’t get upstaged by stupid pretty boy Jin Kazama, Jin’s storyline in Tekken 6 being a rehash of Kazuya’s in Tekken 2, except less interesting and with liberties involved].

The narrative for Tekken wasn’t always that bad by the way [at the very least, I found the character’s bios and epilogues from Tekken 1-3 interesting]. It just became a complete mess after Tekken 3

I’m agreeing. You’re taking my initial post the wrong way. It wasn’t even really directed at any body.

You know i actually liked Tekken 4’s story. Tekken 5 was hit or miss for me. Tekken 6 focused too damn much on Lars and Alisa for you to even care about Jin.

I thought this was pretty funny. Like I said Panda Stole the Show!

Can we all agree that this movie was better than the live action one?

yeah it was but the live action one wasn’t that bad. My gripe with that one was how bad Kazuya was portrayed and Heihaichi not fighting.
