Tekken Movie Cast Confirmed?

hwoarang’s in the movie…dunno bout julie.

Fuck Gun Jack, it’s all about PROTOTYPE JACK. :shades:

This Is Good News.

Let’s just hope they don’t make him a Boxer and Steve Fox comes out kicking fools.

Yes this is true.

puts on shades

The funny thing is about Jin looking skinny on screen is that Jon is NOT a skinny dude. He is fuckin jacked in person. People talk about the camera adding 10 pounds, this time it seems to make him look skinnier. Maybe it’s cuz every other guy in the cast is bigger by comparison. But he’s probably bigger overall than Robin Shou was in Mortal Kombat, but Liu Kang wasn’t exactly surrounded by giants in that movie.

yeah by comparison he looks skinny. but lateef is fucking huuuge. short as hell but guns bigger than my body.

Guy is more than capable of pulling off Jin. He used to have a great photo of himself on his site showing how muscle bound and ripped he is. I will check with my mate see if he has it.

Whoa! Who edited the tropes entry? Can anyone confirm?

damn even japan wont risk it? sooo many americans are hyped for it…kinda odd.

wow, I don’t believe a 35 million dollar movie would go straight to DVD, even dragon ball evolution got a cinema release and tekken can’t be half as bad as that movie

oh yeah the name (dragon ball) kind of allows them to risk a cinema release doesnt it :bluu:

i dont believe it til an srker co-signs thats livin in japan.

well they released legend of chun li in 1000 screens, 100 screens shows that the distributers have absolutely no faith in the film

distributers had faith in kristen kreuk

That passage you quoted is no longer there. I assume it is bullshit, because logically it would be impossible, unless there was an actual boycott (which we would have heard about, and even then boycotts usually backfire and make more people go see it), for a movie released on over 100 screens to gross $7,000. Let’s just call it 100 screens for the sake of argument. That means Tekken would have grossed $1,000 a day, and $10 per screen. This is basically an impossibility, especially when you are dealing with a Licensed product that has a built-in audience and name recognition. In the USA, the record for the lowest grossing per-screen average is something like $84, for some basically straight to dvd no name awareness self-distributed crap. Tekken is not self distributed and has name recognition.

Also a movie’s performance in other countries doesn’t really have an effect on its US roll-out. Tekken was an American production and was picked up by Sony/Screen Gems I’m assuming with a theatrical guarantee.

i’m bringing this thread back because i just watched the movie. not a huge fan of the tekken game but i know the basic story of it. the movie on it’s own is ok. the fighting isn’t that great but it wasn’t horribly cheesy like video game movies tend to be. i didn’t notice too many moves from the game (aside from the eddy gordo character) in the movie but it looked like they did sorta ground tackle to armbar or something at some point so i guess that counts? i was waiting to see some law (they totally raped law in the movie btw) flash kicks or that kazuya unblockable spinning uppercut thing but it never happened =(

the casting was decent but they left out lei and paul who i thought were pretty major characters? anna and nina looked pretty good and christie was hot (those pants). jin didn’t look asian enough to me but whatever. i think johnny from the protector might have been a better choice for jin Johnny Nguyen. of course shang tsung made a decent heihachi but we never saw him fight.

lol i just watched it out of curiosity… not too sure of the Tekken storyline… it seemed almost post apocalyptic…kinda.

btw Christe, Anna and Nina were hot

where did you guys see this, is it out in cinemas or dvd?

It’s now available for download on the internet. To the torrent sites! dashes off

Apparently it’s so bad that it’s being released straight to DVD in America.

Yeh I heard distributers have been avoiding it like the plague, oh well. I just hope the fights are somewhat decent and entertaining.

It’s Kinda Like Tekken, But For Real

:u: lol Tekken actor gets into real fight completly batters opponent for hitting a woman.

It’s far better than the Chun movie.
