Tekken had a decent plot for a fighting game so this movie definitely succeeds in that regards. Shang Tsung has Heihachi was a good move.
Yeah, only that Tekken’s plot is not really all that special. Only if you consider how many times some characters cheat death… :looney:
I want me some Kuma! :wonder:
It wasn’t special but compared to say VF, Soul Calibur, and DOA the plot was simple and to the point especially with Tekken 4 since there wasn’t no mystical monster and it was just Heihachi as the final boss.
i dunno i think it did have a crazy plot…but then again everyone compares fighting game plots to street fighter. which always ends up being…we have a tourny to kick bisons ass.
Well, the Tekken backstories are ALWAYS interesting, but the thing is that most of the endings are basically comic relief and don’t really resolve too much of the characters’ original plot (Heihachi’s Tekken 6 ending is LOLERAMA)
nah most of tekkens stories are serious but then tekken 5 took a wtf turn. and then tekken 6 is 99% jokes. its the last two that went roflcopter.
Looks like there might only be one good video game movie this year.
Jin, Kazuya, Hwarong, Baek, Devil Jin, Zafina, Lars, and Alisa were pretty serious to the story. But yeah everyone else in Tekken 6 ranged from lol to “okay WTF was that”.
i was pissed about steve’s story. i wanted to see him develop more…i guess its kinda serious but not really.
I know the tekken story. there’s some substance there but unfortunately the only thing that trailer tells me is that the movie is very loosely based on tekken and I’ll only be able to sit through the first 15mins of it.
your loss.
Heihachi reminds me of Master Miyagi
yeah,bryan loooks badass
shit already has 9.4/10 on imdb(!?)
Trailer looks terrible.
A buddy of mine got to see some footage (I don’t think it was a screener/test), but he said it was terrible. He said they at least follow a “format”. I’m assuming he means the tournament format.
The problem with Video Game movies is everyone’s afraid to fully jump in. They never fully create the fantasy world to make it believable–to make us escape. It’s always half way–which makes the movie instantly not work. That goes for fans and non-fans.
It looks like Tekken had a small budget. Supposedly 35,000,000–but they usually lie about budgets.
Looks good, I saw lots of characters in respected clothing and more fist fighting. Way much better than KoF movie. For an indie movie, I expect it to be somewhat good.
Jin with a love interest. You can never dodge a love story in a fighting game movie, its just impossible.
Who is the caucasian Fu Manchu in your AV?
IMDB scoring system is broken you cannot take it seriously, site is filled with fanboys. If you want proper feed back Rotten Tomatoes is much better
That’s good to know.
I’ll be sure to post my positive review on Rotten Tomatoes.
My only problems so far is the guy playing Jin Kazama looks way too skinny to be Jin. Also I don’t like how the Iron Fist Tournament is held in some random underground factory with a bunch of people cheering. If that was one Character’s Stage it would be cool but not the entire Tournament. One of the best parts about Tekken were the Stages…You can’t leave out the stages.
And I haven’t seen the Roster or Cast List but Julia Chang has got to be in here. Her and Hwoarang…
And maybe Gun Jack…Pew Pew!!!
