TEKKEN 7 | Lounge

I’m sure I’ll get a few things from here once the game launches. Otherwise yeah just talk to some local people or go on Zaibatsu.

ikr? fuck, if i was able to do that as easily as he does i would be ecstatic. and probably a few thousand dollars richer from tourney money lol
not sure about the setup he was using but man, that insight on how to execute gdlk movement is gold.

Game apparently has less input lag than tag 2 which is good. I’m assuming all those people saying it had more earlier on were playing on laggy displays.

I noticed they were mentioning that at combo breaker. To the point where a player was checking the resolution before starting a match.

Funny thing about T7. It doesn’t actually have a tutorial.

So far to sum everything up.

The game have.

  • The main story
Now, I have played up to chapter 8.

The format goes as follows, you get a still image with a narrator saying some shit. Then you see a CG OR in engine scene then you play a fight. Now one of the really jarring things is that the scene before the fight is based on stories from the whole series.

So in one chapter you are watching CGI from Tekken 5. The exact same one with that GFx then suddenly it switches to in game GFX as you are about to fight. Some of the scenes are in engine with some hit and miss character models, some characters like Nina looks really weird in the in-engine scenes while others like Heihachi looks really great. Some characters like Claudio looks amazing in the CGI scenes while he looks kinda goofy in the in-engine one.

So far when the game uses proper CGI ( New one, not recycled crap from older games) it looks amazing. However, honestly so far. This is so weak compared to what was in Injustice, just couple of weeks ago. The difference in quality is staggering.

Also weird shit like Nina talking to her squad in English while her squad is replying to her in Japanese takes you out of any cinematic immersion they are trying to set. However fans of the series will likely get a kick out of it and it is still kinda fun.

  • **Arcade mode **
It is basically 3 fights vs AI in a best of 3 format. Then you fight Heihachi then Kazumi. There is no endings but you do get FM and unlockables at the end.

  • Treasure battle
This is basically ghost battle from T5 (i think). You fight endlessly against opponents in gear and as you win you rank up and after matches you unlock customization pieces and such.

  • Characters story.
Character stories is just like SFV’s characters story.

I have done Claudio’s and Katarina’s and so far it is just 1 fight with a wall of text before you do it. Then you see one in-game short scene and that is that. There are a total of 18 characters stories.

  • Gallery
The coolest thing so far is that you can use FM to unlock movies and CGI from all of the past Tekken games. If you really into the gallery stuff, then that is pretty epic for you.

That is pretty much everything i have experienced from the game today. I have tried online but the servers aren’t up yet it seems. It kept saying, can’t connect to the network.

@amrraed We could really use Julia / Jaycee… in this game…

As long as it has training mode or dojo it’s all good.

You can buy Jaycee’s wrestling outfit for Alisa, lol

Yeah, i feel so lost without my main in this game. I am just using Lars and Akuma feel weird.

Wait a minute.
THATS OK?

You’re the guy hating all over SFV for lacking content, but if T7 has only training mode is it ok?

Ok, thats it, I’m out. There is no logic behind this, were is the exit or the next window?

I know I’ll be playing some of Arcade and Treasure Battle hard so I can pimp out Jack-7 as soon as I can.
And then between that run through Story mode. Should be interesting.

Also trying to avoid anything video or text related to story spoilers. Want to keep shit fresh.

This has been a thing since tekken 5, everyone speaks their native language. Personally, i do find it immersive.

Tekken 4, when people actually started talking a bit more.
Though yeah, Tekken 5 was when there was a lot more character interaction that indeed had everyone talking to one another in their native languages. Even the animals (though running gag is that said animals can’t be understood by the human characters… only each other. And Mokujin).

Yup. There was an exception though… Paul and Kuma could understand each other in Tekken 5.

Actually, no!
Their Rivalry conversation in T5 was just insanely hilarious coincidence that sorta matched-up with the other…but here:

Yeah, humans in Tekken don’t understand animal noises. Unless if you’re in a Jaguar mask.

If I recall that was only English, Japanese and Korean in 5 with other language voice actors coming in TTT2, which I really like for that.

Except Lars.
Because screw Sweden. :>

Jesus Christ that sig

He plays a lot of fighting games, maaaan.

being a numbered sequel, bandai-namco isn’t obligated to put EVERYBODY in the game.
that’s what the tag games are for.
the current roster is what they intended to “complete” the plot they set up for this installment.

lars and miguel are in but zafina and lei wulong are absent.
"'tis the nature of the beast" as they say…

panda ftw, stupid hoomans!
lololol

Id say about a 85
because she has a sway learning to back dash cancel with her is hard
mixing that with hayshida step and other movement is tough

she has good punishment because she has a punisher for every frame up to -16 then you can punish with whatever so she actually has the unintended effect of being good for frame data testing. if you wanna see a visual effect of things being punished properly.
very abusive up close
strong mid game and great pokes up close she lacks range though have to be close and push range 0 to 1 is her intended range. theres alot more like sidestep jab cancels but im just giving you the tip of the iceberg for now so as not to overwhelm
