TEKKEN 7 | Lounge

It is back and deader than ever. Tekken 7 really did a number on Tekken Zaibatsu. I would not be surprised if it was reduced to a wiki and discord group in the near future. End of an era…

Qudans is one of my favorite Mishima players to watch. Kudos to him!

tekken zaibastu already had a reboot when the system crashed
even gamefaqs has more traffic then them lmfao but really reddit for t7 has gotten most of the traffic though i like this forum for being all purpose so i post here and we got solid posters here as well
but yeah TZ is pretty much a husk the only thing they should really do is archive and wiki for all tekkens and then they should collect the frame data
forum discussion can be had here, reddit, or discord

im gonna work on feng
i need a easy, good character for tournaments that way I can switch between mishimas and him if need be he does a good job against jack too

Anyone knows if it’s possible to record the dummy to do a move and then after you punish that move, block at the first possible moment?
For context:
I’m learning how to punish Ling’s California Roll follow up attack (the 3+4). So the move is -11 but she has her back turned to you. So the best punish would be a 10 string.
I’m trying to figure out here which of Paul’s 10 hit strings I can use to punish for max damage, and how far I can take it without eating a punish myself.
The combo counter goes up, but I kinda doubt that I can punish a Cali Roll for 90 damage.

Other than recording the dummy to hold back after performing the move via recording inputs (or pausing → set computer to auto guard right after the move is performed)… no.

This is one of the few things I wished training mode implemented. That and block punish retaliation.

Man, fighting Hwoarang is tough. Seems like you need a lot of experience to know when his turn ends. Had an hour-long set with a random Hwo-player yesterday, got destroyed at first and started learning things as the set progressed, but still seemed hard. The guy messaged me afterwards and said “thanks for being a good sport, that’s rare around here”, heh.

Does he have any obvious weaknesses or something he has to play around? At the moment I just approach the matchup by out-turtling him, but he has a fairly strong mid-range game and as well as approaching tools, so it’s not exactly easy to do.

I’m in the same boat. Being that I don’t play a lot. When I do come across one, I hope for a set. I usually get rekt first time or two. But I’ll start making reads and good guesses. And I feel like it’s more me just adapting to my opponent than any knowledge about Hwoarang in general.

I think I remember coming across a video by Tendo XI. He does some funny troll videos but he had a good technical video about Hwoarang and it didn’t seem to long. Probably some BnB stuff.

I mean it’s a a Guide for him. But I think there’s a timestamp for “when you’re facing him”.

That video was literally “backdash a lot and sidestep right. also duck his duckable strings, but not his mids because that’s bad and you die”

GEE WHAT INSIGHT D:

Make Ling do a cali roll and then a quick u~ub motion as soon as the animation ends. It’s a much faster way to go back to facing the opponent than just holding db.

(Think of u~ub as an upside down hadouken motion.)

Ling will eat whatever the punish is if it’s quick enough, but because she’s turned back to facing you, she’ll only eat NCs. Also, her bt parry starts up on frame one apparently.

Check Paul’s d1+2 to see if hits Ling if she does two cali rolls in a row.

That’s kinda… not what I had in mind. That video is aimed at beating random teal/green rank online Hwoarangs. The ones I play are quite a bit better than that.
I mean, some of this stuff is useful, but I’m rarely losing to any of those moves specified there (aside from maybe peacekeeper and the RFF plus on block homing power crush-thing, but I know how to deal with those too).

Sigh. Off to take a M.Sc-level course in anti-Hwo-stuff, I guess.

I wish they’d put back player information into quick matches.
I held off from ranked for a long time only playing quick matches, but after the update that removed player information I felt like wasting my time because most of the time you’d get to play against newcomers and shit.

In ranked you actually get people around your skill level and have to adapt and learn new shit, but it’s so fucking cancer. 2000 matches in quick matches and I maybe had 1 or 2 pluggers. Today I played a ranked session and 2 of 4 players plugged like the bitches they are.

Shit’s infuriating.

just bought Mario odyssey, GT Sport and the new AC Origins today
guess I will take a short break from t7 now

I was playing a few matches this morning and ran into an unranked player I got a funny message afterward. I was using Bryan and I never snake edged against this Law.

In all my years of playing, I’ve only seen complaints about spamming, I’ve never gotten a complaint over defensive play.

“R u gonna block or r u gonna fight?
Just stands there and waits for me to charge like wtf
Youre not playinng tekken championship take it easy geez”

I invited him afterward but he said he just joined a tournament but I can add him later haha.

I got a called a “turtling bitch” once for blocking and punishing dragon tail.

Against T6BR Law…using T6BR Jin.

Truly an honor.

Does the tekkenbot frame data overlay doesn’t work with the newest patch?

I haven’t play tekken for more than a month and that tool was super usefull.

Hopefully it gets update to 1.07 patch

Yeah hasn’t been updated for over a month now. If anyone knows a substitute, please share.

Took a while for them to finally get this game out. Took 4 delays and many months but it held up quite nicely.
Will be putting many hours into it.

welcome on board, feel free to list yourself up in the user thread.
