From my time trying her out on an emulated T5, I found her super fun to play. Looks unique too. And her moveset is her own. But I guess I’m in the minority.
But hey, let’s replace Marduk with Gigas, who has no personality whatsoever. And add in Chloe, who just pisses most people off ever since her reveal. GG, Harada! You fixed your problems real good.
tekken tag 1 and tekken 5 are the faster games
JDCR started playing tekken at tag 1 he just wasnt a name guy. not to mention the internet hadnt expanded to what it is now. alot of the old school players that i talk to have matches on vhs lmfao
one guy lost alot of the old local recorded matches around here which is irritating to say the least. youtube the main source of our online programming didnt really get started till 2005 which is tekken 5
thats why its so impressive what knee has done and qudans resurgence. you are talking about a decade + of being dominant at the game.
yeah he started at tekken 1. but jdcr told in an interview he is not serious back then. yes qudans and knee are impressive. i am also very impressed with jdcr reaching 20 straight grand finals and in these tournaments jdcr played against many strong asian players. i think jdcr reaching 20 straight grand finals and winning 15 of those is the most dominant thing i have seem at tekken tournaments scene.
Also shows that the game is very skill-based with little to no luck involved at the highest level. Which is encouraging for players but in terms of spectating it seems to be a bad thing. People constantly bitching about Jack and even Dragunov sometimes.
Just goes to show that the average stream spectator doesn’t give a fuck about the best player winning, they just want upsets everywhere to stay entertained.
true. many casual players want to be entertained and does not understand the skills involved at playing tekken. but players like jdcr, nobi, knee etc have many fans.
No body was serious at tekken 1 knee said similar things in a interview
Most of the Koreans started to take it more seriously in tag one where most of the mishima tech and movement was put on display.
dreamhack denver is today! idk if any other players outside of america are in it.
i guess the biggest issue as a player is to reach that point to be a high level player by learning all the chars/counters and approaches for them which actually drive some people away because they dont want to invest the time to learn all that stuff.
i really wonder how a tekken would be receiced when you cut down the movelist and get rid of all the “gimicky” stuff which doesnt work at a higher level.
as a spectator its not just about upsets…you want to see competition. high level play is of course great to watch but when you already know the outcome its
not so entertaining that you rather start to skip tourney instead to watch them all. a healthy back and forth is in my opinion important and people seem to level up already to beat the two top player.
Then you’d have Soul Calibur.
Honestly that series is missing in the 3d world.
I fucking loved that game.
It’s super easy to play, very intuitive inputs, has very fluid movement without a execution roadblock, cool and diverse characters and yet it has a lot of depth.
Sadly Namco ran it into the ground and it didn’t pick up a lot of competitive steam.
ah, good to know.
didnt know how the soul calibur series evolved or is played.
i played sould edge when i was young but on a level where i had no clue what i am actually doing.
like all the t1 player who claim that they dont like juggles and back then everything was better …steam forum are fun :3
isnt there a rumor that they might bring out a new one?
something about publishing rights in the europe/us got leaked…or something similar…dont even know where i read it.
Had a great long 3 hour session with my friend yesterday , played 60+ games.
Our hwoarang ling matchs reached uncharted territory, what I mean by that is I finally adapted to his stuff, and made him pay for it big time, plus I had specific counters to some setups. Then he figured out the counter to the counter .
RE: Good to see Hwoarang vs Bryan in the Finals of Dreamhack with Speedkicks vs Mr Naps. Definitely my two of my favorite players alongside besides Qudans and Low High.
It’s funny how Naps didn’t play a single tournament the whole fucking year since console release, then shows up to two tournaments and qualifies for the finals.
seems the tekken zaibatsu site/forum is down since a week and no one knows why.
gave it a visit a few times but wasnt active there, does anyone know if they come back?
