You forgot to put up the other posts that include Harada adding a muscular skin-head as well. Because apparently we’re cool with that.
Kuma/King/fighting robots/Paul’s hair have been around since the first game. If anything, they’ve gotten more serious over time if adding a human boxer after a kangaroo one is any indication, as well as the Mishima plot apparently coming to an end.
I appreciate the humor the series has always had but the thought of having all those Chloe trolls in online was making me cringe. It seems like in every Tekken there’s been at least one troll character. Harada needs to knock it off with the silly characters and be a little more realistic without sacrificing the personality of the game. So the “soft launch” coming to JP arcades in Feb…When’s the Mishima Saga (T1 - T7) Special Edition box set for pc coming out? Kreygasm
So you’re totally cool with a boxing kangaroo, a baby boxing kangaroo, a farting dinosaur, a man with a jaguar head who speaks in feral cat sounds, a Cossack-dancing robot, Devil Jin, Lars, Alisa, Xiaoyu, Dragunov, and every other retarded-ass character Tekken has squirted out since day one, but somehow, yet another cutesy girl character is a step too far? What’s the difference between Lucky Chloe and Xiaoyu, Miharu, Asuka, Lili, and Alisa?
I feel like the implication with that original post was that somewhere in the past Tekken was a franchise that one could take seriously at a glance. From what I’ve been seeing/hearing, people are pissed at Chloe for the design. Makes me wonder if someone like Panda, Alex, or god forbid Tiger were in her shoes instead.
I’m just going to come out and say she disgusts me. I have other reasons to dislike her but this is the main thing. There’s this thing called the Uncanny Valley and she’s triggering it for me. I feel that she was poorly designed if she’s supposed to be a normal human. I would feel more comfortable looking at her if it turned out she was an alien spy trying to take over Japan or a life-size doll given a soul.
My thought on character reveal is this
If you have classic characters WAITING to be revealed
Then the newer character has to be close to being as
interesting as the classic character
This isn’t the case compared to nina, jin shes shit
Utter waste and you could be showing and revealing more classics and instead you trot this cat, loli, stripper…
Man I don’t know what the fuck she is all I know is that my people need to be shown
I’m pretty sure I just said that Tekken’s had shitty characters before. I just find Lucky Chloe to be, by far, the worst of the lot. She takes everything I hate about Japanese character design and cranks it to 11.
As far as I’m concerned, nothing. I don’t like any of them. “Cute” characters just annoy the shit out of me.
doesnt even look remotely close to being as fun as ttt2. i dont care about the sparkles and enhanced graphics. new characters look like king of fighters rejects heh.
It’s more so of “been there, done that” mentality. Tekken already had a good chunk of otaku/weaboo girl characters, so Lucky Chloe is just breaking the straw on the camel’s back.
And yeah some of the older Tekken character designs (Jack, King, etc.) are indeed ridiculous (yet badass), but they don’t fit into the “overly obnoxious Japanese girl” schtick that has been worn out in this series.
Fighting animals has always been a theme in martial arts (see wrestling bears, or Mas Oyama fighting bulls), so wild animals are legit characters, funny moves and farts aside, and we could argue similar logic for Jacks and fantasy monsters as long as they look like something epic to fight. Oh, and King is a wrestler whose animal theme is part of his wrestler persona plus some mystical stuff. They’re not comparable to Lucky Chloe in the slightest.
Actually, I’d take out Lucky Chloe, Alisa, Xiaoyu, Asuka, Lili, Lars and Claudio, and I wouldn’t care if they took Anna and Katarina with them, possibly Bob too.
For Xiaoyu and company, I’d actually settle for them not acting like 4 years old kids. I don’t really have anything against teenagers; I’m completely ok with Street Fighter’s Makoto.
first thing i thought when i saw her was wtf. when i saw gameplay i immediately thought lili. so…
next.
sorry but as an american the bald guy with strong attacks as a substitute in his mind for americans complaining about lili’s palette swap is baffling to me. thats what he thinks of us? thats what we like?
personally, i went from nina and lei (tekken 2, 3, 5) to alisa (tekken 6). in 3s i play oro, ken and hugo. mvc 1 strider/spiderman or strider/ryu. mvc2 strider/doom/sent, mvc3 tron/task/sent umv3 task/frank/sent. etc. etc.
and i don’t know anybody that fits that stereotype. he should embrace the l and keep it moving. she’ll be one of 56 i’m sure. its not a big deal but its still wack that she looks like another lili.
