IMO

Would you guys recommend me some notable Xiaoyu players to watch? Thanks in advance.

Tanukana
Princess ling
Cuddle core
Sodom
Those are mainly the ones you wanna watch
More so the first cause I havenā€™t seen any footage from Sodom in tekken 7 but heā€™s old school
First three are good they play really tricky but still have their setups and guarantee stuff at the wall

Do u actually think that just cause Tanukana lost to a Claudio at Evo that he is answer to beating Xiao cause he really isnā€™t.

Also Bryan is just an overall better and easier to use character than Hwo which is probably why u have better results with him

Started playing Xiaoyu after realising nobody really uses fireballs as Akuma so my reason for playing him was kind of nullified.

Trying to do my homework figuring out how to deal with each characterā€™s strings and recording it so others donā€™t have to spend hours in training trying to AOP everything to see what works and so that I can actually remember all that shit myself.

Sanada: Prior to Evo, I was already thinking that Claudio would be a good character versus Ling. I felt more strongly about this in discussions with my friend as he mentioned Claudio was a problem. Then come Evo, when Tanukana lost to a Claudio playerā€¦I was not too surprised. Ling is very strong but also overrated in my opinion in the sense that people donā€™t understand her. Most people accept that she is good and never played against her in old games.

Why do you think Claudio isnā€™t good against her?

Iā€™m definitely using Bryan over Hwoarang against Feng, Nina, Asuka, Kazumi. I can power through in other matches I donā€™t like IE law, paul, xiaoyu with Hwoarang.

I donā€™t think Claudio is bad against her or good. I donā€™t really tend to think about this game in a match up way. If I lose to a character itā€™s cause I wasnā€™t prepared enough, I donā€™t think changing character is going to help unless my opponent lacks knowledge of the character Iā€™m switching to in which case I am just abusing the fact they donā€™t know shit which doesnā€™t help me in the long run.

Thatā€™s why he will be my 3rd tier character  gimmicks only

Iā€™m actually good in ling mirrors but I donā€™t enjoy playing her.

Ling isnā€™t overrated
She is definitely where everyone puts her in at least top 3

Top 5 is Dragunov - Xiaoyu - Leo - Devil Jin - Bryan imo.

Might not be in that order, but youā€™ll have to look a long time for someone who disagree with that top 5.

Case in pointā€¦

she was top 3 to me, then top 5, now I donā€™t think sheā€™s top 5 anymore.

But general consensus on Top 5 is what Naeras mentioned above.

My ā€œTop 5ā€ would be

Dragunov
Feng
Xiaoyu
Paul
Leo

Not really seeing Bryan as Top 5, not since they nerfed Low Soccer Kick anyway. Feng is a beast also I figure heā€™d be in more peopleā€™s Top Tier lists anyway.

I mean the cast is extremely close. They arenā€™t top by a lot, thereā€™s chars like Kazumi, Law, Steve, King that are stupidly good still. Jack still gets underrated despite maybe having the most consistent tournament placings as a character. New chars like Claudio, Shaheen and Katarina that are blatantly good.

Only characters people would argue arenā€™t really viable are Gigas and Chloe.

Is it still possible to unlock bikini customs? I read from somewhere that Namco stopped it because it was blocked?

While we are on the discussion of tiers and characters with high potential, what would yaā€™ll say about your top 10ā€™s?

What makes you rate Paul so high?
Simply interested because I play the guy, and havenā€™t quite found out what makes him so scary.

Canā€™t be Demo Man and Phoenix Smasher only.

Drag, Ling, Leo, Devil Jin, Bryan, Feng, Paul, Steve, King, Jin.
If someone claimed that Hwo or the remaining Mishimas belong in the top 10, I wouldnā€™t argue against it, however.

Heā€™s just a good character in most ways. Solid space control, good and somewhat unorthodox poke game (lots of cancel options), a very strong punish game, huge damage output, and heā€™s fairly open-ended in how to play him. Heā€™s quite well-rounded and rewarding by playing basic Tekken, but he also has the ability to flip the switch and turn on complete retard mode and take people by surprise

anyone got a link to the full match?

I just played my first competitive match using Claudio for the first time ever and against my friends ling.

I beat him 3-0 easily and I donā€™t even know how to play Claudio.
