Yeah, that’s the input I use. It feels a lot more awkward to do with Kaz than with DJin because if you screw up either the input or the timing you get a MS. It’s just one source of error that DJin doesn’t have, so it feels a lot easier to do (especially if I do it fast); my first attempt on WDing with DJin was smoother than anything I’d ever gotten before with Kaz.
The fact that the MS is part of the “shortcut”-crouchdash Kaz has makes sense though.
I concur. The naming conventions were established since T1 by series creator seeiichi ishii and the og dev team since it was all in Japanese which was then translated (sometimes very literally) into their English counterparts regardless if it was grammatically correct or not.
Hence, WS is just that: while rising in perfect ENGRISH or something like that lol
Instead of whining about notations, practice moar ya noobs LOLOLOL
Well, you have to sort of cancel the ~n portion of MS into the hadouken motion so that MS will NOT come out. Kaz already had MS since T2 btw so that’s how I learned to avoid MS by mistake. Just keep on it and you’ll get there.
I thought back then Heihachi had the runaway sidestep move (that he still does have to this day).
Wouldn’t that make him the actual first with a sidestep?
kazuyas miststep gives him the input necessary for perfect EWGF
only way you can launch punish -13 from standing position
also is the only way you can connect df2 counterhit into ewgf for massive damage.
its notoriously difficult to land seeing as the opponent is only standing for one frame after the crumple stun
the input is the same as otgf and jfsr
f,n, df2
evasive properties too but its better to regular sidestep since you arent moving forward as you would with the mist step.
you’re referring to hei’s shadow step (b,b+3+4) which was introduced in T3, kaz had mist step already in T2.
MS isn’t even a TRUE sidestep, it’s a random left or right albeit automatic SS everytime iirc
universal SS for the whole cast was made possible only in T3 also
I feel to learn this game properly it’s a good idea to play against the same players playing the same characters repeatedly.
Got trouble with 1 move> Research> Try to apply in next match.
Then rinse and repeat that shit, and go over to the next character when that movelist is solved.
There’s so many pieces to the puzzle of Tekken, I think approaching it one at a time is the best solution.
I often get bored and just jump into ranked though, but getting gimmicked out in this game is kinda fun, especially if you have the solution to that in the next encounter, or if your opponent destroys your gameplay and you have to find a new one.
I had one of those yesterday. Barely lost the first match to a Hwo who kept mashing constantly when I tried to be clever about things. Then I just started doing d/f2 constantly to CH him. Took all the three following rounds in a grand total of 10 clean hits, two perfects involved.
Noo, at first I thought I’d take your word for it, but Heihachi’s Shadow Step just looks so archaic… so I searched around for an old Tekken 1 movelist.
Sure enough, there are a number of lists on Gamefaqs that show that yes, Heihachi was the lone first side-step character from Tekken 1 (literally just b,b,b).
hmmm, will have to check this out since my PS2 is in storage. i’ll fire up T5 and go into arcade history when i get a chance.
the command you described seems to be shadow step and not a TRUE SS move since it will have to move hei off-axis coming from neutral
really haven’t bothered to check hei’s movelist at all tbh.
You have to play against the same character over and over again
I didn’t know jack shit about Eliza but after about 20 matches i now recognize her animations and how to punish accordingly
Shut her down afterwards
