Tekken 7 announced

But you never grow tired of Street Fighter games cause you know, there are so few of them right? Right?

This thread makes it real easy to find out who plays Tekken and who doesn’t. :coffee:

And it makes it real easy to find out who knows their shit about fighting games period and who doesn’t. People act like Tekken 6 is a juggle fest…at low levels…yes. Yes indeed it’s a juggle fest, but because of your skills. At high levels…not so much. Go watch SBO 08 when Fukusu and that Lili player fight. You’ll see about 80 percent of the time the two are poking and punishing.

I really didn’t think Namco would announce T7 this fast. I’m looking foward to playing it. I loved the gigantic roster and the new characters for T6. Gameplay felt responsive and solid. At first I wasn’t feeling the rage system but it definitely grew on me watching arcade vids in '07. Then when I finally played the game I was loving it just as much as T5.

Although, when SFIV came out in '08 and I saw that damn revenge Ultra system…I was like: “C’mon guys your killing me with this super comeback for the win shit.” lol

It’s funny that people are actually complaining that T6 is annoying and cheap!

I could think of recent fighters that is more annoying and cheap than T6!

Haven’t played much Tekken 6, but I did like it.

So, this announcement is on the money. Can’t wait to see it.

Lets see a Tag2!

i respect the game play of tekken series but the storyline … ZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzz

Please get the roster down to 25+5 new characters. So many idiots can be removed from the roster. It should look like this:

Heihachi
Kazuya
Jin
Devil Jin
Lars (I dont like him but he is now an integral part of the story so they cannot replace him)
Hwoarang
Bryan
King
FOREST LAW
Paul
Lei
Steve Fox
Feng Wei
Raven
Dargunov
Lee
Yoshimitsu
Julia
Ling Xiaoyu
Christy
Nina
Anna
Leo
Asuka
Marduk

  • 5 New Characters.

Add this plus a tag mode to replace the scenario bullshit and the core of the game will be fixed. They should also change the online. A lobby of 8, team battle, a tag mode and a team tag mode where 1 player controls 1 character so we can have 2on2 battles.

This is just my opinion but I doubt it will happen…

I’m down for T7, I’m happy Namco decided to go with a new game rather than an incarnation.

SupaRubz, that list is fail without adding Miguel. Japan needs manly characters to balance their emo bullshit ones.

Just…don’t tell me Zafina is dead

please no

my love for her transcends tiers!

My thoughts…

  1. I’d rather have SC5 over T7… say what you want about the quality of SC3 and SC4 but I enjoyed them and had a blast playing them with my circle of friends. I could care less if the pros have their specific gripes with them that I’m barely bothered by. They were FUN (4 more than 3) and that’s what makes a game good to me. People seem to care very little about how much they actually enjoy games these days and more about what all the top pros tell them are the flaws of the game.

  2. If there’s going to be another Tekken, I’d rather have Tag 2 (as many have said already). Tekken 6 was good but I honestly don’t see what they can do to 7 to really differentiate it from it’s predecessor. Changing the juggle system could prove interesting, but still Tag 2 would give the series more attention.

What we find fun is the competitive aspect of the game. If it is lacking in this regard, it is not fun for us.

If you want to mash buttenz pointlessly, that’s fine. Play those games. But don’t act as though we’re not looking for fun just because we demand something more refined.

We’re brothers. Pretty much nailed my thoughts on Tekken *and *Soulcalibur. When it comes to fighting games people seem to have missed the point, forgetting that these things are still videogames subject to conventions intended to sell them to the majority.

Because he’s obviously a button-masher who doesn’t want a well made fighting game. Yeah, that’s a rational reply.

This

Double post strikes again.

I can’t see why one would consider the ridiculous juggles of Tekken (6) any more refined than what a potential SC5 could offer. I’m not a tekken pro by any means, but I’ve read/watched enough on tekken to get the jist of it and honestly the tekken scene hasn’t done anything to impress me. IMO, a competitive SC4 match, even though everyone seems regards it as shit competitively, is more exciting to me than a competitive T6 match. Last evo, despite the wave of Hilde players, was quite entertaining and clearly showed skill and dedication to the game just as with any other game people embrace, such as the obvious street fighters. If Namco/Project Soul put good effort into another sequel and gauged/researched the community’s current thoughts on the series while developing it, I’m quite confident that they would come up with something respectable. But instead of getting a sequel to the series that hasn’t gotten attention in two years, we get another jugglefest. Whoop-de-doo.

But I’m not here to hate on tekken or disrespect the pros who play it over SC, I just want to give my thoughts and vent on how I’d rather have SC5. That’s my preference, and while I’ll inevitably invest time into T7, I’m sure I’d have more fun with SC5.

Soul Calibur series is a joke. SCIV got booed at EVO the other year, and it was justly deserved.

And this thread is about Tekken anyway, so drop it.
