But this thread, ok, well I know not everyone is familiar with Tekken, many newcomers and such, but now it’s kinda like, “Let me think of anything to ask.” I fielded many questions early on, but some of the more recent ones and statements, I’m kinda just like “wtf” at. Again, I don’t want to discourage anyone from asking absolutely anything, but I just now see what kind of population the game has, at least on SRK lol.
For the record, this question among many others and statements, about “do tournament players take non-human characters seriously?” Scaves even asked about Jack. JACK. Like wtf lol. Real talk, if Tekken had a character that was a ball-sack, and it was playable, I’m pretty sure people would own with it, since Tek is pretty good on the balance and making every character playable and effective(DR onwards). So I guess to answer that question, yes people take ALL the characters seriously. Especially Roger and Jack. Sleeping on Roger would get you fucking beasted, quickly. AK probably gets less play in a major DR tourney than any other character, and thats only because of his glaring weaknesses. Someone might laugh if you pick Moku against them in a tourney but I’ve saw that. And dude went like 2-2. Tekken is pretty serious business. Whoever you may consider a “joke” character, even they kick ass.

FlyMike: To you and me, they’re “huh?” questions, since we grew up with SF being the game. Other people have grown up with Final Fantasy being the game, so this “fighting is serious biznez” thing is really new to them. But FG’s are still a very small part of VG landscape, so if fielding a few questions help grow the community, why not, right?
(I mean, one look at VF outside of Japan is the perfect example of what happens when a community dies.)

I sometimes hold 3 and 4 and then press 1 whenever the opportunity arises, or hold 1 and press both kicks. Basically it’s like playing a circumcised Balrog.
For WD/BD, man it’s too easy for me but not for others I pad. I can’t explain it really, other than the fact my hands get tired quicker WD’ing/BD’ing on stick. I’m more relaxed on a pad, sittting down.

No you can’t win with non-human characters. Especially now. Bryan has a gun and can shoot the animals. Just turtle for the robots to power down (around the 5 second mark) and go combo crazy.
Buffering Bryan’s taunt on pad on wall is insanely easy to do. After enough practice it’s easy to do from pretty much anywhere once you get used to it. Still crippled as fuck compared to a stick though. Unless they add macros for three buttons which they haven’t since the series inception so I wouldn’t count on it.

P. Jack would be obsolete. Jack-5/6 has nearly everything he had. If they did for some completely nonsensible reason brought P. Jack back, they’d have to do a bigger retune than when they brought back Bruce in 5.0(setting him from the Bryan theft), or AK in DR (setting him from the King theft). Lol what the fuck are you gonna do for P. Jack? Shared moves are expected but I don’t think he’d have any originality. Maybe a few flashy throws, standard braindead Jack combo, and that’s it. And why would they need to bring back a PROTOTYPE? That’d be some creative story writing.
I’d say bring back Kunimitsu but it’s like, why? Raven is a much cooler version than her in every regard except that he doesn’t have breasts. I still want Jun back. Fuck Asuka.
