I just did. My choice is obvious. Is that you at #1?
best screen from the br preview is def king and duck facing aking in the field…
If you lose in the tournament you’re eliminated. Therefore Jin WON the tournament, he beat hworang. You have to follow Jin’s storyline events, because he won the tournament.
In 3 I believe they did fight, yes they did, Hworang was doing street fights for cash, and Jin stepped in and beat him.
Not neccesarily. Hwoarang’s storyline goes by beaten Jin in a fight, but Jin wasn’t OUT, just down for a second and here comes Devil Jin beating his ass and Hwoarang got knocked out. Hwoarang comes back and wants to fight this “Devil” Jin. That’s Tekken 6 for Hwoarang anyway.
however Jin’s storyline goes, he beats Hwoarang in a fair match without the devil. Wouldn’t exactly make sense if Hwoarang in Tekken 5 is after Jin for a rematch then going after devil THEN suddenly go after Jin’s devil in Tekken 6.
I believe some characters at certain plot points are cannon. Maybe Hwoarang’s ending is cannon without winning the tournament? Kazuya’s plot in Tekken 4 was cannon til after Heihachi leads him to Jin although Jin’s plot was entirely cannon I believe.
Wasn’t that before the KoIF3 started? Jin did beat Hwoarang in a street fighter, just before Tekken 3 started.
Well, I wasn’t necessarily disputing that idea, merely pointing out that while we all believe that Zaf is the weakest girl, someone actually qualified in a tourney with her.
Now, seeing as that was a 3-man team, Zaf may very well be the weakest link. That’s why I joked about it being a “glimmer of hope” for Zaf players. :wgrin:
Huh?
Hold on. I’m sure I still have the old Tekken 3 manual, and IIRC, it went something akin to:
Hwoarang was part of a gang that would lose deliberately in order to up the betting pot, until they got to Hwoarang (and the pot would be at its highest), and then Hwoarang would win everything back.
(Rumors say that Mr.Naps is Hwoarang IRL.)
IIRC, he ran up against Jin, and the two fought to a draw. Hwoarang was impressed, and wanted to fight Jin again, and had to enter the KoIF 3 to do so.
Then, IIRC, the cannon went:
T3 = Jin won. Becomes a bird and learns how to fly.
T4 = Jin won. Becomes a goth-metal posterboy (chains, eyeliner, and tattoos?)
T5 = Jin won. Becomes a Soprano.
Ignoring the sticks/bundle stuff, and focusing on the game itself, it there any real reason to pick the PS3 version over the 360 one (or vice-versa)? I know this is asking a lot, but I’m hoping this doesn’t become a console war. I have both consoles and am wondering if anyone has heard of any console specific pluses or minuses, for example, like VF5 did. On one hand, I’ve always been more comfortable using the PS controllers to play Tekken (don’t start with the whole padz sux, stickz rulez stuff), and on the other hand, I prefer Live to PSN. I’m only curious if anyone has heard of any differences between the 2 ports.
Actually now I think about it, it was a draw. But thing was if the gang would lose, the Hwoarang would step in and win all the time. That’s where Jin comes in, makes a draw and Hwoarang vows to never lose again. Something like that.
As of tekken 3 Jin always wins.
I think all of us should get together and make the fan-written “Tekken” book from tekken 1 to tekken 6
Of course
hey MYK, do you know the current tier list right now?
Any console-specific character changes? hurd lars getting toned down
While we’re doing storyline stuff, could somebody clarify Jin’s conception?
Jun and Kazuya got it on cuz Jun felt a “mysterious compulsion” drawing her to Kazuya. Was it love on Jun’s behalf (and Kaz taking advantage), Kazuya luring that ass with devil-powered mind control, Kazuya rape rush-down, or mutual lust?
Mutual but awkward
I hope not. Lars isn’t even close to top tier. Slow ws launcher, no sweep that KND’s on normal, and combos that have a reasonable chance of whiffing (uf+4, f+123~d, 1… comes to mind).
There is nothing wrong with Christie/Eddy, in DR or BR!
A video of a high-level Zafina player was posted by another poster a few pages ago, here it is:

Here is another one, but Steve player doesn’t seem to be familiar with Zafina:

Let’s wait for Crash to see Ccer’s Zafina. He is a bottom-tier hero after all.
DR or BR, you play anyone. Except noone brings AK to DR tournies. BR shows everyone love. although some 6.0 peeps got hit with the nerf bat kinda hard in BR. Unless something is discovered later on, EVERYONE is very playable and able to win big.
Play who you like. Really.
Except Alisa.
Actually that’s quite the opposite. he’s pretty top tier I think. Something about nerfing ff4 or whatever because ff4 into jab or something like that was a bit too good, I gotta ask my friend again. isn’t his ff+3 his sweep? and he has other launchers like ff+4 or whatnot.
Then again
I don’t play Lars, so again, gotta ask and go back to the arcade to play more of him.
If you dont play him how do you know?
No fast launchers, slow lows, no great pokes, no really threatening mids, etc. Got a good crush in u/f+3 though. He’s basically a wait/bait and punish chara who gets big damage off your fuck-ups.
Well ive never played BR, but as far as Christie in general shes been lacking a few things that really prevent her from from being top notch:
-safe quick punisher
-negativa too unsafe
-bad tracking
There are just a few things that would be really great for her to have, like if HSD 4 or uf3+4 was safe with pushback.
All her attacks leading into NEG or HSD mixup are unsafe. Just no point. I would use f+4~b if the shit was worth something. d~3~d > NEG so slow. Popped up by all mids. Blah.
She felt compelled, that and Kazuya needed to fufill his end of the bargain. Devil would save his life in exchange for his first son.
