You know, I think the real reason why they changed his swayback combination was to make it more combo friendly somehow without it looking really weird. lol Because qcb+3,2,2 really looks like it shouldn’t work at all.
But yeah, if they do add more moves, expect everyone who doesn’t by now to have a df+3,2 string of some sort.
With bound, it’s not about “damage”, for damage can be scaled and fixed, however we have had how many patches for Tekken 6, since it debuted??? How many versions are we at now?
Bound is stupid because of the fact that it prolongs juggles, it’s because of this, that you are playing with that “I need to launch, juggle, bound, juggle and get my opponent to the wall as fast as possible mentality”.
It just limits character individualism, because regardless of who you select, your mentality roughly remains the same for your goals. You don’t see things back in the day with character diversity where like if Paul got you on the ground, he destroyed you, or Nina with runaway games, or Kazuya back in T4 doing ch Ewgf’s.
Shits just all the same, wait for a fuck up for hopkick, launcher, crush, low that can lead to a juggle+bound, so the way it goes, bound is a problem.
For me, balance was never the issue with Tekken, it’s all of these stupid options that seemingly cater to more casual players. I understand from a business point, it’s attractive when you see characters going halfway across the fucking stage to get hammered to a wall, however I just do not like how uncreative T6 has gotten in the way we play it.
Obviously no Namco member will be lurking to read my comments, however for Namco to improve on T6:BR would be with more focus on modifying the game mechanics of T6 so we get a more polished T6 from a game engine standpoint…also known as, less emphasis on juggles/bound tactics.
I’d rather they focus their efforts on fixing things within the game engine itself then trying to nerf the shit out of guys like Bob, and all, obviously improving weaker characters is a must, but a better game engine+more character individuality would make T6:BR gold, character balance is definitely not a very big problem with T6.
I know. I like the new animation a lot. But because they took away that low hit, it limits him more. If they gave him a low Phoenix Smasher looking move to that, I’d be perfectly fine with it.
Hopefully there’s more emphasis on defensive options, bound is removed(or can be teched out of), and rage is toned down. At its current state Tekken 6 is very shallow.
They should give us an option of which version we want to play. I know it won’t happen but I can dream.
damn namco, I can’t even complain of how T6 is…didn’t even let us get a chance to play. Namco really don’t like US so it seems…
Last time Tekken took a drastic change, T4 aka the black sheep was released and everyone whined. So namco went back to the system they have now. And, after a few years, people are whining again. Namco is fucked.
I’m not sure what they should do exactly, but I agree limiting juggle effects is a good idea. The problem is if only the juggle system is toned down, it turns into DR with new characters.
IMO, something should be done with other aspects of gameplay to actually make this a turning point in the series. t3 -> ttt -> t5/5.1 -> dr -> t6 is just too much on what I would consider the same engine.

well, almost every tekken has been about getting juggles. take out “bound” from that and you can say the same thing about t5 and dr.
maybe you are playing in the wrong area, but i see plenty of diversity in character playstyles, and i see alot of the same characters. pauls ground game is still strong, run away just as key, and playing small just as rewarding. most of the games i win against good players is me poking them to death and basic mixups. bait launchers, bait panic bound moves… alot of my game is still throw setups and wakeup games… the game still is a complete package, and i can attest to that. but maybe i’m missing something.
rage is far worse than bound, and the only time bound really bugs me is at walls. and i guess when i get hit by a bound move jumping… but giving away a juggle by doing anything has always been a problem playing christie.
and if you think kazuya ewgf was a sign of character diversity (a ch ewgf? …) i think you’re greatly mistaken on what that notion means.
I think the real issue is, a LOT of the people speaking up are people who have been stuck watching vids for almost a year, and still can’t play themselves. The people who are looking for every reason to hate the game and find the “combo vid” match videos, ignoring all the other gameplay in between the combos. Hell, go back a few months to the vids I have on my youtube, a LOT of groundplay is still there.
A lot of people are confused and/or mad, and it shows.

Yeah Rage is far worse than bound, and if there were no walls, bound would be nothing, all it does is make juggles longer.
Please explain further, because I don’t get this at all, and it’s taking a lot for me to not flame the fuck out of you right now. How does B! = crutches? Before Bound, some people had some straight up ASS juggles.
some of you guys seem to forget stage select is still in the game, and that there are wall-less stages that can be selected
