You can be through whenever you want to be through.
There’s shit in Tekken 2 you can’t do in 1…there’s shit in Tekken 3* you can’t do in 2 or 1…there’s shit in Tekken tag that you can’t do in 3, 2, or 1…There’s shit in Tekken 4 REALLY can’t do in any previous Tekken, because much like Virtua Fighter 3, they changed the gameplay quite a bit…while 5 was kinda “back to basics” in a sense, it still felt fresh…and 6/BR is doing the same, changing things to keep shit fresh. The pros here can put what I said into greater detail, but you get my point…your statement is kinda ridiculous.
- = we don’t talk about Tekken Advance.
You sir…are an idiot. Tekken 3 we could side step. Tekken 4 we could do broken ass infinites with Jin, Tekken 5/DR is most possibly the best Tekken ever made. You just don’t get it do ye? Oh well, someone compile the list of how every Tekken changed, I’m going to play DR.
Maybe he meant Street Fighter…
Help Me! winning a tourney without using his main…
Lee isnt his main anymore…He kinda dropped him and messed around with other characters, So its safe to say he doesnt have a main.
Not to discount the last line there, but I’m going to stand by my previous comment that their communities are different. Population density, overall skill, and(something I didn’t touch on this time) even round/damage settings can change how players will tier characters.
Remember in past games Korea has used +2 life settings, which did screw them up in previous years when playing T4 and T5 against Japan. Not enough for them to not still win, but it was pointed out by several Korean players back in the 5.0/5.1 team battle(I forget which ver they played): they specifically noted playing against D.Jins they had to watch for hell sweeps more because of the damage difference.
But yes, people, play who you want and use the tier lists as a guideline, not as gospel.
Yes, SK vs. BRONSON TRAN aka brnsntrn aka insanelee at evo '10, the GAUNTLET match. We will play T1, T2, T3, TTT, T4, 5.0, DR, and BR, $100 per game(2/3 matches), with a bonus punishment for whoever sweeps all 8 games. Needless to say it will be a long day. IIRC we’re using PS1 versions of the 1st 3 games, PS2 for Tag, 4 and 5.0, and PS3 for the rest.
Good ol Rob. lol
OH SHIT! Get hype, I got another reason to go to evo '10, Side bets anyone?
So apparently Gamestop is now taking reservations for Tekken 6:BR arcade stick bundles priced @ $150. No info on the stick other than that though.
It’s a Hori stick.
MarkMan, did you notice anything significant about BR at E3? Like any combo/move changes?
All characters were available. For both PS3 and 360 versions of T6 at E3, the analog sticks were not usable. Just dpads. Dpad actually wasnt that bad on the 360 version, I was surprised as I thought it would be a horrible experience.
Ooooo! So it DOES come with a stick, So sick. Im glad I pre-ordered like a month ago, Is there any news on it other than being a hori? Like maybe pics/Works on pc, Etcetc?
And anybody who’s played Tekken in all the home conversions knows the ps3 pad will be just fine. Nobody in their right head tries to use an analog stick for a fighter. Too loose, too much movement. If it were like the neocd/neopocket color analog stick, well, that’d be WAY different.
Lol I thought most US Tek players actually PREFERRED pad anyway? I’m learning japanese stick now, but when I go back to play BR again later this month I’m definitely using pad. And probably in all the tourneys to come. I use “fingers on buttons” style anyway and with only the 4 face buttons to use that shit is perfect imo.
Unless you’re planning to wave dash, then you would end up rubbing your thumbs down to the bone. (analog is shite too so… sticks are necessities.)
MarkMan: is it just a vanilla hori? Nothing else?
Heh, pads in Tekken are more acceptable and respectable then pads in Street fighter. I know some great players out there who uses pad : P
Do you think you have to unlock some characters in Tekken 6?
Also, maybe the 360 pad were modified? I had a shitty time with fighters in general on dpad with the 360
Truth be told…It’s actually better with pad…my fingers aren’t ridiculously sore afterwards…
Yeah, I never once had a hard time doing anything in Tekken using a pad, works perfect on a DS3.
