Where’s my 3rd Impact?

Who buffers throws off standing 4? Why would you even use that with King? lol So what GS has a bigger throw box then DDT. It also can’t be teched either did you know that? You can’t d+1 out of a GS or any other move that would usually go under a throw or a high. Again GS is an advancing throw too which is one of the reasons King moves foward after it. If I do Lee’s 1+3 it could wiff but if I do f+1+3 i couldn’t not. You’re missing the point. Point is you can not tell the difference between the throws when in throw range. No one can. Freakin Knee got tossed around by Ganzy King because he couldn’t see the throws breaks and Knee breaks 99% of throws. It’s easy to say hey what throw did he do when he wiffs it infront of you(unless it’s iSW iGS) mix up but that’s like calling a throw break after they’ve wiffed it infront of you. Everyone can do it.

Let me remind you what we were arguing about. You said “Throws are near usless at High level play” I said “No” and explained why citing one of my reasons, you can not tell the difference between King’s GS and a 1+2 break. That didn’t mean if he wiffed GS and then wiffed a 1+2 you couldn’t see the difference it means hey if I’m in throw range after a buffer or am running at you or WD in your face you can’t see the difference. You can’t, end of story.

Also #1 King on East Coast in none other than my boy Zzy. He never posts in the King forums on Zaibatsu just like Owen so you probably wouldn’t hear about him there. He lets his actions speak louder than his words. Ask anyone from around the North East and they know who he is. Some people just call him Kyle.

So much of this whole tirade has gone over your head. First, don’t come at me with that scrub, basic knowledge attitude. Just because I haven’t been heard about on the EC doesn’t mean I’ve been living under a rock since 2000. My point was the difference between the throws, which there obviously is and you just admitted here:

but wait what

So, which is it? Apparently I don’t know what I’m talking about even though I’ve given you 2 braindead ways of proving me wrong.

Also, you can high crush GS all the same, it’s not some magical mid throw. It does execute fast for the range it has, but it’s not the say all end all.

That’s a separate example that sounds more like he can’t fight or hasn’t fought Kings. In every area there’s characters that never show up that can get sneak wins because of unfamiliarity. I didn’t watch the vid so I’m not gonna get into specifics, but I’ll agree that if you’re under enough pressure some things can slip through your D. But that’s different from player to player. If you get caught up, oh well.

But, I’m not commenting off vids and hearsay, I’m going off of personal experience from my years playing in Japan, and even my short stops in Korea. I have played people that it’s pointless to throw trying for damage because they WILL break it. Throwing knowing they’ll break is fine, but that’s metagame stuff.

This is once again a personal experience/hearsay thing, and I COVERED THIS SITUATION IN MY ORIGINAL POST. You can either be on your toes looking for throws, or you can go for the personal experience thing and break what your opp usually goes for. Why you ignored that part of my post is not bothering me as much as it should considering your other gems.
You are right though, it has nothing to do with people whiffing throws in your face, but at least 2 people in this thread have agreed with me so far, a good handful of players I’ve hit up on IRC, and I’m sure that some more respected members of TZ will agree too. Or you can ask StridaJin, as he was caught by many of my throw mixups before and he will tell you the same thing since he’s a Julia player.

Okay, that works. I haven’t been a part of the US scene for a while so naturally your claims sound like someone trying to play up their rep.

I think I missed this before, but B+1+2 is pretty bad since you can mash the only 2 damaging outputs of the throw. I know this was true in DR, but I’ve never been hit with either of those versions in 6.0 since everyone wanted to do the fake whip -> b+1,2.

The problem here is I never said they were completely useless.

hey im new to tekken, dont wanna disrupt the throw talk
but are their any good tutorial videos/guides to tekken (not completely new how to attack stuff but more intermediate/advance stuff that helps me understand shit like iWS or low parries or W! stuff

been playing alisa/tekken for two/three days and ive talked to ken i and myk about how to play but i liked to see shit when im not at the arcade

i know this should be TZ stuff but i’d like advice from fellow 2d FG players

So i called Gamestop about my copy of sf4 and they said Tekken 6 comes out in October??? Im not sure how true that is.

Has anyone had any good connection when playing ppl in Japan?

Well, it is expected to be released in September or October.

Did you have a chance to play T5:DR on PS3? If not, consider it as bad as SC4 online.

I gotta say… I love the character select track. It’s hot. Also I really like the intro to the fighting stance the characters do.

I think now that there is somewhat of an estimated date, GS is taking pre-orders for T6:BR.

One of the GS’s I was at recently had signs up for T6:BR pre-orders.

Stolen from SDTEKKEN.com

According to GameStop, Oct. 27th later this Fall will be the North American release date for Tekken 6 for the PS3 and XBOX 360! Check out the below links to see each system?s respective pre-order pages:

bronson

Day before my 24 (cough best show ever cough) birthday. :woot:

Checking out the Zaibatsu forum, it’s not very organized when it comes to BR info.

So I’m wondering if anyone can post up some good Steve info here.
Trying to figure out some good combos and what are some good pokes/normals with this guy?

I’m messin’ with him right now, but he seems a little ‘stiff’ to play, but I like his approach.
I also hear that he is top tier, not sure why but I’m interested in finding out why.
Otherwise, my main source for this info would be to watch videos, haha.

there you go!

Huh?
So did nothing change from Steve 6 to BR?
I notice that some of his normal are completely different, I don’t see how most of these combos can work (espcially the wall combos).

im not a steve player, most other chars have been translated into br. i made the mistake of assuming they did the same with steves forum! TZ needs to clean up their site a little bit, requires too much digging then i like! sorry for the confusion

BR is still only available to the players who frequently visit their local arcades, therefore the information is still limited. However, there is at least one BR thread in every character forum where you can easily find the changes, new moves, new and some modified combos with(out) walls. If you want to ask something, there is also a ‘Ask a question, get an answer’ type of thread in character forum. In addition, there is a seperate thread containing nothing but confirmed changes for every single character compiled in alphabetic order.

Here are your desired threads:

6.0 to BR ALL CHARACTER CHANGES!

BR Steve

Ask a Question, get an Answer thread

It is also beneficial to see the last pages of other thread to see whether they contain any information which might be relevant to BR. As far as combos/juggles are concerned, there hasn’t been any significant change except faster wall-slumps and B!. You can now get three hits at wall as opposed to 4 hits in T6.0, that’s about it.

As a bonus, here is a funny video:

They work, He’s gotten much faster though. And the wall game has changed completely lol. You just gotta get used to how he moves, Then again I play miguel
