I like his yakuza look, personally.
Man I still can’t get over the fact that throwing is so useless, it really dumbs down the gameplay for me.
I throw about the same as I did in T5. What do you mean by being useless? I see a lot of King and AKing players still… iSW FTW!
That’s because any character with throws that have the same animation but different escapes can. Throwing is almost made redundant if you have a quick eye.
Try all King’s throws. Some of them look different than is the escape (for ex. grabbing both hands result quick eye to escape 1+2 but it’s different escape).
About the t4 outfits as custom or dlc…is there any way to get that idea to Namco jp?
It’s really amazing to see it in person. After watching Tekken 6 for so long, then seeing BR it’s really noticeable right off the bat. Though, after the first day you’ll forget about it and not think much of it.
BR is really fun.
Throwing is definitely NOT useless, you just can’t rely on it. It takes alot of training to see arms and break them on reaction, plus you can use them for switching positions(great for wall stages) and some oki setups. Plus, you need them to really force your opponent to be honest with their defense, otherwise they will just block standing all day(the majority of low attacks aren’t that strong, save HS and some other things)
Anyway, random match.

I agree.
I’ll usually get one or two giant swings to connect in a match after throwing out about 10 of them.
why does namco hate my character so much? =(
seriously. i dont know what the fuck that other dude is talking about. all top players still get thrown. no one can escape the throoooooooooooooows! people catch isw all the time, and sometimes you will be going to jab or something, and just get your shit eaten up by a throw, and you wont have time to break it. shit happened in dr a lot. random
Yeah, I was wondering how Arcadia could give SF4 the best graphics award?
Is it really that easy to escape throws now in BR? You would think, the smaller the damage, the harder the break.
It’s the fear of it coming that plays a big factor in mind games of the grappling players when it comes to Tekken. You can break pretty much everything unlike a Zangief SPD or command throws in SF, but it’s the fear of it happening that puts the pressure on you. I think it applies even more so in Tekken because the grappling characters still have a lot of offensive options outside throwing. That one giant swing that does hit makes me worry about it for the rest of the match.
Because BR itself came out a couple of months after it, last month actually. Otherwise, I see it as a lock for the forseeable future.
In terms of throwing, I do it a lot. I play acrade TTT and my comp always complain when I throw them (especially when I buffer Julia’s Mad Axes [qcb,f+1+2] into everything), since they are a little good otherwise. But Tekken is a bit easier to break throws than other fighters imo, so TIGHTEN THOSE REFLEXES OR DUCK.
…no homo
In fact, I think everyone who doesn’t have comp should just play the throw-happy CPU on Ultra Hard in TTT to practice. Back then, there weren’t any dramatic throw break animations that were introduced in 5.0 to confirm your luck, just a simple break-off. So that might help.
P.S. If you get Giant Swing’d: TECH THAT SHIT
P.P.S. I’ve loving the BGM during the Lightning Storm stage (rooftop + rain+ war chaos). Sounds like some old-school Perry Mason, Kojak type shit!
Im not talking about throws like the the giant swing and shit, just the basic throws everyone has…
…how are they useless? I don’t see much difference besides breaks/input command and of course, damage. You still get thrown the same way.
I go to arcades all over Tokyo. The arcade closest to my house has a group of people who can not be thrown. It doesn’t happen. They turtle and they are throw proof.
I’ve played against them for over a year and I know they aren’t flukes. Everyone else in Tokyo has throw break ability that is average. Some people do it well and some people don’t, but I know it is possible to break every throw every time, just like it is possible to parry a SF3 super every time. It sounds amazing at first, but if you actually make an effort to do it, it’s not difficult. Pisses me off, because everyone says “oh, if they turtle just throw.” and I’m like “Niggas, you don’t get what I’m telling you.:annoy: These motherfuckingsonsowhoresandbitches will not be motherfucking thrown, gotdamnit!”
Throws are not reliable at high level play.
note Just like SF3, a player who can break every throw/parry every super isn’t neccessarily very tough. They are just good at breaking throws. Most of them still lack other things like “chicken” ability, spacing ability and even punishment knowledge.
Breaking throws ain’t shit when it’s a scruby 50/50 “tactic”
LOL, how old are you 12?
I’m not even gonna get into why anyone who complains about throws is a scrub.
Throwing isn’t scrubby, just the way you have to break them is.
Anyone no where I can watch matches in hi-def? YouTube isn’t working.
