I’ve been meaning to post this since launch day but kept forgetting: has anyone noticed that this is a low-volume game? I have my tv on “15” volume, and you can hear me play U2, all my ps2 snk games, and the rest of my ps3 games from my house’s living room, but Tekken 6 requires me to up the volume to 25 for that same distance…and to hear Zafina’s whispered speech from 5 feet away (she speaks WAY too quietly), even with the game’s audio all the way up.
Seriously wtf ppl? I’m not even very good at Tekken and shit like this is apparent to me.
LMFAO
Ok carry on…
That roulette Trick is the shit. I’m still trying to get more S ranked items, Moku’s place is still giving me mid range crap items.
What roulette trick? Explain please… I’d love some more rage colors.
edit: nvm, I read it in the other thread. Good shit.
what thread?
the customize rage thread. I’ll quote the guy in here so people don’t have to go back and forth.
I got lucky and managed to unlock both black and white rage the normal way off the first two roulettes I ever got. That was the first week I played and I haven’t gotten any new rage colors since then even though I play ghost mode a lot. This shit should help me out a lot.
yeah, i googled it and got the video… useful shit.
I’ve found the YouTube video for the roulette trick:
The video was made on the PS3 though. I have a 360 so I’m not sure if it’ll still work but I’ll try it.
it works on 360. not that I won anything except some gold and a couple free roulettes though >_<
Mokujin stage farming tricks:
Devil Jin was the first character I started playing Scenario Campaign with, just because I knew his laser would come in handy but then I realized that it was incredibly weak and had slow start-up and recovery compared to how much damage I could do with some other characters. The only good thing about it was that it could hit multiple enemies that were lined up. With a 100% increase to attack, I guess it’s better but the start-up and recovery time still pisses me off.
I’d rather do it with Alisa and spam her B, B+1+2 missile attack. It inflicts like four times the damage Devil Jin’s lasers do and usually destroys enemies within 1-2 hits. Plus it inflicts like 30-40% damage to one of the boss’ health bars on hard difficulty and on the secret missions. On a non-secret mission or a mission on medium it takes about half of a boss’ life.
I personally use Asuka for campaign because it seems faster and easier to me. I just go around spamming D/B+4, 4, 4 up in the enemy’s faces all day and they never really block it since they don’t block low attacks usually. I like it better than running away to try to get safe just to shoot out the laser. You can rape groups of enemies with it and it does more damage faster than standing there and shooting out the lasers.
That video reminded me to hate SC mode:
Mokujin Stage
Me: Okay, Mokujins, I’m gonna kill you now, so don’t bother fighting back.
Alisa: Yeah!!!
Me: Launcher, Prepare for Bound…
Alisa: LEMME HELP, LEMME HELP, LEMME HELP!!!
Me: Whaaaa???! Get outta the way, I’m trying to bound them!!
Me: Launcher… Prepare for Bound…
Alisa: OOOO, LEMME HELP, I WANNA HIT THEM MIDAIR TOO!!!
Me: Lock on to your own enemy already!!
Me: Y’know what? Nevermind, I’ll find a different one… preferably one on the opposite side of the stage.
(30 seconds later)
Alisa: I GOT LONELY SO I CAME BACK.
Alisa can turn a 5 minute run into an 8-10 minute run. I ended up just removing her health stats so she’d die near the beginning of the level.
Some throws can automatically break the floors so you don’t have to bound. I use Asuka’s 1+3 throw to get to the bottom floor in a breeze. What pisses me off is that the three Mokujin’s you first encounter in that breakable room tech your throws like crazy (on hard difficulty at least), so you actually need them to focus on Alisa to successfully throw them or just get lucky.
So what is the general consensus on the best stages for farming S rank items? I’ve had some luck with Kigan island, Bruce and Kazuya stage. Mokujin stage is great for money but few worthwhile item drops.
S Rank items are totally random. They’re pretty rare and I think you’ll always have a chance to pick one up in any mission as long as it’s on hard or if it’s a difficult secret mission like Nightmare Train. I can play Subterranean Pavilion and Nightmare Train a bunch of times and not get an S Rank item. I’ve obtained S Rank items from various missions so it’s all just pretty much random to me.
To increase your chances of picking up S Rank items, you should probably play a mission that would most-likely give out a lot of treasure chests. “Subterranean Pavilion”, “Nightmare Train” and “G Security Service, Operations Headquarters” seems to be the best for that.
You sure about the mokujin stage? Maybe I’m just lucky but I get an S item almost every time I go through and still end up with over 2 million g (before selling items). Just make sure you have increased drop rate (i have +98%).
I use Bryan for money grinding… both his throws break the ground. If you are having trouble with the first 3 mokujins remember to pick up the drink that the big guy drops right before the door opens to the circular room (it turns your hands green and you can launch enemies with any move) and just punch the guy once and bound him. Quickly do this until you get to the 3 big guy (I don’t know their names) level. There is another green hand drink in one of the crates I believe, also if they knock you down and you see them windup that downward overhand punch, just stay on the ground because that move breaks the floor. After that the gold guys don’t seem to break many throws so just use any ground breaking throw you have.
I have a question. Does anyone know what triggers the gold mokus because every now and then I get normal mokus after the room with three big fuckers. I’m thinking it may have something to do with time.
Honestly considering how hard he can be to get this, in retrospect seems like a very solid idea and were I to have to go through it all over again (save data corrupted on me once) I might be tempted to pick him.
I feel as though the bastards on Nightmare Train are too hard to kill and make the item farming generally not worth it. They drop anything from C on up but Mokujin’s stage is heads and shoulders above anything else. Even Kigan Island is a little tougher and iirc has less opponents making it not as worthwhile. If I want S Rank I just go to Mokujin’s. Hell I’ve tried to get just garbage items and sell em from Kaz’s stage but that still ends up yielding less money overall. It’s between Kigan and Mokujin for me. Kigan’s just a thing I do from time to time to break up the monotany.
It may be time but the easiest way to get them everytime is to simply bound through every floor. This is also the only way to get the alien floor.
NOTES:-The big guys (in the red armor; maybe I’ll call them Juggernauts…) are almost impervious to all mids and highs. The only thing that will hit them, in order of consistancy is counter hits, lows, unblockables and attacks from behind. While facing them one on one, try to score a knockdown, tech catch into bound (I hope you understand what that means) and if possible hit them with an unblockable attack. UB’s are failproof from behind and quickly spell disaster for these guys even without an attack upgrade. If you have additional bound upgrades they’ll also die quickly with modified staple combos. Using jabs that they’ll inevitably block to reset their attacks and then abusing lows with knockdown is pretty effective (at least for me). This is a priceless strategy on the Mokujin stage as there are several of these guys there.
-Gunfire (that juggles, knocks you off of the stage and is annoying as fuck) can be avoided by simply disengaging (Hold L1 or L-Trigger) and walking out of the line of fire (thanks to a friend for notifying me of this). Sidestepping (since it was nerfed hahaha) is ineffective at this. You can also avoid unblockable tackles from aggresive boss characters this way.
-To shoot multiple enemies while weilding the chain gun (or flamethrower, I guess), try changing targets (Press R1 or R-Trigger or whatever XBOX’s equivalent is) while firing, normally, rotating while firing is impossible but you can get the most out of limited ammo with this; especially helpful if enemies die before your burst fire has ended and allowing enemies to “line up” as they pursue you increases this techniques effectiveness.
Thanks for the responses and advice people, now back to roulette glitching and moku farming.
I post my advice. A good item stage no one talks about is Nina’s stage. You guys should try it out on hard difficulty. With item drop rate up, I thought they were dropping too many items. Plus Nina gives you two items mostly every time you kill her. It is pretty good and a quick stage. Dont bother trying to kill her.
She has too much defense, just knock her off the stage. I got attack up and elements and still don’t do enough damage on her.
