TEKKEN 6 Bloodline Rebellion Thread - PS3/XBOX 360 Oct. 27, PSP Nov. 3

Sorry if this has been asked earlier in the thread, but I was wondering if you guys could enlighten me about why Steve seems to often be up in the S rank. From what I understand, he has really good pokes and panic/keep out moves along highly damaging juggles. My impression from reading various posts and watching vids is that his punishment is still pretty bad, though, and that he still doesn’t have a really good low, making his 10 frame throw from PAB one of his better mixup options. Along with this, he also still seems to rely a lot on CHs for getting juggles. Is it that his strengths are so amazingly good that they outweigh his weaknesses, or am I missing something?

Like Lili’s new costume, maybe a little too pornographic! She reminds me about Lady Gaga for some reason, watch her Vma’s Paparazzi performance!
Do you think we will have other console exclusive costumes?

Wow thats…wow

…wow.

Oh God

Namco…go easy this time

Well! Im selling that stick  I just want my t6 :frowning:

Woah woah, 40 hours? Thats pretty fuckin good actually. I’ll give it a chance at first

Take every tier with a grain of salt. Steve’s good, but not broken. You need to know how to use him properly, but if you do, you won’t be lacking for tools.
*
To describe the tip of the iceberg:*
His db32 is NC and safe if manage to block the 2 (according to MYK). That’s an unpunishable fast low which KND’s on normal. Except the range is utter shit, but if you know how to play your Steve right, you can work that move into your arsenal, and work the oki off it.

The rest of Steve’s moves are similar: they simply complement each other, but there’s no real abusable crap. Law, Bob, Bryan, Bruce, Nina, etc. are all similar. They just have great all-around games. That doesn’t mean they’re unbeatable at all. Kuma worked Steve in Korea’s tourney. I’ve seen Lei’s beasting Bruce’s, etc. The list goes on. Just pick your character and get good with him. BR’s pretty much the most balanced Tekken ever.

Yeah, I realize that tiers aren’t super important, I was more just curious about what put him up that high. So he’s just basically really solid all around?

Mainly because he is a beast with CH (B1 cough cough), oki, wall game, wall CARRY (it’s ugly), the old ffn2 being just ff2…and bounds, and Mishima-esque 112 hit confirm string, as well as Mad Axes-like break window for his PAB throw where he punches the shit out of you, yeah Steve is trifling, but not unbeatable

A couple weeks ago I played against MYK’s Steve a lot, albeit at 2AM in the morning but still. The fear of eating a CH B1, the throw, and not being familiar with his other new moves like the Shoryuken, his new low-mid-mid string (could be wrong), or the new elbow~launch is just too much to bear without knowing how to punish them.

Against Steve it’s like one mistake and it’s basically over, 6.0 style. But some of his stuff is mad unsafe/punishable and you also have to consider his many move changes. Punch parry is now b+1+2. Manual FLK is b+3+4. You have to press 3 or 4 again whilst in DCK stance in order to do the “JF” sparkle punch follow-ups. Unable to autoblock in the PAB stance (Lei, Miguel and such can in their stances). And against certain bigs - Kuma and especially Jack-6 - Steve has to work twice as hard in order keep from being punished up the ass.

Great, thanks a lot for the info.

steve’s db32 is low high so when you blocked the low stay ducking then launch him since he has to commit to the full string to get any sort of advantage.

steve auto blocks mids and highs in PAB stance

It’s also fast enough that, even if he whiffs the low and you block the standing 2, you still can’t punish.

Basically, you have to anticipate that he’s going to throw the db32 to defend against it properly (crouch block), but if you anticipate wrong, you could eat any of his fast mids.

yes the 2 part of the string is safe, yet it is still high. Ducking the 2 on a whiffed db3 has and can be done. you just got to train yourself to do it on reaction.

The artbook images from Harada himself are looking good. On the front page it gives you the low down on the stick itself and the battery life for it is 40 hours long. Markman made a comment in the comments section about it aswell but said if your looking for a tourney stick this isn’t it.

UK Bundle is so, so much better. That hoodie must be mine.

Chances are you won’t be able to get that, nor the artbook, nor the calander, any other way except spelunkin’ $150 hooker smacks or via eBay. I base this on 5.0’s artbook and stick.

PSP version 4TW…

FreeSP version FTW. I’d buy it I mean, I’d support the tekken scene, But UMD’s update your PSP :<

Man I gotta have that artbook checks wallet damn …
