TEKKEN 6 Bloodline Rebellion Thread - PS3/XBOX 360 Oct. 27, PSP Nov. 3

MarkMan’s not just gangsta, he’s pimpin too!

October 27th is too long to wait.

I just hope it’s worth the wait. I don’t want the netcoding to be ass like KOf12, shit is disappointing.

…you see d/b+3 on reaction…?

I can’t imagine it being worse then SCIV, and SCIV nectode was superior to KOF12. (on 360)
With Tekken’s playerbase being large, a decent netcode should provide plenty of playable matches, and Namco might surprise us and do better.

BB and STHD are the gold standard this gen, SF4/VF5 were good, everything else has been lacking.

I predict (from my arse) then Tekken 6 will end up same calibur as SF4/VF5.

If the code is on the same level as VF5 then I’ll be happy as hell.

Well to be fairl, Sometimes you can see it about to be used. But mostly I think that guys just talking out his ass lol. I mean he IS an asuka player…

Some people can see certain moves on reaction. I can spot a hellsweep point blank (and I should since I’ve been playing Kazuya since T1).

However my hands aren’t always as fast as my eyes, so it’s usually a matter of “ah ha! ah …shit.”

I can totally relate to this.

Me as well. But seriously, feng’s d/b+3 is rather slow and it has start up frames that really give it away.

And there was a huge thread about reacting to a hellsweep. It’s almost humanly impossible to react to a true hellsweep unless you are looking for it. Now, if someone does f…n…d…d/f+4, then you’ll be able to see it easily. Coming of a wave dash/ light dash is another story.

If you are playing against a real mishima player and they are WD/LD into you and have the ability to cancel into WS+2/1,2/4 (character specific), it becomes a guessing game unless you have figured out how your opponent plays. If you have, then you have an advantage and your opponent needs to learn to mix things up.

Screw hellsweeps!! I can’t see those things for shit(but I don’t get hit by them alot. shrug)

Hey Charlie, if you go to play BR for a weekend or something in South FL let me know. I’d be down to tag along.

I haven’t got a stick for PS3, so is it worth me ordering the Tekken bundle with stick from gamestop or buy a proper stick somewehere else ?

its $150 for stick, game and book

For an entry stick I think the price you get for all of those are a great deal. I believe the stick is the same as a HRAPS3 so you can easily mod the buttons out for some real Sanwa types.

I assume at Evo, games that are PS3 & X-360 are played on PS3 and are wirless sticks allowed

I aint been to Evo since 2007 and I am attending next year and your saying it is worth me going for that Tekken bundle ?

VF5’s netcode was superior to SF4’s and SC4’s.

Namco just needs to have the netcode be superior to VF5’s and you have a winner.

Most, if not all players use a wired arcade stick from what I watched of EVO this year. If you don’t own a stick I’d say it’s a great deal for what’s packaged together. Although if you’re looking for top of the line, you could probably either go with an Arcade in a Box custom or find yourself a SFIV TE stick.

At Evo you HAVE to use a wired controller(at least this year you did). probably to keep sync issues out, since syncing 300ish PS3’s and controllers could be a disaster

Highlighted for emphasis.

I see the duck, I see the feet, but the eye -> brain -> hand connection isn’t always there.

It used to be slightly easier to spot before the Mishimas were all given additional ducking low moves (Kaz db+3, Jin and Hei db+2 IIRC, etc.) So now because you’re not sure if it’s a hell sweep or a different low or a mid launcher - fuzzy guard… and then you eat a throw instead.:arazz:

So after my first week of playing a tekken gamer ever, I switched from Bryan to Bruce in DR, seeing as I almost always play a Muy Thai fighter in any game not named Street fighter- unless it’s Adon. I use Brad in VF5- who may have more in common with Steve what with their bobbing and weaving. And I heard that Bruce is sorta low in DR, but fuck it… he’s a straight bad-ass.

But if anyone still plays DR on ps3, I’d love to hook up and get a few games in, I totally suck, but I’m hoping I could get some pointers between getting my ass kicked.

It’s not that hard… Unlike the infamous hell-sweep fengs d/b+3 has a very telling animation with no way to mask it. The only move he has with anything close to similar for an animation is his qcf dash. When playing as asuka, her d+3+4 is a 14 frame instant low crush, so it beats d/b+3 AND anything he could have thrown out of that qcf.

So yes, I’m able to CONSISTENTLY crush it on reaction for a free launch. Feng players hate me. :lovin:

Asuka isn’t my main, King is. I just use her as my main online in T5: DRO because throws are frowned upon, and ISW becomes insanely difficult with any lag what-so-ever. People called me out on that statement before, and I’ve proven it. It’s NOT that difficult when your character has a nasty low crush to slap it.

Also, what makes someone playing asuka so bad? I’m actually one of the top best known on DRO for her… I don’t even touch her easily parried low/mid combos, and actually use pretty scary set ups(Launch, b+2,1,3, F+3 and watch your reaction, considering from this position d+3+4 beats any wake-up attack, unblockable catches roll in any direction, cancel into sweep gives free 3+4 if you quick-stand, 3+4 gets you if you stay grounded except vs smalls, which she’ll flip over you and give a BT punch, possibly to the back which would give a WS+3+4, 1+2 into juggle)… I also play against pretty high-level opponents, which most people know is an uphill battle for her.

My asuka thrives on 2 things…reaction crushes and pokes. I get my launches from you going low or going high. It’s mid or nothing, and you better hope 2+3 doesn’t come into play if it was a punch… That move makes her steve’s owner.

I don’t even touch her standard reversal except maybe once every 20+ matches, and that’s just for the awesome oki she gets off it. You move, it’s a free float juggle.

Seriously, people coin asuka as an easy character, but against someone who’s GOOD you have to seriously be good with her to even consider taking the fight. Only things she’ll have going for her is her crush ability with d/b+1, d/b+2, d+3+4, b+3(although I don’t touch that move, it’s -19 in DR), d/b+4(never throw more than 1), b+1(you better be SURE before throwing this, easy parry), along with her oki(she shines above a lot of opponents here, seriously), and her overall safeness. Her juggle damage is laughable at best, her wall-game is NICE though(never, EVER, EVERRRRR techroll on wall), and she’s good at frame traps, but beyond that…

Of course, what do I know, I’m an Asuka player…right?

Bingo. That’s the difference between HS and fengs d/b+3. HS can be masked, while d/b+3 cannot. Both are i16, but one only has ONE possibility it can be while watching him come for you, while the other can end up mid, high, low, OR throw…

I mean, if people can see the arm and break throws on reaction all day long, what’s so hard to believe someone can crush d/b+3 which is 4+ frames slower?
