I came home, expecting just another boring day. It turns out Tekken 5 came in…
I enjoyed that moment so much I wanted to have sex with it.
Anyway, The stick that it came with is a a Hori Real Arcade Pro. Anyone who has the original will tell you that paying $100 for a game, the stick, and a collector’s box is one hell of a steal (considering the stick itself should cost $150). It’s legit folks: Namco loves their customers.
As for the game, it plays just like the arcade, but with small noticeable loading times. Nothing to be too concerned about though. Oh yeah, a cool thing about the game is that when it starts up, there is this 3D FPS flying game. I am not so sure what the game is, but I got into it and forgot that I was supposed to be playing Tekken 5.
God bless Namco.
Sorry for the short review. I’m still playing it as we speak.
I ordered from Gamestop (online, obviously). I have the original HRAP, and when comparing them, they are essentially the same (sanwa joystick, buttons, etc). The only difference is that there is no turbo features on it. It shouldn’t really matter, since its Tekken, you know?
There are 8 buttons. Just like all the pictures you have seen. There is another difference though: The stick did not have a cover for the metal shaft. This might be different to people who are used to having the cover slip because it makes the shaft thicker, so the feel might be different.
Lucky bastard. I’m gonna hit EB up tommorow to see if they got it in early. Good to hear the stick(main reason I pre-ordered the bundle) is quality since alot of people were doubtful.
Yes, excluding there are 8 buttons on the stick. There is a nice big pic of it in the Hardware forums.
There are 11 question mark boxes. The extra characters aren’t unlocked, so I guess it would be them. Actually, I am not sure how many extra characters are in the arcade, but I think its the same. If someone knows, post otherwise.
Not sure. I bought it online, so I guess what happened is when Namco sent it, I got mine as an individual while stores have to get theirs in bulk???..dunno.
Tekken 1 characters arent unlocked, but Tekken 2 and Tekken 3 are.
Also, Tekken 3 is essentially the Playstation 1 port. Kinda sucks if you ask me cuz the sound effects are shitty. I am pretty sure that T1 and T2 are the arcade ROMS, but cant be too sure.
