Tekken 5 Tiers?

Asuka’s alright. I probably think a little more highly of her than most. There aren’t that many good Asuka players and she’s hella popular among scrubs. She’s got nice damage both with and without walls, plus some decent lows and good high/low crush. She’s not great, but she’s not that bad either.

That about explains it and yes im an Asuka player. Most of her lows if blocked leave her at a fairly bad frame disadvantage. Of course her continous strings are crap. Has a surprisingly decent throw game. Nothing really abusable though. Im sorry 1+2 is not abusable, not even close. She does have a nice punch reversal with standing 2+3 for Steve and Nina players. Has shit that leads to cheap damage, ie u/f+4, leads to a free f 1+2. I would say she is as mid tier as mid tier gets.

I always here Asuka is popular, but I never see anyone besides me actually play her seriously. Most people just pick her and try to do her strings.

Well…I’ve started to use her. I had wanted to use her since T5 came out, but didn’t want to waste the money necessary to get her good. LOL.

Plus, who could resist the new outfit?! I’m quite fond of the school-girl one too. Both kick the default costumes.

Im not to fond of her 4 alternate outfit. Kinda weird looking, although aparantely Asuka has some tats in the inner though.

didn’t read the whole thread, but is there a spot on the tier list for roger jr. yet? apparently someone using roger jr. took second place in a recent s. korea tournament…i’m a king user right now, but the kangaroo would definitely be an intriguing second option for me…

edit - how do you unlock roger jr. again?

I seriously need a better air combo for King, fucking been trying to get used to playing on a pad as well so I can block better then on the sticks. Man I cant play Asuka on a controller, its either play sticks and have trouble blocking or use the controller and fuck up basic shit.

To unlock characters, just beat story mode with everyone. It will unlock everyone except Devil Jin. To unlock Devil Jin, I recommend playing the neccessary arcade games, as it is much better than the alternative of the Devil Within mode.

i’ve been getting into tekken…i’m a king player. i was looking for a tekken thread on srk(i post at tekken zaibatsu also but still), and now that i’ve found one, i don’t even have any questions, lol. ah well.

asuka sucks

lee is good. i mean call him whatever you want but one combo =death and its pretty damn easy. and hes got quick launchers to get it off.

i still dont wanna make a list because i have not even seen half of the cast at high level. i am only positive that steve is a great , safe character . even nina i feel could eventually slide down once people find ways around her more. the problem with using steve though is EVERYONE has anti steve strats, so if youre a scrub thinking you can just pick up steve and start owning everyone will be ready for your bullshit so you have to battle just as hard as people using lower tiered characters. overtime though when the holes in those lower tiers become more and more exposed i think steve will be on top .
