Tekken 5 Tiers?

Sorry, I had to correct it.

i think youre being sarcastic but its difficult to tell on a forum. anyway if youre not, hes being forced into the army. im not even korean and i know that they have to serve 2? or 4 years mandatory. i remember when the baseball pitcher chan ho park was going to be forced into the army unless he won a gold medal game vs japan, which he did.

zig

jop was a big loss for atl but honestly i think it was a bigger shot to their scene to lose arario. this guy is the best tekken player ive seen just on natural ability alone. hes young too, so cali is lucky that he moved here. the loss of jop and arario was a big blow to their scene but if tran gets off his ass and starts playing again along with the truth, rtd, bane, clint, mon and the rest these guys have the skills to hold their own.

ive settled on a top 3 (on normal damage setting) for the future

steve
bruce
nina

that is all :encore:

I thought this thread was about early tekken 5 tier list, how is all this korean is better then US talk come about. The truth is tiers does matter in tekken 5 like if you got a good kuma player and a good steve player the steve should win everytime not cause he’s a better player but cause his character gives him more of an advantage in a fight. thats what tiers say,who it is easier to win with in the game. T4 showed us a lot of that. Moderate jin users actually competiting with good tekken players everywhere by just learning jfls in five minutes. In tekken5 the tier arent that bad but they are evident.

About the korean thing there is no way that the gap in gameplay is so vast that average korean scrubs would beat the best that the US has to offer. Maybe that was the case at the first TTT tournaments when the koreans came but since then american tekken has come leaps and bounds. People like JOP,Conk, and tom have showed that they have the skill to rival some of the best that the koreans could produce in the past few year at tekken tournaments. With tekken 5 I feel that the americans may actually have an edge to compete even more with foreignor for the simple fact that US players have the console version when there counterparts dont. Giving them a chance to test and play around with things that you cant really do in a packed arcade. In past tekkens in the us finding competition to get better was limited. But with tekken 5 there has been a growth in the amount of competition avaliable to US players. Look at the rise of new faces in the tournament scene like skip from fucking florida upseting many in atl. Or Arario taking cali. Or Solus winning with marduk. From what I heard of Jizz_Frame he is a pretty good player and understands the tekken community more then the people busy calling his comments stupid. As far as actually seeing the best of the us facing the best from korean its probably not going to happen til Evo. Most of the best players from the US that qualified for regionals arent even going to nationals to qualify for SBO. Damn near all of the cali players, most of stl louis, even some EC players like JM might not even make it. Even now hopefuls to win nationals are saying that theyre not going to SBO. So to see how to US will stack up everyone is just going to have to wait.

I have to say that Julia is a sexy beast. RAWR…

people dont know how to read. and since this forum strictly consists of words I give up.

about the army, you HAVE to go once you reach 21 in Korea. alot of famous actors in Korea that are well over 21 just got sent to the army. they paid doctors to write some sort of illness or bad conditions in their records that enable them to go to the army. but they got caught. so it doesnt matter who you are. if you are a male, you go to the army no matter who you are. minimum 2 years. this has happened to other famous Tekken players in Korea. it may be dumb to yall, but thats just how shit works in my homeland. better than being fat and watching reality TV.

Bruce is CHEAP!!! Poke mixups are just utter nonsense.

Soo-You keep denying you hate on the US players yet your first words proclaimed their inferiority to Korean scrubs. If you don’t want people mis-interpreting what you’re saying, maybe you should put a little more thought into what you post.

soo is a tekken player, always has been, so you cant just say hes “not a tekken player.”

and, while he doesnt get to play with us in socal that much, he does play the game and know what is going on. he is up to date, and not some video scrub.

now, soo, get to the 3v3 at ucla next month.

what up Jom. yea Ill be at the next tournament. I need to start playin with yall to actually get better. good lookin out :karate:

yah soo is an old school tag player, so some of you can stfu kthanks

sup Nick! post when you go to FF in the MvC2 thread nigga. I need practice against your Bryan/Bruce.

lolololololol

yes, i get into it.

Asuka all the way!!!

Hell yeah, I just unlocked Devil Jin. This character is a monster! Looking at every move he does, he just BEATS THE CRAP out of you.

The new f,f+3, 1 chain is awesome in juggle combos. The EWGF animation is BEASTLY. EWGF, DEWGF, 1+4, 2, DEWGF or f, f+2 is one of the most painful looking combos I’ve ever seen in any game.

The Laser Scraper chain is guaranteed on the counter hit, so set up those counter hit b, f+2’s! Poke with d+3, df+4, the crouching jabs, f+1, df+1, combo after hellsweep, hit confirmable Flash Punches… all the good stuff Jin had from TTT is back!

Screw the lasers and that random guess garbage the new df+2 move as well. Although just the df+2 by itself does get you in and force a crouch on the other guy… I’m not a fan of guessing with the mid or low attack followup right after though. You have to press the unsafe follow up RIGHT AWAY if you want to beat mashers. Regardless, Devil Jin is top tier to me now. :badboy:

Can you not hold forward anymore?

DJ sucks. All of Jins good shit in TTT are gone.

He’s not bad. But not top tier. He’s almost as toned down from TTT as Jin was from T4.

Want a top tier Mishima? Heihachi all the way

Pretty much my thinking. If b+4 hit grounded, hellsweep was T3/Tag speed, and EWGF actually tech crouch’d like before, I’d say Devil Jin was in the just below top 3 range with feng/paul/raven

About Hei being top tier: 2,2~1 isn’t as good as originally advertised. Hei’s 2 is WAYYY shorter range than his 1 so even though something’s -10 on block, you’re not going to always be able to punish it. However playing Hei makes playing any of the big characters or regular Jin obsolete.

No it’s not.

Oh, I just realized Jin lost his df+2 uppercut that launches on the counter hit. I liked that move. Now he has this stupid elbow thing instead. Instead of the dashing left splits kick that floated the other guy, he has the new f, f+3 chain instead.

What’s the point of having b, f+2 stun on the counter hit when it’s totally escapeble then? That’s some stupid move like Kazuya’s ws+2 then. A scrub’s favorite, but totally pointless at high level play. Does Jin have a move I can use like Kazuya’s Abolishing Fist (df+2)?

At least the f+2 overhead punch still guard breaks the other guy and df+2, 2 is a safe poke as well.

I take back what I said about DJ being just like Tag Jin. Got caught up in the moment with my fanboyism instead.

bf+2 CH, EWGF is tough but guaranteed…not bad for a free launcher, right?

I shouldn’t have said top tier. Shoulda said “better” Mishima.

The 2,2~1+2 is an added bonus to an already good Hei (just IMO). I LOVE his FC d/f+4, adds to a WS game. d/b+2 is alomst like Steve’s d+1. Hellsweep (1 hit) into 4,4 is I THINK gauranteed on hit and safe (I THINK). Plus his wavedash mixups (not as good as in TTT but I still love it), b,f+2,2 grounds the opponent in a juggle (i like EWGF,EWGF,d/f+1,1,b,f+2,2)

I still abuse 2,2~1+2 f,f+2 every chance I get.
