Tekken 5 game/stick bundle $30 at my gamestop

what do you guys use to get those damn button hole tabs off from the top plate? do you dremel it with the grinder bit or another type of bit or something else? what is the easiest way to get rid of those tabs?

If you use a little elbow grease, a rounded semi-circle file will do the job. It’ll only set you back $5 at most and to do all 8 holes is about… half an hour?

Not toooooooooooo bad for a broke gamer.

I’d like to hear a Dremel solution though… Less than $5, and probably easier. I’d guess the grounder bit would do it.

dremel is kinda overkill, fiile would work fine

can anyone help a noob out?

I Recently modded my T5 stick, replaced all buttons with sanwa and the stick. I used the stock T5 PCB and everything looks to be wired correctly. I left out L1 and L2 and covered them with button plugs so i could use 6 button layout. Now R1 and R2 aren’t working. I know they worked aftter i upgraded them to sanwa but now that L1 L2 are gone they don’t work. I even put the hori L1 / L2 back in and neither they nor R1 R2 work. does this make sense to anyone? could i have short circuited it and messed up a chip in it or something? sorry for the long rant i’m not very good at explaining electronic stuff, PM me if you have any idea, any help is appreciated.

unlikely, PCBs rarely get “partially” broke. In any case, it probably doesnt’h ave anything to do with the fact that you took out R1 and R2. Double check your wiring, that’s probably what’s wrong.

Could aliens be involved?

Hmm if your unfamilar with soldering as well as you’ll like to like me, i think i sort of had the same problem, not with the tekken stick though. My friend said something like i soldered my R2 R1 and ground in such a way that they were connected so it was registered as ground and i couldn’t get R2 and R1. So i’m guessing you should look at how you soldered (that volcanoe shape according to my friend to me).

Yeah I got one after I first heard they dropepd to $30. I had actually bought 2 when they first came out but I sold them because I hated the game so much. I guess I’ll jsut keep this one sealed in the box as a collectible item…

Finally done!

As with all my sticks, this’ll get a week of serious play and wind up on the trading outlet. Sigh. Hope everyone else has made some cool projects out of this case. Protip: line the case with something otherwise it makes this cool steel drum noise that people might not find as pleasant as I do.

niceeee! love it. good stuff poon.

i still haven’t decided what to do with mine yet. I was thinking of taking apart a doa4 stick and put it in the t5 casing. that was i can have working dashboard button. anyone know if this will work…

otherwise i’ll just switch everything out just for looks or something.

That’ll work, just be comfortable desoldering both, rewiring the 360 board, and having to put in another button for the dash button. That’s not crazy hard, but may be tricky for beginners (don’t know ya, not implying anything  ).

Working dashboard button? I’m not catching the point of that…

If you’re going to take apart the T5 stick anyway, you might as well put some real arcade parts in it. Happs fit and they’re fairly affordable.

haha don’t worry i’m actual new to this. i took out the stick from the t5 and put it in my sf stick instead. i like the balltop and shorty throw distance. probally has something to do with the stick in my car being short. not a hard mod like yours but i guess its somewhere to start. i mgiht just leave the empty t5 alone for now until more games come out for the 360 or mod it for xbox.

until then i’ll definitly be reading everyones post so i can learn how to do this stuff.

Gotta love that COTA artwork. Capcom got it right too, putting CYCLOPS as the central figure in the image.

The square gate in this thing sucks…I’m about to swap it out for a sanwa/seimitsu octagonal or circular but I have some quick noobish Q’s.

Do I need to solder anything or anything difficult or is it more of a straightforward swap with common tools…sorry I’ma noob to this.

Also which stick is better for a game like 3S, between octagonal and circular gates…I hear sanwa/seimitsu are very similar. Is there a recommended model # of the sticks to get? THANKS!!!

not completely finished. if you look to the top (start select buttons) you can see the artwork kinda “bend” or curve. I haven’t been able to press it down with some glue yet, but once i do, everything should be done.

^^^^Awesome stick!

May I ask if this deal offered in Canada? This seems to be the only chance for me to get a nice stick.

may be, but you are probably waay too late :stuck_out_tongue:
