I’ve said this before to some of the players here in Oki, the only reason Steve seems hard to use now is that people are now forced to use all of these moves he’s had since TEKKEN 4 because all his simple cookiecutter shit is gone(think about it, did ANY top Steve player do anything but sway, albatross and flicker?). Just be glad that ducking 1 doesn’t sideturn you on block like it did back in T4.
That’s the same direct PS2 rip that’s been there and on Shadowhaxor’s site since forever. I’m talking an actual buyable CD. Namco hasn’t made one yet.
Is Wang any good in DR? It seems that his easy ass juggle still works, but for some reason people say he’s weakened. Also, is Anna any good? Her launchers seems like ass (mainly because I’m not used to her), but supposedly she got beefed up since 5.0. I DO NOT want to hop on into the annoying as hell Lili bandwagon, and since I can’t do EWGFs consistently (boy do I suck with Mishimas), they’re out of the question too. I guess I’m stuck with Wang, Anna, Law, and Armor King (yes, where I live, you have to play at least 2-3 characters so you don’t become one-dimensional).
BTW, this game is awesome compared to 5.0. Marvel is STILL the biggest game where I live, though. That game will NEVER die! At least not here…
You can get good with ewgfs, it just takes practice. I’d say to just play law, he’s not that hard to use and his damage output is good.
Jump on the Dragunov bandwagon instead.

It’s funny, about the lili bandwagon. Between WI and IL, there are 2 lili players. And one of them is going back to nina now. Lol. Wang is good in DR. Seems pretty much the same to me, other than d/f+3+4 (his old d/f+1+3+4) not giving advantage on block and being SPECIAL MID is kind of weird… but wang… b+2,1, 1,4 is a natural combo. I couldn’t believe it when I saw it the first time… it’s crazy. That is like 1/5 damage from a safe poke/punisher. From what I understand his f+2 is good for punishing stuff. Other then that, he is pretty much the same wang. 
Crow is still winning major tourneys with Steve. Steve is a monster if you understand how the system works. If you spam shit, you will lose. He’s like kaz, you have to be very familar with tekken overall to win with him.
Now that I’ve played this game a bit, I feel DJ is STILL the best. Well, in TX, we had different tier rankings in 5.0 anyway. We never thought steve was the best, DJ was. In the right hands, nothing stopped this char. Bryan wasn’t even top 3 and now, thank god, the bandwagon has died because you can’t spam with him anymore.
Marduk is strong, so far nobody REALLY sucks except IMO lee/julia. I have yet to see them do really good. And yes, I know the realyst won with julia in a major. But I’ll have to see those results with really good players to be convinced
Wow, seriously, you thought DJ was the best in 5.0? I mean, I’ve always felt that he was strong, but for me I never felt he was better than Steve, just wondering why you guys felt he was better than Steve in 5.0, no, not arguing your case, I respect other people’s opinion’s, but I’m just curious to know, that’s all. As for Crow, well, let’s face it, it’s Crow, I mean, Nin is doing good with Steve in S.Korea too if I’m not mistaken, those two guys know the Tekken5 system way too much. In DR, DJ is still the best, my only beef is, not many people here in the states play Mishima’s overall except for probably JinKid, at least, that’s all who I can really think of for the moment here in the states who’s actually good with a Mishima.

Carmona… Honkey… probably others in the MW at least. Ya lee is strong… very strong. Just I guess no one plays him in TX. Trust me he is not bottom though.
lee is strong definitely not bottom, he just doesn’t look overpowered or have anything abusable. launch on any wall stage from anywhere=you’re being taken to the wall.
Lee’s SS and evasion game is strong.
I would only consider a few characters bottom tier.
Bear, Lei, Xiaoyu, and Julia.
Sorry if you use these characters, they are just not that great.

The whole old bottom tier is not rock bottom like they used to be. Even Kuma has some good tools now. Now if only Bears and Jack could get some launchers that can’t be punished by other launchers(or give them back that weight advantage where they couldn’t be launched on normal hit by df+2s and other small quick launchers). Lili’s df+2 is disturbingly safe for the amount of damage you can do off of it, what’s the best J5 can do? f+2x3, f+1+2? Bullshit. Give Jack more + frames plz

Texas Showdown had 5.0, another arcade had DR. Had about 40 heads and Crow won with Steve. I wouldn’t call it a major but prob was the biggest DR tourney to date.
