ive never played a good asuka player, just a random one. he was decent for scrubs, but thats it. she is annoying, i can tell you that. if that japanes guy can play lei like he is a top tier character, and punish people. im sure you can take a character like asuka to another level, that most people would not consider her on. she would be a good choice, seein as though nobody plays her seriously. you could catch alot of “big heads” off guard, and make them lose face.
nina got a new launcher, which rapes whiffers. she got toned down, but is still very formidable, and still considered top tier in dr.
steve got nerfed! at least give the man the d/f+2. he has no, good launcher anymore. he is still very formidable, but you have to put in much more work then before.
brian is still good. yeah his b+1 is only juggle on ch, but the rest is still good to go. fck what you heard. all the, “brian needs walls, but now he needs walls and doesnt get the free 1,2,1 d/f+3 for rape damage, anymore”. b.s

kazuya is very good, but your game has to be tight. his main launcher is the ewgf, wgf will not do. it can be punished. take leedy for example. he can ewgf like throwin jabs, he can light dash and cancel into a numerous amount of moves. his game is tight. if you cant do what leedy does. kazuya is fucking whack and you will get raped
There are several notable players that play Asuka as their main.
The only thing that hurst her IMO is that she doesn’t have great reward in terms of punishing frame wise. Standing 4 and 1 are her i10 punishers, and while having menial mixups is great nothing is gauranteed.
She’s still juice though.
Well as I always say and this goes with any fighting game Tiers don’t matter if you’re really good with a cirtian characer.
In tekken however there are the useless characters like Jack, Roger, Mokojin/Combot and so on.
Not that I’m not saying anything you already know.
Though Tekken definatly has balance issues.
roger was pretty good in T5. better than half the cast.
Most people in the main Tekken forums would agree that Mishimas are their own tier (call it top tier or god tier if you want). Everything after them is upper mid/mid/lower mid/low/bottom. Funny thing is, even though Hei/Kaz/DJ are considered to be the best characters in the game (it’s pretty balanced, but you’ll still have your “top tier”), nobody uses them where I live. They are not easy to use, and if you don’t use them the way they should, you will get owned. Steve, Lili, and Dragunov are very poplar here for some reason, though. As well as Bryan and the occasional Marduk.
Jack is pretty good in 5, 5.1, and DR. Definitely not a useless character.
SK - what are some good combos with Lee that you use? I know the 1,2 mist step juggle brings them to the wall quickly… what else do you use? I do a lot of poking and use his slide sometimes, juggle with the 1,2 mist step to the wall and then do whatever. Without walls though, the 1,2 mist step cancel juggles are a little underpowered. I’ve been experimenting with the b+1 punches, but can’t figure out anything really damaging.
I got beat senseless by a king player but all he did was that triple kick Scrubbage.
So far my best times are with Anna and Armor King.
I just plain don’t like Jack I never use the Big Hulking characters in fighters anyway.
I seem to have trouble juggling, Is this really THAT essental a skill to being an expert?
What character are you trying to juggle with because juggles vary from very difficult to child’s play. You should start with easy juggle characters like Bruce or… I can’t think of anyone with easier staple juggles. Even if you don’t plan on using him, learning how to juggle with Bruce will teach you the general timing of juggles; the harder ones will become less frustating.
EDIT: Yes, they are essential. Unless you’re at a skill level where you can land about 7-8 pokes for every juggle starter the opponent can get you with in a round.
I sometimes use uf,4, 4,3,4, ff+3. I haven’t tried it in DR tho.
That still works.
I use uf+4, 44, b+1,1~f, 1,2~f, 3,4 for no walls off that knee
or
uf+4, 1,2~f 1, b+1,1~f 1,2~f, 3,4 if I’m not close enough to a wall, or replace that last 3,4 with another 1,2~f if I can get them to the wall then random wall juice(mist Shredder Low(mist step 3,4,d+4), 434(males, and even now it whiffs at random:confused:), or 433 + wakes for everyone, which puts them right where they don’t want to be, because Lee’s dirty at that range)
df+2, 2,1, 1,2~f, 2,1,1 then wakes
CH b+4 into either of the uf+4 juggles
I’m not too fancy anymore, the guys I play don’t fall for Blazing Kick too often anymore.
there is nothing scrubbish inside the game itself. if it’s in the game use it. if it’s works on you find a way to defeat it.
every char in tekken has at least 1 juggle that is stupid easy and does decent damage, if not the best the char can.
wtf? How the hell is jack or roger a useless character? Though it seems people have already addressed that.
the nina issue- could you be a little more specific on why nina should be top tier?
getting beat by “triple kick scrubagge”. Would you by any chance be talking about king’s low kicks? Have you tried… um… i dunno, low blocking?
juggles- ofcourse. very, VERY important. To add to rioting’s character listed… try some basic juggles with jack, feng or wang. They have the easiest bnb juggles i can think of at the top of my head.
asuka- best asuka player i have seen to date is Hatman from st. louis. Amazing player.
lee- has pretty hair

Some vids I see launcher (whichever she lands) and then 1, b+2, 1, d+2, 2, 3, and in other vids I’m seeing df+1, df+1, 1, 2, f+2, 1+2?
Does it really matter what I decide to go with?
