Tekkaman Blade Official Tutorial

Messed around with different assists in the previous combo and changed the ending to that more damaging version.

So I don’t have to write it over and over * = 5A, 5B, 2B, 5C, Launch, sj.AABB, dj.2C, C~Katzbalger, 5B, Launch, sj.2C, B~Shamshir, Crash Intrude, j.2C.

with Jun
5A/j.C(2), 5B, 2B, P, 5C, C~Falchion, * does 65/66 hits for 35.014/37.064 billion

with Morrigan
5A/j.C(2), 5B, 2B, P, 5C, C~Falchion, * does 65/66 hits for 35.694/37.435 billion

with Ken
5A/j.C(2), 5B, 2B, P, 5C, A~Falchion, * does 63/64 hits for 34.736/36.738 billion
Has to be A~Falchion because the other versions aren’t fast enough to hit due to Ken’s assist not having a lot of hitstun. Trouble with this is A~Falchion might not take you through your opponent and hence not hit them if you don’t start the combo close enough.

with Ryu
5A/j.C(2), 5B, 2B, 5C, P, C~Falchion, * does 65/66 hits for 36.581/38.085 billion

with Yatterman-1
5A/j.C(2), 5B, 2B, 5C, P, C~Falchion, * does 65/66 hits for 36.825/38.249 billion
Trouble with Yatterman-1 was if you got to close to the corner his assist didn’t hit them.

The damage didn’t come up exactley the same every time, but it’s close enough.

If the combos take them into the corner/ they’re already in the corner, the Falchion hits a few more times for a tiny bit of extra damage.
Also when they’re in the corner and you’re stood right next to them before Falchion starts up, sometimes it’s really hard/ impossible to link a 5A after the Falchion. This also happens when they’re in the corner and you’re stood right next to them and do a Falchion. Any one else experiencing this? It’s really annoying.

After Crash Intrude, how does the game decide which side of them you land when they’re on the ground? Because j.2C seems to be much easier to link if their feet are facing you rather than their head.

And just because I wanted 2 Falchions in a combo.
With Morrigan,
Stand at the opposite side of the screen to the opponent as far as possible.

Jump, air dash, P(just before you actually dash), j.C(2), 5C, C~Falchion, 5A, 5B, 2B, 5C, Baroque, 5A, 5B, 2B, P, 5C, C~Falchion, * does 76 hits for 41.803 billion with 10% red health.

I’ve tested Crash Intrude from all sorts of positions. On the ground, after short dash, after wall bounce, after air combo, after shamshir, etc. I also tried holding directions during the super, as Blade falls, etc. I found no way to consistently land on either side, it seems totally random.

But if you want to get the j.2C more consistently, you can just hold up/back when you land and it’ll help you hit them if they land behind you, without making you miss if they land in front.

Well Tekkaman Blade cant wavedash like morrigan/gold lightan. I think thats going to be a big disadvantage to him :/…

He has other ways of getting in, but yeah, lack of super/wave/whatever dash hurts him a bit.

Thanks a lot for such a great answer. I can land it pretty consistently now. I think my problem was i wasn’t getting the jump cancel into the c2 fast enough.

Also, who do you guys think would be a good assist for t blade? It seems like polimer is looking pretty strong as of right now, but anyone else? I’m trying to build a team and I’m really new to this game, so any help would be appreaciated.Right now I’m teaming him with karas on the basis of them being the only characters I can play. Haven’t really found anything yet, though.

Hey, Xaolin, just wanted to ask if maybe we should replace Combo 10 with 13? They are pretty much the same combo (except one is improved). It would be easy to fix up the numbers regarding the videos so you don’t have to worry.

  • Combo 14: It’s an assist combo. Should relocate it to the assist combo section instead?
  • Combo 8: I think we should list that the hits & damage involve Combo #6. And that it’s the Omnidirectional Super Voltekka Version.

PS. I would not mind helping you fix up the OP itself. Of course, this involves account sharing but that’s up to you. With the limited amount of time you have I can see why it would be a lot for you to do in one day haha.

I’m just popping in to post a combo I recorded (on a terrible camera because my capture card isn’t working ughhh). Haven’t read through the threads to see if this loop is already known.

EDIT:

Characters I’ve tested it on other than Tekkaman: couldn’t get the j.236A > (delay) falling j.B to combo on Megaman at all. Not sure if the second repetition works on Zero and Yatter-2, the first one does work. The full combo works on Jun and Karas. Haven’t tested anyone else.

As for how practical it is as a pseudo-infinite, I haven’t been able to connect with the launcher after a third loop, and if I could, j.A > j.B wouldn’t combo at that point anyway, so I’m not sure if dj.2C > C Katzbalger would still work; if it doesn’t, the extra loop wouldn’t really add any damage in the end.

Isu, can you repeat that loop for an infinite with blade?

I can’t say with total assurance, but hit-stun scaling should essentially make any true infinite an impossibility.

I’m not sure if I’m doing smart things yet, so I figured I could at least be learning practical combos. Thus far, this is what I’ve been falling back on with T.-man Blade:

J. H - standing L, M, H - d/f H - j. L, M, M - d.j. L, M - H Baselard

If I have meter, I tend to use Crash Intrude in place of the Baselard. Basically, I just want to know what some of his good BnB combos are. I think I’m definitely getting a feel for how the combo system works in this game, but of course being a competitive player I’d prefer to learn the useful knowledge first and foremost.

  • Also I wanted to mention a couple of things that I have discovered through my practice that I didn’t notice in Keits’s tutorial. Of course, this not to say that he wasn’t aware of them, as I’m absolutely certain he is. I just thought it was worth mentioning so that his next one could be as thorough as possible.
  1. Defensive/Offensive Rolling: Hold the stick either left or right while waking up.

  2. Counter Cross-Over Combination (???): I wasn’t actually sure about this one. I was playing through Arcade Mode, and while I was attacking my opponent he did a Cross-Over Counter. However, instead of just switching, he and his partner both jumped in and did supers. The announcer even called it something different. I experimented with the mechanic in Training Mode afterwards, but I couldn’t engineer the situation.

I mentioned something similar in the previous page, but it was with Tekkaman assist.

The combo you posted isn’t maximizing the use of Blade’s range. Blade’s reach goes pretty far and you can chain more than what you’ve posted. I suggest you either take a look at the tutorial in-depth or watch my tutorial video to get a feel for how Blade moves.

I believe that Counter Cross-over is when your blocking an attack, and on block, you hit forward + P and you’ll auto counter an attack while switching characters.

The best I can say is to keep on practicing and try to experiment with as many things as possible to see what works out. This game is far different from SF4 and more fun in my opinion because you can really get creative. Plus the songs and backgrounds are amazing lol
