Tekkaman Blade Official Tutorial

@ShinsoBEAM!, Lord HDL, and xS A M U R A Ix

I’ll post your contributions up later since I’ve got schoolwork, but I think I’m gonna have to make a “Strategy” section to deal with the coming influx of strategy-type contributions people are making. Thanks again for making the effort to discovering new and unique things with Blade.

I found a better version of the Tekkaman bnb I’ve been doing. I’ll repeat from the start:

j.C or some starter into 5B 2B 5C 2C 4C, call Tekkaman, A ~ Baselard, launch when opponent is on your opposite side, sj.A sj.A sj.B sj.B, dj.2C, C ~ Katzbalger, 5B, launch.

Now instead of the usual air combo to A ~ Baselard and super, you can do something else for more damage. After the super jump, use 2C and combo to B ~ Shamshir, then level 1. You should cancel the shamshir on hit 37 for the best results (assuming you started with j.C and got both hits). This combo does almost 38b, whereas the original one does around 35b. This one is also easier to execute.

As for level 3, you still need the baselard, but personally I find comboing into level 3 a bad idea unless it will guarantee a character’s elimination. Ending this same combo with level 3 instead nets you around 43b, which really isn’t that big of a difference considering how much meter you’re using. It seems better to reserve the meter for mega crashes.

EDIT: So I found an even more damaging bnb with this team. After the 5C, just to launch, air combo to B ~ Shamshir, call Tekkaman, sj. A sj.A sj.B, dj.2C, C ~ Katzbalger, 5B, launch, sj.2C, B ~ Shamshir, level 1, j.2C. This one does 40b damage if you start with both hits of j.C.

Assist combo with Morrigan

5A, 5B, 2B, P, 5C, C ~ Falchion, 5A, 5B, 2B, 5C, launch, sj.AABB dj.2C, C ~ Katzbalger, 5B, launch, sj.B, A ~ Baselard, Crash Intrude

Does 32billion with super, 26billion without super (but replace A ~ Baselard with B or C version) and 34b/28b if you did a j.C(2) before. Didn’t try lvl. 3 super yet.
Obviously some room for BBQ, but I’m not sure where to put it. Tried to fit another Falchion in using it but Morrigan didn’t recover fast enough.

Probably works with other assists as well, like Ryu.

dunno how useful this would really be, but you can TK his j.236B which essentially is like giving the grounded C version A-like speed, but keeping the extra damage

Really useful, actually. It covers the space that people tend to use for IAD pressure, or you can do it low enough to hit crouching opponents, so it’ll give them a reason to block from far instead of build meter or whatever they were doing. Once you establish that you can control that space, they will be more hesitant to act and that’ll help pave the way for short dash -> air dash approaches.

j.b 5A 5B 2B 5C Baselard Baroque 5A 5B 2B 5C launch j.a j.a j.b j.b 2C Katzbalger 5A 5B 3C j.a j.a 2C B Shamshir Crash Interlude 2C - 37bil, 67 hits, only works outside of the corner if Baselard Baroque 5B is done.

I don’t get what you mean by canceling Baselard into ground normals. How is that done without baroque?

Well I looked at a guide and it used xx as “cancel into”, so that’s what I used. :stuck_out_tongue:

I’ll change it. As an addon:

C Falchion 5A 5B 2B 5C Baselard Baroque 5A 5B 2B 5C launch j.a j.a j.b j.b 2C Katzbalger 5A 5B 3C j.a j.a 2C B Shamshir Crash Interlude 2C - Does 38bil, corner. If not in corner, use Baselard Baroque 2B instead, yatta(man) yatta(man).

Also changed A Shamshir to B shamshir, sorry about that.

It is possible to chain 2 Katzbalgers using C Katzbalger if you buffer down while traveling across the screen with your opponent caught in it. Then they wallbounce, and you can use it again, and take them to the other side of the screen, it’s very flashy.
Also, sometimes I use “A” javelin projectile while jumping, then I double jump, and either do “A” javelin again or the “C” version of it to mix it up. It’s seems like an unpunishable way to spam.

Yet another more damaging Blade/Tekk combo. This is the strongest baroque combo I’ve found so far:

j.C 5B 2B 5C 2C 4C, A ~ Baselard, baroque, 5B, launch, sj.2C (that’s right, no air combo. Doing other hits here will cause the combo to drop later), B ~ Shamshir, call Tekkaman, sj. 4 hit magic series, dj.2C, C ~ Katzbalger, 5B, launch, sj.2C, B ~ Shamshir, level 1, j.2C.

This one does 42b damage with only 10% red life, and it’s a pretty easy combo. With 20% red life, this is a 100% combo on Ryu. The total damage comes out to 51b. You don’t even get to do the OTG j.2C afterward because of it, but if it was possible (you can do it in training mode obviously) then the damage would be 52b.

Can you say amazing teamwork?

If it’s alright with you (and the community), Xaolin, I would like to contribute to this thread by making videos of the individual combos posted (if I can even do all of them =X). I believe providing a visual presentation/example would be pretty beneficial (if not truly beneficial, it’ll make your guide more badass?). Is there any chance I may contact you via AIM/MSN to discuss?

As for background regarding my recording capabilities, I have an Hauppauge HD PVR that can record up to 1080i (not that it matters for Wii’s 480i/480p). I am pretty picky when it comes to video quality, so I hope that’s a positive thing in your eyes. I have good knowledge regarding rendering videos for YouTube (you can check my channel for examples).

Anyways, thanks for reading.

^ I think that would be awesome, while you’re at it you might as well note the damages/requirements of all the combos so it’s easier to tell which ones are worth doing.

Holy crap.

And this is off of a just one bar of super and 10%+ baroque? Insane.
You make me want to use Tekkaman.

I think I found something potentially pretty sick with TBlade.

If you Baroque his Falchion[any of them] while your dashing hitbox is aligned with the enemy’s, you can create an extremely fast and hard to react to crossup from it. You can time it just a bit slower and end up right in front of enemies as well, making it potentially ambiguous. Wonder if you can combine this with assists to really mess with people…

I’ve made a couple of sample combo videos to just give an example of my offer. Hope you guys enjoy. It’s my first day with TvC so please take it easy on me .

I decided to render the videos in 720p. I did lose a bit of quality but I believe the options granted are more beneficial (it wasn’t an easy decision trust me!). Some people want to view the videos at a larger resolution and doing this allows it without tearing their eyes open. Viewing the 720p version of the video in a standard YouTube resolution window is pretty good regardless. If anyone has suggestions / feedback, I’d appreciate it.

All the links provided automatically go to the 720p version with a larger YouTube window.

Shamshir does about 8 hits in the corner so time the cancel properly. ~ 39 Hits, 22.666 Billion Damage.

As EarthStorm stated: Without Crash Intrude the corner combo still does a good 16k worth of dmg and with a proper assist you can probably tack on a good amount more.

The combo I meant was 5A, 5B, 2B, 5C, 2C, 4C, C ~ Shamshir, Crash Intrude. at or near corner.

Just wanted to clarify before ppl think I was going nuts when they see Blue lightning’s combo do 12k or so without crash intrude lol

Yeah, huh, I later checked (after posting the combo suggestion), and indeed, if you’re in the corner, you can do A, B, 2B, C, 2C, 4C, C ~ Shamshir, Crash Intrude for extra damage. Plus, it’s actually easier to do since you get more time to spam the C Button (4C is considerably slower than C). it’s not necessary, but if you could replace the combo you uploaded with another one that has these 2 extra moves Earthstorm and me confirm, it’d be better. Thanks anyway, and sorry for the trouble.

That’s completely fine, it only takes like 30 seconds to render / upload haha. Whatever we need to fix, we’ll fix. I’ll do it when I get back from work.

Fixed it.

Hey, I’m having a lot of trouble getting the katzbalger to connect after the air 2c. I can get the 10 hit combo, I just can’t time the katzbalger to connect everytime. So, what’s the trick?

When you are doing your air combo make sure you time your B inputs precisely (try not to mash). Try not to go too fast, but just enough to connect the hits, as this allows you to lift them up into the air as much as possible. When you do 2C you should be hitting their feet, because this will allow you to land before them (any higher and it will most likely whiff).

The buffering for the C ~ Katzbalger is extremely forgiving. I’ve tested it from different heights and pulled it off every time. What you could also try to do is listen for the thud. Whenever I did the input during the thud or after, it always whiffed. The problem is that you also can’t do it too fast (as the move will not even execute). Practice practice practice.

Refer to my x854ZHe_v0E&hd=1"]**Combo #6 Video[/B for a visual.

EDIT: Sorry, wrong link, fixed.
