Teenage Mutant Ninja...Aliens?

And I believe that the 2007 movie also bombed pretty bad… This movie actually earned more on its’ opening weekend than the CGI film did DURING ITS’ ENTIRE RUN.

TMNT was a commercial success when it was released. It did $95 million worldwide and it’s budget was a third of that.

raph isnt that big of a rebel. its the movie series and tmnt that really pushed the whole raph as leader thing.

Yeah but still his little monologue at the end felt very forced especially since there was nothing in the film to hint that he would feel that way. I would have been fine with him saying he pushes them hard because he cares about them…but the line about not feeling worthy just went way too far in trying to push his sentimental side. Bottoms line is that It wasn’t a believable characterization for him because raph was never this bitch made.

lol at my post getting buried, did I lie or something?

I know, LOL Doug Walker… But he pretty much nails this one, especially his critique of the “Michael Bay style” of film-making…

I was glad it was only 1 hour and 40 minutes. Seriously, that is a positive attribute nowadays. These blockbuster type films are packed with filler, so for once I appreciate keeping things short and sweet. The Godfather can get away with being 3 hours, not fuckin transformers/avengers/TMNT.

Fuck’s wrong with Doug? He’s funny and doesn’t speak in an annoying accent, use strange mispronunciations, or sound like he has some kind of mental disability (like that one reviewer douche who draws out the last syllable of the last word of every sentence he speaks), and he’s entertaining.

Movie wasn’t bad, although I wasn’t a fan of the origin of the Turtles. Fight scenes were done so fast it was hard to see what was going on often. Physics has no bearing in the Micheal Bay universe. Shredder almost felt overused.

Saw it a few hours ago. Shit was dope. Megan fox adds nothing to the film, but doesnt take much away from it either. People saying its too much about april are flat out retarded. Its a healthy balance of turtles and april, with pretty much the turtles involved with april together throughout the movie afer their introduction to each other. The fight scenes were so dope and well done i was shocked. There was this feeling of boredom that set in me at times, early on, but im not sure if its was megan fox, lack of soundtrack, the writing, or just me too amped to just get to the turtles. Shredder was awesome, and i loved him. I expect some super fun stuff in tmnt 2. Shredder was what silver samurai wished he couldve been in wolverine.

The movie is GREAT for kids. There were some kids in my theater this morning, and i thought to myself, how awesome that this is your experience with the tmnt, because the enveloped my life as a youngin too, and i didnt get the joy of such a mega blockbuster cgi experience like they do.

I thought everyones acting was great except megan fox. She sucks as usual, and her face is not as pleasurable to watch throughout the movie as i would want, or remember from the transformers days, but at least she has her niche, which is cgi movies that she doesnt really have to act well in because everyones here to see the “monsters”.

I give it an 8/10 because of megan, but everything else is enjoyable. The fights were better then some kung fu flicks, the tmnt were all done perfectly, shredder was surprisingly fun to watch, and very fast when fighting, splinter was dope, will arnett was funny as usual, and i look for to tmnt 2. Movie was definitely worth the money. If they work out some of the kinks with the non turtle time being actually more funny and entertaining, i think tmnt will make billions.

I’d watch again, and look forward to the dvd and bluray release of this.

They couldve done a few things better, but quite frankly, i think they did most of everything perfectly fine, and id definitely rather watch shitty megan fox then emma stone, or some other wack broad they would likely put in, although i think kat dennings would have been a perfect april.

IMO, if you didnt enjoy this movie, you take yourself too serious, and for kids, oh my god, i know this just blew their mind away. This movie will definitely be on my regular watch rotation once it releases to dvd, blurary, and internetz. I expect to see this out by christmas on dvd/bluray.

Seriously? I had no trouble following the fights. It’s not like you’re watching fight scenes from Warriors of Virtue or something.

This movie was average at best. The characters were incredibly underdeveloped, especially the villains. There was very little story, and what story was there was completely full of holes. It’s like they weren’t even trying.

Spoiler
  1. Why did the Foot leave Splinter when he had the same mutagen in his blood as the turtles? Why risk him recovering or surviving? Why risk him falling into the hands of the authorities, since you know all the fucking underground explosions are going to attract a ton of attention from them? It’s like they wanted a loose end. And why didn’t anyone go down there to investigate all the crazy shit happening in the sewer and find Splinter?

  2. Why didn’t Splinter regenerate like the turtles? The movie establishes that the mutagen grants regenerative powers. Apparently only for the turtles and only when it’s convenient.

  3. Why did the Foot leave Raph even though they thought he was dead? The mutagen is obviously worth a lot and they could study the corpse. There’s also the issue of someone else recovering the body as mentioned above. It also would have ensured there wasn’t a rogue turtle that could come rescue the rest (oopsie!). You know there is 4 turtles and a rat. Bring back 4 fucking turtles and a fucking rat.

  4. The Foot was obviously ok with having just 3 turtles, so why didn’t Shredder kill Raph when they fought in the lab? He had the opportunity, he just didn’t do it. Overall Shredder was built up to be this ruthless guy and then just failed as a villain.

  5. Why didn’t greedy scientist guy just shoot April and her lacky when they busted into his lab unarmed? He could’ve just walked around and shot them. Instead he sat there and shot at them while they hid behind cover and finally got a plan together to push the fire extinguisher and rush him. For a guy who was an absolute genius, he wasn’t very smart.

  6. You might be tempted to say “Well they were just interested in releasing their ultimate weapon! This is all inconsequential!” Well, no one knew what they were up to. They had waited for years to enact this plan. You’d think they’d be a bit more smart in their execution. Especially considering the villains are supposedly good at creating underworld empires, corporate empires, manipulating genetics, and making Edward Scissorhands battle suits.

I could keep going, but I won’t. But I could. I guess this is what happens when you have to scrap your entire script because the first one involved alien turtles.

The action scenes were pretty decent, especially the ones with Splinter. But overall…meh. I wouldn’t watch this again.

man some of yall forget this was a nickelodeon film, not a chris nolan film… come on now.

ralph was bout dat life.

Yeah, early on i found myself taking some things too serious, and quickly i was like, “OH DOPE, theyre making like a legit fun kids movie that adults can enjoy too”. Ive been so use to watching things generally geared towards kids and teens, made for adults now, that it was fun to see tmnt not try to be an adult movie. That was part of the main reason i mentioned the kids in my review, because i saw who they were shooting for, and they did a great job doing it. Like iron man, avengers, etc…, is for the kids to an extent, but TMNT is definitely for the kids, but you can also enjoy it as an adult.

I wonder if megan fox will stick around for part 2, or take her check and run. Quite frankly, she should get this free money and stop trippin. Its a damn shame she isnt eye candy anymore. At certain angles shes hot, and most angles her face is like wtf. I’m gonna watch transformers 2 now and enjoy some old megan.

I wonder why she still cant act. Like, shes legit still not good at this at all, and her looks arent even what they use to be, but definitely good enough for hollywood. Anyways, yeah, raph was definitely my favorite this movie. He looked so big and mean, i loved it. I loved all of them, but i give that 1 extra point to raph. Dem fight scenes though, so good. I hope this inspires kids to go get into martial arts like it did for me. lol

Perfect copy now out for download, loved this movie lol thought it was immense 9/10 far far better than my expectations.

wasnt shit but no 9/10

Well maybe not cinematic masterpiece 9/10 but Bay/Fox attactionment, zero expectations and was prepared to troll, yea its sitting pretty much 9/10 for entertainment value for me right about now lol.

Mike was perfect, that martial arts was sweet and i couldnt give a fuck about the shit that didnt get fleshed out/make sense, it was just a really really fun movie to watch.

Saw it last night, I was impressed. It totally aimed at kids not adults, so I’m not gonna judge it harshly, it was a good ride, plenty of laughs.

I kept forgetting they’re meant to be teenagers but then you get a quick reminder like the brilliant elevator scene.

People were way to harsh on Megan Fox, she was perfectly fine in this movie, I was more disappointed with Will Arnett performance being a huge AD fan, and he stole the show in The Lego Movie.

Lots of Michael Bay influences, spinning shots and loads of lens flare. Splitter’s CGI was awful, everything else was great, there were lots of shots where I wasn’t sure if I was looking at a CGI turtle or a dude in a suit.

Oh man elevator scene was hilarious and strangely yea, Fox was okish, like coulda used less time but strangely Arnett (whom i wasnt expecting to see in the movie) was just fucking annoying. Easily the weakest casting ill be damned.

New director, David Green to direct sequel. He directed Earth to Echo.

Bebop and Rocksteady to appear in the film. and maybe Casey Jones…
