If the source material is going to be changed there better be a damn good reason for it. I’m sure most people don’t mind changes that genuinely improve the product, however if the result is something like bay’s transformers or pretty much every video game movie adaptation…I don’t think it’s dumb to complain.
This is weird. For the low ass score this movie has, having Bay attached to it, and the ill will spit against it before release, you guys are either being real nice, or something is up, cause you guys are ALL giving it at least a ‘meh’, not at all something I’d expect to read here.
Personally, I always liked Splinter more as a former pet rat than a mutated Hamato Yoshi. I feel that Hamato Yoshi does serves the narrative being dead.
That’s how I felt about it. I think the critical hate is just because it has the letters B, A, and Y attached to the production element. The only thing I blame him for in this movie is the casting of Megan Fox. Other than that, it’s the screenwriters and the director (who does his best attempt at making it look like Bay did it).
This movie seemed more like no one took it seriously until the 11th hour. Think about a term paper you had to write for class. You had the entire semester to do and it, so you put it off and scribble a few things in. You weren’t paying attention in class, and just write it to fill pages. You try to get some feedback right before due date, but you are let known that what you got isn’t close. Right before it’s due, you try cram those suggestions and try to turn it around since it’s half of your grade. You add them, just to drop it as a reference, but it adds no substance, and forget to proofread. The result is you are on topic, but its a mediocre product. You reference certain lessons, however it’s not for content, but only because you heard it once, and “seemed important”.
I haven’t seen the movie but I can only imagine he had influence on a film like other producer/directors do. e.g Man of Steel, nothing about the first quarter of that movie felt like a Snyder movie but it did very much feel like a Nolan movie.
See (I havne’t seen it), that’s sort of where I’m trying to figure…I really could careless about what direction they draw ‘up’ to be so to speak, so many different canons that no one will be happy. That won’t make or break the movie for me, but nothing that I’ve seen in commercials and the such has made the movie look like ‘regardless of the drawn upon history’ it would be good. The look of the Transformers in the first few movies didn’t irritate me, the humans did. That’s how I feel about this. I dont’ mind how the Turtles look, I dont’ care if they WERE aliens or not, all I know is Megan Fox’s face doesn’t move a muscle through out the ad campaign, Shredder ‘in practice’ looks silly, and the narration through the commercials just reeks of ‘this is some shit I should Redbox’.
Not worth regular price, only worth a matinee if you are a fan of the franchise. A $2 rental with a tub of popcorn in the comforts of you own home is the best fit IMO
Lol I don’t think reviews for this movie are reliable. I mean. its too wide. you have reviews that say its good for what it is, that its an enjoyable movie, but just has some off stuff.
Then you have these random “lol this movie is an abomination” reviews, which just sounds megatrollish and are based off the very first impressions of the movie. It can’t possibly be bad from what you guys are saying aside from the human focus.
Not surprised TMNT beat out Guardians… majority of people probably have never heard of Guardians. Myself included… if it wasn’t for MvC3 I wouldn’t know. Everyone knows TMNT, that’s why almost everyone had to go see it.
guardians is a better movie…still a surprise (at least to me) that it was as good as it was. hopefully word of mouth will kick in and the movie will have crazy numbers.
anyway, as far as tmnt it just irks me that the foot aren’t the foot. i don’t like the masks, i don’t like the ar15’s and grenades, i don’t like them operating the way they operate in broad daylight…
i don’t like the turtles being bulletproof and the foot not mattering at all. can we please get more ninja elements in the next one… but of course we probably won’t. this would have been the movie to do it. i would have been ok with this movie having traditional ninja and the next one having mutants or something.
because we will see mutants blowing shit up, knowing bay.
