Dude are you kidding me? The only thing that’s changed about the turtle’s looks over the years have been art style and gear, they definitely have a consistent look, at least in the face.
They don’t have jiggaboo lips, or shrek faces, or weird nostrils.
Those 1996 Wolverine looking fuckers are the only exception, and they’re god awful.
Yes, because you see me defending the HELL out of this movie.
But at least shit on the right crap. Bitching about the wrong things is why no one takes actual criticism seriously. Eventually it all sounds like whiny bitching.
I’ve seen a lot of weird designs for TMNT (in the Mirage or Image comics) over the years but I can’t find them. Depending on the series and artist, they bounce back and forth from looking like upright tortoises with weapons, to comic book superhero physiques. With a ton of variations in between.
TMNT no matter what version you prefer is pulp sci-fi starring mutated abominations. They’re supposed to look ugly, not look like your fucking childhood plush toy.
Where are the beaks that the original Mirage turtles have on the other version of the turtles? 2012 Turtles have three toes and each turtle his their own defining physical characteristic. Not gotta get into the abomination that are the Out of the Shadows version of the turtles. How these guys look are up to artist interpretation.
I do not know of these “plush toys” you are referring to. This is what I played with along with my he man, gi joe, and batman figures:
Rubber and plastic, the only thing I had that was plush was a Pound puppy stuffed dog.
You and every one else that can completely dismiss the reason why me and everyone else in my generation devoured the franchise. We did not get stoked on these niggamorph turtles.
It’s their creation but it’s Nickelodeon’s property now.
When it was their property the characters evolved from the 1984 cover, either from their own artwork or various other artists.
EDIT: And referencing TMNT #1 at this point is funny. We know from the first pages of this thread that most people never read the Mirage/Image comics, otherwise they’d know how equally gritty and wacky TMNT can get. The movie (ignoring that April Fool’s link) sounds like a trainwreck, but it’s rightfully over-the-top, and I actually like the hobo-ninja look of the turtles.
You don’t have to act tough around us, you know you loved your cuddly wuddlies back in the day
