Looked at the Tech hit face book page looks like there are going to be a good amount of people going, looking to have a grate time there again.

To everyone that is attending. If you want this tournament to be exclusively on the Xbox 360…
**I NEED PLAYERS TO BRING COPIES OF UMVC3, AE (HDD+SSF4 or disc), and SFxT. **
**If not then the consoles will be split down the middle or exclusively played on the PS3. **
That was your public safety announcement for Friday May 18th, 2012. Thank you very much. Hope to see all of you there.
So bring your games! Monitors if you have them. PS3, 360 doesn’t matter. If you have AE on your HDD then bring that as well.
\m/ Rock on!
I have a full set up with monitor and all 3 games, ill bring it with me. I should be there around5. This is scubasteve
Hey, was there a lot of interest in CvS2? Something else came up today that I’d like to go do, but I don’t want to be the guy that doesn’t show up with something important.
edit: if Grimm_Demize is someone who’s normally at TOS for the regular casuals, I can just bring CvS2 to that from now on
Hawaiian Shirt- You can bring CvS2 anytime and I’m sure Jon Lay aka The Prophet and I will always hit you up for some games.
I have updated the tournament results (post #2). Sorry about starting an hour behind schedule I was trying to hunt for more copies of games for us but alas it was not to be. Which has made me realize a few things:
If I only get 2 copies of UMvC3 then it’ll run on two copies til the brackets are through. I’m no longer going to go out of my way to hunt for more copies because in the end it doesn’t help anyone. I will always continue my efforts to convince the venue to buy games for us but til that day comes we’ll have to work with what we got.
I am not an employee of The Otherside Gaming Center. I am just a player that organizes events there. So I will be leaving all the system hooked up to the Vizio TV’s. If you bring games and equipment I will tag it help you set it up in place of the Vizio TV’s and I’ll call it a day, but I am no longer going to go out of my way.
To everyone that was okay playing on those monitors; Thanks for your support and appreciating my intentions. All in all I would like to thank:
The Twins for always being so GDLK
Scuba Steve for bringing equipment for us to use
WWDiety aka Huart Sayden for representing minors
LNitrogen for driving from Covington to Tacoma
and Huey253 for representing Animooo.
Shredder is still the Titan in Tacoma. Seems like he can’t be stopped!
I intend to move the dates for tournaments closer together after NWM and bump up the schedule and add more games. Hope to see you guys next time!
I was watching the stream but the sexy twins didn’t want to talk to me & chad was freaked out by me…Wish i could have gone…Josh you do a thankless job, it sucks that there were still complaints about the setup. i would rather play on a black n white CRT lagless then on a beautiful 3d HD diamond ultra tv w/lag…
I watched Chad get second place in SFxT, good job chad!
REPRESENTTTTTIN’ LACEYYY (and minors)
I was pleased as usual by the sportsman like conduct by the players there. Hearing the guy next to you saying “good shit man” is always a good feeling.
I’m working with the manager on getting some TOS xbox360 titles (namely xTekken, UMvC3 and SSF4:AE.) Whether I work something out or not, we’ll have some in house games next time, even if i have to buy them myself.
I’ll be sure to bring games next time. Least I could do after all the money you guys have handed over to me.
I had a good time at this one. It was run supremely smoother than the last incarnation of this tournament. Josh did a great job keeping things organized and on time. Chad, you played really well. It wasn’t as free as the scoreboard made it look. I was working pretty hard during our matches. By the time you’re my age, you’ll be destroying everyone.
I was really impressed with whichever twin plays Wolvie/Doom/Nova in MvC3 (TheFinalLine?). Crazy potential in your game play. I definitely took notes watching you. Hopefully we can run a few matches next time.
And GGs as always to Pad/Stick Ken. lol
until next time,
Shred :china:
Next goal, Hitbox.
Sorry about not performing very well this time. Didn’t feel too hot, got some kind of sickness the following day.
Should I expect to be there until midnight or later from now on, since Marvel is played last? I don’t mean this as a passive-aggressive complaint or anything, I just like to plan how much time I’ll be spending there.
As a player I think you should always be planning to stay late. Plan for the worst and hope for the best. Marvel well be running last from now on because it is the fastest game to run, according to in game time and overall play style, and because it is pretty much the main event in the Northwest. I updated the original post to reflect that about a week before the tournament.
To all that attend I will always update the OP, so please check the OP for any changes in times and game line ups. As a follow up you should see a post from me saying that the OP was updated. I hope this helps everyone make better time management decisions.
Not 100% sure what this meANS BUT HELL YEAH HITBOX!
I picked up Dante last night and I’m trying to get the bold cancel into his OTG (srk medium) down to muscle memory. In order to do that on the Hitbox I have to deliberately push 8 buttons in a very specific pattern within a few frames. It’s very possible but It feels like 8 buttons should be a bit over kill to cancel one move into another. 30% of the time I do it flawlessly, 70% of the time my head explodes (I don’t even really miss an input, my brain just says “too hard, please stop” right as I’m about to bold cancel) . It’s like I’m strolling along in a combo when suddenly a wild deferential equation appears and I have to solve it within 10 frames to continue onto the next hit. Granted, I’ve only practiced it for about 15 minutes but I keep thinking that this has to be easier on a stick, maybe not.
I always assumed that (as a Hitboxer) I was above the unwashed, stick-piloting masses. And as Michael Jordan would lace up his Nike’s and therefore double his game, as should I when placing my fingers on the Hitbox, but it appears that not everything will offer a favorable learning curve in every circumstance, Hitbox or stick. Perhaps I’ll put Dante back down in favor of more derpy solutions… He seems like a delicious hamburger but he has a small slice of moldy bold cancel cheese and I’m not so sure i want to eat the whole thing anymore. (My hope is to replace my sad chun-li bipolar-downs-esqu shenanigans with a more reliable swiss-army knife while simultaneously resisting the charms of the mighty dive kick)
Man your Haggar is dirt nasty it gave me PTSD and we were just playing casuals
Strider might be a good fit for you. X3 orbs is still mashy and googly eyed, and his teleport assist is bonkers plus his combos aren’t too complicated at least compared to Chun-Li.
I enjoyed reading that.
Thanks to Slash, I am proud to say that Tech Hit! will broadcast the alternate stream at Northwest Majors 4. If any of you are in the area or want to stop by to say wassup, please do. If you hate my guts then come blow me up. I’m very excited and intimidated at the same time. If I looked stressed then it’s probably because things aren’t going my way, so steer clear.
I would like to announce that I have complied a schedule for the remaining year. This is the schedule for the month of June:
https://www.google.com/calendar/render?tab=wc&pli=1
Things are subject to change but this is the tentative schedule. The first tournament this month will be June 16th with Skullgirls, KOF XIII, and possibly BBCS:EX. Capcom guys don’t need to come but if you want to grind for a small fee and watch some hype matches feel free to drop by.
not seeing anything when I click the link other than my own calendar. Or am I doing something wrong?
Hmmm… I checked my calendar as public… I’ll try to fix it now.
